Andrew John "AJ" Pinkerton, also known as the Purple Guy is a major antagonist of Five Night’s At Freddy’s: The Musical. He serves as one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Springtrap) of FNAF: The Musical, the main protagonist of "Blood and Tears", and a minor character in the First Nights at Freddy's prequel series. He is the morning guard of Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. He uses Springtrap in order to make others quit, so he can have more hours.

He used to be the guard for Circus Baby's Partyworks, but got reassigned to morning guard after Baby attacked him and almost killed him.

He is played by the real A.J Pinkerton, the director/creator on Random Encounters.

Appearance[]

AJ is a slim Caucasian man with brown hair. He wear a white t-shirt with his signature purple hoodie, with his hood up, sometimes concealing his face. He also wears purple pants, shoes, and gloves.

Personality[]

Unlike his counterpart, AJ is a much more calm and level headed person. Despite him trying to scare off people, he genuinely doesn't want them to die.

History[]

Background[]

Nothing is known about Purple guys life before the events of the story, except he was hired as a night guard for Circus Baby's Partyworks by Henry Emily.

Blood and Tears (Prequel)[]

AJ went to Circus Baby's Partyworks on his shift, checking the place, but is unable to find Baby. He goes into a room and sees Baby frozen in place. While investigating further, Baby attacks him and almost kills him when the clock hits 6 o’clock, shutting her down, a horrified AJ calls up Phone Guy (Henry Emily) and asks to be relocated. Phone guy agrees and gets him a morning shift at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzaria. AJ grabs his hoodie and leaves the building, leaving Baby frozen.

7 years later[]

Not much is known between him working at Circus Baby's Partyworks leading up to FNAF: the Musical's supercut, but it can be presumed that he stayed working for Fazbear Entertainment for those years.

Night 1[]

AJ comes and greets Mark, who thinks he there to kill him. AJ reiterates he’s their for the morning shift, making Mark realize he survived the night. Mark then hugs AJ in excitement to which AJ awkwardly accepts. He then asks Mark how he’s getting more hours and that he’s scheduled for four more nights, much to Mark’s horror.

Night 3.5[]

AJ comes into the office to see the office abandoned and the destroyed Puppet. He starts sweeping up the office when he gets a call from Nate, who is in a car with the rest of the animatronics, driving to Mark’s house. Nate tells AJ he’s going to be late and tells him if he sees Spring trap tied in the closet, to not say anything about it. AJ then reveals he united him and he’s deactivated. Nate warns him to not touch it, to which AJ brushes him off, saying his wiring was burned years ago. Nate then just tells him to leave the building at 12, to which he agrees. The call ends and AJ decides to work the night, stating that overtime never killed anyone

Night 5[]

After capturing Springtrap, Nate tries to activate his spring locks by using a fire extinguisher, but it fires directly back at him. He says it could’ve have gone better, when AJ behind him and knocks him in the back of the head with another extinguisher, agreeing. They're all are horrified to see him, but AJ just asks them to released Springtrap. Chica asks if he was behind spring trap all this time, and AJ just states he was messing around, and Spring trap has a mind of his own. Nate asks what the point of this was, and Mark realizes he just did this for more hours. AJ admits it and says he could’ve gotten it if they did it hire them to do the night shift. Nate says he legally couldn’t work that many hours, and AJ argues that they couldn’t let animatronics bite children either, much to Freddy’s annoyance. Mark and Nate say that they didn’t even want the job and says he can keep it. AJ asks really and Nate agrees, stating as long as someone is their to watch over the animatronics.

AJ feels bad and apologizes to them all, and Bonnie says that everything turned out okay, then Phone guy calls and reveals that he was Henry Emily, the killer of all those kids and Nate’s employer. He bursts through the office with a chainsaw-flamethrower and a bear suit, revealing himself. AJ jokingly refers him to “Evil Dirtbag with a Chainsaw” when Henry stabs AJ through the gut with the chainsaw, and saying that’s his favorite name, before sawing his stomach, killing him instantly. His body along with Freddy Fazbear’s is burn to the ground due to Springtrap attacking Henry, causing the flamethrower to bursts and engulfing everything in flames.

AJ: So, you're just letting me have the nightshift? Nate: As long as these guys have someone to stay up all night with. AJ: Wow, that was a lot simpler than my plan to make you quit. I feel kinda stupid now. Mark: You are kinda stupid.	„

Trivia[]

A.J. has many differences toward his counterpart:
- A.J never actually murdered anyone, only intending to scare not harm.
- While his counterpart does his crimes due to pure insanity, while A.J did his crimes for money.
- Unlike his counterpart, A.J never got stuffed in a animatronic suit.
- A.J eventually becomes better and tries to redeem himself, but is reformed minutes before his death.
- In contrast, this universe's version of Henry Emily is a lot more similar to the original Purple Guy, as he is a child murderer who owned Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. He also went by the name "William Afton", Purple Guy's name in the original series.
