Abu Zubair Sarookh, or just called Abu Zubair, is one of the 2 deuteragonists (alongside Umm Zubair) of the comedy sketch YouTube channel Zubair Sarookh. He is the father of Zubair Sarookh and Zainab "Zuzie" Sarookh, the husband of Umm Zubair Sarookh and he's a brother-in-law of Rambo. He is also a fellow Muslim like his family. While mostly just a jerk and not truly a villain, there have been a few instances where Abu Zubair does some clear cut wrong acts and is just an abusive father in general.
Like many characters in the series, he is played by Zubair Sarookh itself.
Synopsis[]
Not much is known about Abu Zubair's past. He was born in Yemen and moved to UAE and is the older brother of Hamed. He was friends with Abu Ahmed and Bamboo Khan and even knew Santa Clause. When Abu Zubair was an adult, his parent arranged a marriage for him with Umm Zubair, who was deceived into this marriage which upset her to a degree. Eventually, Abu Zubair and Umm Zubair had a child called Zubair. However, Zubair grew up to be a disappointment in their eyes and they both have been emotionally abusing him everyday, even dragging him into conversations in which there was no point.
Abu Zubair makes his debut in "Trust Issues Between Father and Son". Zubair asks his father whether if he can go out with Hamed. Abu Zubair asks which Hamed, to which he says Hamed Mirwan, who Abu Zubair knows by telling he always smoke. Zubair tells he doesn't but Abu Zubair then asks if his son is calling him a liar. Then Abu Zubair comes to the conclusion Zubair also smokes and then he tells him to get out and ruin his life, even takes drugs. But Zubair tells he just wants to play football, to which Abu Zubair thinks he is instead going to talk to girls. The irritated Zubair calmly says eh will go to the room, but Abu Zubair tells eh wants to go to room because it is prayer time and doesn't want to go to the mosque and then calls him "salah thief". Zubair then tells he will go the mosque then but Abu Zubair still being paranoid says Zubair will go the park instead and play then come back inside and tell he will play and then calls him useless. He then asks why he hasn't washed the car to which Zubair hesitates to tell he forgot and he was busy. Abu Zubair then makes a wisecrack that Zubair is business man and tells 14/7 he is with his phone and Zubair will back answer. But Zubair, shocked, told he only told to tell him. Abu Zubair then tells the "hard work" he had to do to bring him into this world and scolds him. Upset, Zubair tells nobody loves him in this house and wants to suicide. Abu Zubair then tells that he got the toothpaste and gives Zubair the rat poison he needs.
In "Arab Kid Gets Kidnapped" video. One day, Zubair was kidnapped and the perpetrators called Abu Zubair to give him 50K dirhams or they will kill Zubair. He then laughs and then gives the phone to Umm Zubair, to which her words disgusted the kidnappers to free Zubair itself. Another time, another kidnapper kidnapped Zubair and came to their house for money, however, Abu & Umm Zubair both tricked the kidnapper who left in fury, and was also disgusted by their actions.
Abu Zubair also managed to be an attempted victim of some bank hackers wanting to steal his money. However, his nature ended up foiling their plans.
But by far, 2020 Pandemic has been the period that changed Abu Zubair forever. It is however from this year that Abu Zubair started becoming a pervert, wanting to marry 2 more wives. This is also when he finally met Zubair's teacher, who now bears a sense of grave resentment against him the moment he first physically met him for the parent teacher interview. Abu Zubair also met Monica Corasna and plans n marrying a dog if she is her only option and also starts developing a bitter rivalry with Rambo, his brother-in-law who was imprisoned with 20 murders.
Appearance[]
Abu Zubair has light brown skin, black hair, a small goatee, a very thin moustache and brown eyes. He always wears some sandals, a torquoise and kandoora, mostly a white and turquoise chequered one, and a white taqiya.
Personality[]
Abu Zubair is an unintelligent fool, unable to answer Zubair's teacher's question and not knowing basic things and also to pronounce properly, plus even gave away the fact he forged evidence that he fought a dragon while going to school. Abu Zubair is also a narcissist, always belittling Monica Corasna, Zubair, Rambo and Zubair's teacher on their looks and whenever they correct him, he says "same to same habibi.", while he claims to be the most handsome man in the planet, to which only compared to Corasna he is objectively right. Abu Zubair is also delusional, viewing himself as the most intelligent people in the world even though he is not except for some instances where he does have common sense which even many others in the videos agree, like the toilet paper video. He also loves to crack lame jokes in any opportunity, much to the annoyance of everyone else. He is also a big liar, which goes in hand with his god complex when he always says he crossed 3 deserts 4 mountains and fought a dragon to get to school, despite everyone knowing it is false. Abu Zubair can also be rude, considering his poor performance as a car salesman. Also, Abu Zubair is shameless, always openly telling about his desire to marry 4 more people and flirt with other girls, insult Umm Zubair and even go to the marriage bureau to get 4 more wives also. And also, Abu Zubair has a major fear of Umm Zubair, fearing that she may get angry for his goals, or just in general. He has proven himself to be largely uncaring for Zubair, having even been more concerned for his phone than Zubair's safety, both taken hostage by Pablo Escobar. Even then, despite his negative traits, Abu Zubair is mostly a jerk and never truly a villain except for some instances.
Crimes Abu Zubair Committed[]
- Callously allowed Zubair to put rat poison in his food and kill himself and meant it, to which Zubair having some common sense doesn't. And worse, it is basically because of him and Umm Zubair.
- Abu Zubair is most of the time, emotionally abusive to Zubair, belittling him while he views himself as superior and has expressed thoughts on wanting to kill him.
- He and Umm Zubair robbed Zubair's eidi by manipulating him into claiming it will be safe with them. Because of that, the next year when they asked for the eidi, Zubair ran away.
- Sexually harassed many women & girls, even underaged ones also who are in his sons class, so they can be his new wives.
- Invaded Zubair's privacy by snooping through his search history without his permission.
- Intended to sell Umm Zubair once.
- Allowed a robber to kill Zubair since he has no money, to which the robber left in disgust.
- Allowed the kidnappers who kidnapped Zubair to kill him as they don't want to give money as he views him as useless, disgusting even the kidnappers themselves. One time, he told a kidnapper to sell Zubair's testicles and kidneys to earn 500K dirhams and has him share 250K dirhams with him, to which for the first time, Zubair, who was the kidnapper in disguise, finally stood up to his parents for wanting to have him killed.
- Left without paying some of his own bills.
- Crashed his car onto Zubair's teacher, and extorted him many times to both tell he himself is the one responsible and not him despite it being entirely the opposite and giving Sabha's and Jumana's numbers, and then accepted Rambo's suggestion to leave him to die and someone else will help him, and then extorts him to crash into him again if he tells he is the one ho crashed him. Also, before finding out he crashed into the teacher, he called the police and framed Rambo for it.
- During Ramadan, steals multiple sandals from the mosques and sells them illegally.
- Has Rambo threaten the entire class by shooting them at the head if they leave his substitution class.
- Escaped police after his son was caught drifting on the road and attempted to bribe the police to get out of a fine as his son didnt have his driving license after which the police said they were being arrested abu zubair made his escape by getting out of the car and running away.

- Abu Zubair is one of the most iconic characters from the channel, with nearly the entire fanbase liking him. His popularity went to the point where there are separate videos solely focusing on him.
- Abu Zubair speaks in a thick Arabic accent when speaking English. He can also speak Hindi. It goes well as Abu Zubair is a parody of the stereotypical Arab fathers.
- He is revealed to be friends with Abu Ahmed from the skits of Ahmed Rashid's YouTube video, as well as Bamboo Khan, one of that channel's mascot. Ahmed and Zubair are close friends, collaborating multiple times early onto their YouTube channel. And it is because of Abu Zubair that Abu Ahmed also wants to marry 6 more wives also and also caused marriage problems between him and his wife.
