Adam Pryce, born as Hakim Ronel, is the secondary antagonist of the 2022 fanfilm Maze Runner: The Final Revolution.
He is a high-ranked member and commanding agent of Ronel Corporations as well as the secret nephew of Hassan Ronel. He is also the boyfriend and eventual ally of Maria Lloyd.
He is portrayed by Tom Holland.
History[]
Adam at first appears warning Maria of what is coming. He explains to her about his company's evil scheme, but by the time he attempts to keep her uninvolved and tells her to run away, it is too late as The Gladers, commanded by Director Hassan Ronel and Agent Ayman Zade, and kidnap her and bring her to be tested by Adam in the facility's lab.
After a short argument between Adam and Maria, in which Maria remarks that she doesn't know him and that he is a monster, Adam orders one of his guards to inject her with a serum which will wipe out her memories so he can turn her into a Glader and use her to cure the flare virus and win future wars for Pax Americana.
Thomas however defeats the guards and comes to rescue Maria. The two of them escape from the guards, and Adam goes to confront them near the helicopter himself and he intends to do so in a personal way. Adam tries to tell Maria and Thomas that his plans are for the good of mankind, and that he was hired by The Egyptian Government to research people in order to create a cure for the flare.
However, he and Hassan Ronel later realized that The Egyptian Government placed a traitor in their inner circle who was no other than Ayman. They did so according to Hassan in order to use their company and create more flaired zombies via manipulating that virus and using them as biological weapons for the possible next world war.
Hassan also reveals Adam that he is his nephew. He was born as Hakim Ronel but he somehow lost that memory and he is the only one who could save Maria and therefore he can help save the world from the mad disease.
Adam Pryce later joins the ambitious Ayman who convinces him to finish their task rather than abandon it for the good of humanity and get caught for their crimes.
As Ayman shoots Hassan and therefore commits a terrible act of treason, Adam helps Ayman complete the task and brings Maria to their lab. However, behind Ayman's back, Adam promises Maria to make things right and help her escape from Ayman's madness. Ayman tries to use his device in order to wipe out Maria Lloyd's memories and use her for his own purposes. However, he could not harm her, since his device's munitions were taken away by Adam. Adam chooses to redeem himself for Maria and he shoots the glass tank behind Ayman, thus letting the zombified lab rats escape. After Adam and Maria escape the facility, Ayman is brutally mutilated and consumed by the flaired, just before his lab explodes and later the facility explodes and The Gladers all die inside the fire. Adam says goodbye to Maria and kisses her, before she retreats on a helicopter with a heavy heart, and Adam dies in the explosion.
Personality[]
At first, Adam Pryce is ambitious and megalomaniacal just like his uncle Hassan. He commits terrible crimes but he still has remorse as he tries to protect Maria at all costs, with the exception of letting her ruin the company's agenda. He also believes that he does these crimes for the good of humanity, and he is genuinely loyal to both Hassan and to Ayman Zade. However, Adam redeems himself in order to show his love and emotions towards Maria. He really cared about her during the entire fanfilm, but he was also very obsessed with his work.
Trivia[]
- Despite being the central antagonist and having a major role in comparison to Ayman, and he was also above Ayman's ranks and one of the company's leaders, Ayman still became the true main villain during the second half of the story, since Ayman's ambitions made him more dangerous and ruthless than anyone else including Adam and his uncle.
- He is based on Teresa Agnes.
