Rhiiblos, a mad for power, intensely ferocious and hostile tyrant belonging to a fictions species of herbivores collectively known as "Shield Heads". Shield Heads, in our world, are each distinct genus of different Ceratopsian dinosaurs that are considered the same species in this fic, with their numerous shapes and sizes being treated as identification of individual features among them. Rhiiblos starts off as a young, violent brute of a pre-mature male, who thinks his herd leader has grown soft, and is ruining the chances of their survival by trying to negotiate with other species, as opposed to doing what Shield Heads have done in the past of violently enforcing their rule of their territory. A disagreement, among the elder members of his heard, and his apparent father of the alpha, was what lead him to believe that the generation before him had "forgotten" what the "true" way of the Shield Head was; violence being the sole answer to any problem they had, no matter how small, and Rhiiblos took a step to correct what he perceived to be political changes to the way of life causing the lose of balance in the whole region. After succeeding in murdering his own father, he declares himself Admiral Rhiiblos, believing him to be superior to every other male of the herd. However, his madness, at this point, is only just the beginning moment of the story as a whole...

Appearance[]

As a whole, the Ceratopsian dinosaurs in The Rebuild of Paleus are based off of numerous real-life genus of the group all lumped together into the same species, capable of interbreeding with each other as a result. Rhiiblos in particular is specifically based off of the genus known as Pachyrhinosaurus, the largest of which known being 8 meters/26 feet long. Rhiiblos is only slightly larger than this, being approximately 31-32 feet long. Prior to reaching full maturity towards the beginning of his downfall, he was only 28 feet long. He continued to grow just slightly, until reaching a maximum length of 34 feet long. In terms of weight, Rhiiblos was very heavily built, being around five tonnes, but was not necessarily overweight, but rather very robust and thus very strong in appearance and actual strength.

Rhiiblos' skin takes on a navy blue coloration, with his horns and claws taking a darker shade of said color. Towards the top of his head and along his spine, his blue coloration is brighter, whereas towards his belly, it is darker instead. Rhiiblos' neck, like all of the other Shield Heads depicted in The Rebuild of Paleus, is visually much longer than a real-life Ceratopsian neck would actually be, and in terms of Rhiiblos' frill, it is a tad smaller than what Pachyrhinosaurus is known for. While part of this could be shown as battle damage, it's still rather small overall aside from the pointed ends in the corners towards the bottom of both sides of his frill.

Personality/Background[]

Shield Heads, long in the distant past, have been prone to behave similarly to real world hippos, as they were once considered the most dangerous animals in all of the world of Paleus, to the point carnivores would often take a backseat to how dangerous their herbivorous counterparts were. As this basis of hippos made Shield Heads traditionally unpredictable, a pact was made with a later generation, whom would become the elders whom Rhiiblos would despise; the Shield Heads were to only use their brute force for self-defense, never to overthrow or take over other lands that didn't belong to them. Rhiiblos deemed this mindset too politically correct, as he had known already that the global population of the Shield Heads were in decline, and that the elders had doomed them all to extinction according to his point of view. He genuinely believes that if their whole species was to survive, that violence was the only option to salvaging the species. However, even with this in mind, Rhiiblos was told, and he even knew, that this would only accelerate the extinction of the Shield Heads; Rhiiblos' own sadism and bloodlust made him not care for this revelation.

This all cumulated in one thing, however, as he would violently lash out at any individual who so much as reminded him of the tragedy of the whole Shield Head species, even if said individual was a bystander who was just passing through. 98% of these rampages would lead to at least 2-3 casualties under circumstances in which his anger only lasts for a short while. Longer rampages have lead to him causing entire herds of other species to abandon their territory due to Rhiiblos personally murdering an individual or more of their kind out of either a blind rage or to claim their territory for his own. Many of these incidents of murder have been noted to be from completely unprovoked encounters with Rhiiblos. Rhiiblos, after having killed his father and took over the herd, had killed any would-be usurpers, even killing adult females who tried to defend their nests from his attack on any young or eggs that the herd had at that point. He was aware of his own carelessness, but his own disrespect to the elderly also extended to the females, considering the only male elder he personally knew to be his own father. His hatred for everything made it clear that Rhiiblos is nothing but a monstrous madman, but it didn't stop there.

Rhiiblos, when pointed out that he had killed all of the females capable of breeding in his initial takeover, had ordered the young males now under his control to assist him with invading other Shield Head herds to abduct and integrate only recently matured younger females into his herd, ensuring each of his men had a mate they could force themselves on to control as their own, meanwhile Rhiiblos personally saw interested in a significantly younger individual who he admired for her unique, hornless attributes of her Shield Head heritage. However, the elders had deemed Rhiiblos mad for intending to mate a premature female, but when Rhiiblos made his intent clear he would raise her and mold her to his liking alone, and ensuring his corruption of her would ensure no other male would ever want her aside from him, the elders were horrified as to what Rhiiblos has descended to become. However, this madness did not end here; he now demanded that his newly content males, still having aftermath of violent spasms in their heat even after having claimed a female for themselves, now were to take their anger out on the elders along with him and slaughter them. However, he gave them a choice; to be face him head on with their backs to a tall cliff, in hopes they could futilely bargain for their lives, or face outright death at either his own or his subordinates hands through a violent beatdown. While not all of the elders were killed exclusively by Rhiiblos, Rhiiblos had made his intent clear prior with the eldest of the herd, who had intended to agree to a hopeless duel with Rhiiblos to prove her moral high ground against him with a sacrifice. However, Rhiiblos was not naive to this; he ordered the slaughter of the other elders to ensure nobody would witness her sacrifice, and that during the duel, the males under his control were to violently chase and kill on sight any intruder that tried to spy on them.

In the dual proper, Rhiiblos took his time with engaging the elder with a full on charge with their heads, pushing each other in which it was adamantly clear Rhiiblos' physical strength would lead to the elder's demise; he had held back if only to see the elder's suffering before him, knowing her death would be slow compared to the rest. The elder did her best to ensure she would give no such reaction to Rhiiblos, but then Rhiiblos had mentioned something; one of the adult females in the herd was still alive, and he intended to, after finishing this duel, to force himself on her even though she more than likely already had been ravaged by at least a few males previously, hoping to make a message out of her survival to the elder's grave. Realizing the elder did not give him the satisfaction of suffering when he ultimately shoved her off of the edge of a cliff, his lieutenant he reported a spy had a message, in that apparently a younger sibling of Rhiiblos had survived and is out to try and find him.

This news did not bode well for Rhiiblos in the slightest; he realized that his attempts to torture the elder before her imminent demise did not work as intended, and now somebody out for revenge was hunting him. When asked by his lieutenant what to do, he was coldly ordered to stay still, and watch closely as Rhiiblos ordered his men to restrain his now former lieutenant, as he was now forced to watch as Rhiiblos mounted his own mate, the aforementioned surviving female from the herd prior to his rule, and revealed he knew of his lieutenant hiding this female from him under a false sense of loyalty to him, loyalty that his lieutenant begged was genuine, but Rhiiblos did not listen; he claimed his mate for himself now, and had his men forcefully shove the lieutenant off of the cliff, with his last sight before falling off being Rhiiblos siring the female with a lengthy roar indicating his release and full claiming of this female as his. However, his prior intent to corrupt the youngest was still clear, as she revealed she was watching the whole time; Rhiiblos looks at her with a feigned friendliness, revealing this is what she'll become for him once she's of age, informing her with feigned promises of rulership of the herd alongside him, knowing she will be his strongest mate of the whole clan, to one day sire his young and have the strongest offspring with him.
