~ Aklove to the player. |
Aklove is the main antagonist of the 2020 Pokémon fan game Pokémon Unbound created by Skeli. Aklove is the leader of the secret organization the Light of Ruin who had been manipulating events behind the scenes to achieve his goal. He is later revealed to be the descendent of the "King of Kalos" who in the past was leading the region in a war against the Borrius region. Aklove seeks to finish what he started by reactivating the ultimate weapon in order to completely wipe out the entire Borrius region and everyone inside.
History[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Aklove's backstory other than that he is a descendent of the King of Kalos who seeks to finish the war he started. He ended up coming into possession of the legendary Pokémon Hoopa as well as founded the Light of Ruin organization to help him with his goals.
The Game[]
Aklove throughout the game makes a few scatter appearances initially appearing as a normal member of Zeph's organization who also seeks to use the Ultimate Weapon, though in his case to bring back his dead son. Aklove had actually ben tricking Zeph into unlocking the true power to hope by deceiving him into thinking it would help him when in reality it would actually help Aklove. When Zeph does this Aklove reveals what he did to Zeph, when Zeph tries to take down Aklove he uses Hoopa to banish his Houndoom as well as Zeph himself to a Volcano.
Aklove manages to convince a large number of the Shadows to join his cause including Ivory who he tricks into believing that he will help her revive her son. Aklove starts using a bunch of the Light of Ruin members as human sacrifices in order to power up the Ultimate Weapon. The heroes infiltrate his base in order to take Aklove down. After they beat Aklove in a battle Aklove uses Hoopa to banish them all to anywhere he can for them to either die or be trapped forever, banishing the protagonist to the distortion world.
Everyone is able to escape, including Zeph who was saved by his Houndoom. Aklove goes up to Crystal Peak where he intends to activate the ultimate weapon to destroy the entire Borrius region. The heroes make their way up Crystal Peak to confront Aklove, Aklove sics Hoopa on the player but fails to get rid of him. Aklove then takes on the protagonist himself and is defeated once again. Aklove however still manages to activate the ultimate weapon, however, instead of destroying the Borrius region it instead brings back Zeph's son, which is what he originally intended to do, Zeph reveals he managed to alter the settings before Aklove used it.
Aklove is infuriated by his loss and reveals to Ivory that he never planned to use the Ultimate Weapon to revive her son and instead was going to destroy the region and then use her as the scapegoat so he could escape from the consequences. Aklove flees the scene by flying away on one of his Pokémon as the police arrive to arrest all of his remaining allies.
Aklove is left alone but still determined to complete his goal, even if he needs to do it all on his own. He kidnaps a number of people, including Zeph's son as well as the protagonist's mother in order to lure them to him and take them down. Aklove is once again defeated by the protagonist and Jax. Aklove continues ranting about the war and his ancestor and how this was all for him, Jax points out that if his ancestor Rally is still alive like he claims, maybe after 3000 years of self-reflection he might not want this war anymore and Aklove is simply projecting what he wants onto him. The police then arrive arresting Aklove, with Aklove likely to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
