“ | What is this? I am not seeing you groveling before me. Kneel before me, you wretched, fragile creature. Your weakness disgusts me. You exist only because I allow it, and with a single word, I could crush the very breath from your lungs. Remember that when you dare look upon your queen. [...] Your weakness disgusts me. You were born to serve, to kneel, and that is all you'll ever be - dust beneath my throne. Strength rules this world, and I am its law. | „ |
~ Akuma Mayoi to one of her maids. |
“ | At last, the continent bows to me. Every corner, every soul, bound by my will. This is the order I've created; an empire of silence, where no voice but mine dares to rise. Perfection...through dominance. | „ |
~ Akuma Mayoi when the last armies in Asia surrendered. |
“ | Impossible...! How could such weakness overthrow my reign? This continent was mine! I was its rightful ruler. You may have won today, but know this: chaos will consume you without my iron hand to guide it. You've only delayed the inevitable. | „ |
~ Akuma Mayoi as she was captured. |
Akuma Mayoi, better known as The Queen, is the main antagonist of Chains of Dominion.
Akuma Mayoi was a former anarchist who eventually decided to overthrow the monarchy and government, turning herself into the supreme ruler of Japan, spreading chaos and destruction across the land, determined to build a country where she reigns supreme.
Biography[]
Past[]
Akuma Mayoi was born on the cruel, poor streets and immediately experienced a life of toil and desertion. Her parents died when she was young, leaving her with no guide or protector. She had to take care of herself in a world that gave her nothing but cruelty. In the slums, she soon learned that kindness and weakness were luxuries she could not afford. For every crumb of food, for every moment of existence, there was struggle and cruelty, and she had to watch ad nauseam how the strong squashed the weak.
This brutal upbringing hardened her heart; she vowed never to be powerless again. She clawed her way to the top, seizing control and crushing anyone in her way. To her, the only truth in this world was strength: power meant life and weakness meant a death sentence. It was just that belief which launched her rise to power, and once she did take the throne, the iron fist with which she ruled was determined to impose an order that she alone could keep. Her tyranny was born not from ambition, but from the deep and open wounds of a childhood in which the slightest vulnerability promised destruction.
Appearance[]
Akuma Mayoi has long, flowing black hair, cascading easily down her back and framing her elegant body. Her eyes are a deep, burning red, which is in stark contrast to her pale skin, adding power and strength to her gaze.
She wears a military-style uniform, mostly black with accents of gold, adorned with double-breasted buttons, epaulettes, and medals that symbolizes her authority and power. White gloves seal her uniform, representing her discipline and precision. She wields a sharp katana in her hands.
Personality[]
Akuma Mayoi, being a child born into bleak and unforgiving slums, knew hardship and deprivation quite early in life. As she grew up, she realized that mercy and kindness were an orphan of the weak. Smitten by poverty and cruelty, she grew up resenting the powerlessness that defined her early years. It was a struggle for survival every day, with the strong preying on the weak, and she knew quite early on that strength was the only way to freedom.
Even as a child, sharp, cunning, and determined were attributes one would hardly fail to notice about her. In her heart, deep resentment brewed for all those who had grown content in the hierarchy of the world in cruelty. All those early experiences instilled in her an unyielding ambition: to never again be at anyone's mercy. She despised the feeling of frailty, grasping it as the noose that had held her face pressed into the dirt for far too long. A burning desire took hold of her: to rise out of the slums above everybody around her.
As she climbed through the ranks with manipulations and lies, and her unyielding will, her personality hardened. What little empathy she had as a child was worn away, replaced by a calculated cold hunger for control. Charisma became a means of domination, intelligence a means to crush anyone in her way. She had learned to swing power with an iron fist, convinced that only utter control could provide the assurance of safety for herself and her kingdom. She saw mercy as a weakness; compassion as a threat to order.
She was a queen who ruled with the heart of a tyrant - trusting no one and despising any who showed even the slightest sign of vulnerability. The world, to her, was divided between the strong and the weak, and never would she allow herself to be returned to that helpless girl in the slums. She built an empire unto herself wherein strength was the law and the weak had no place but to kneel before her. Her thirst for dominance would grow insatiable, and she saw herself as the only one fitted to rule - chaos and ruin were to be the only answer should another replace her.
