Alan Jonah is a major antagonist in the Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) fanfiction Abraxas, written by Hrodvitnon.
He is an ex-British Army veteran colonel and MI6 agent who became an international eco-terrorist in charge of a paramilitary team, obsessed with ultimately killing off as much of the human race as possible and seeing the Titans as a means to achieve that end.
After subverting Dr. Emma Russell and awakening Ghidorah, in the aftermath of Ghidorah's death, Jonah and his paramilitary go into hiding in a long-abandoned Monarch outpost built into the Ural mountains of Russia; taking Ghidorah's sole remaining head which they obtained from the Isla de Mara fishermen, and discovering through analysis that the head is still partly alive and carrying a mutating Dr. Vivienne Graham's body.
After Vivienne, and the Ghidorah head's consciousness San, are reborn from the head as a new being, Jonah has the new beast held captive behind a repurposed containment field while his organization conducts merciless experiments on them, while also continuing to experiment separately with Ghidorah's DNA inside the old head. Jonah later decides to attempt to break San and Vivienne so he can turn their power against the world he hates.
Personality[]
Jonah is a horrifically twisted, misanthropic extremist who wants nothing less than to see the world changed in such a way that mankind is completely wiped out. He's a cold-blooded murderer to whom killing comes easily, and no depth is too low for him. He's also arrogant, abusing Ghidorah's remains and torturing Monster X without regard for the consequences backfiring on him. At his heart, Jonah is a coward and hypocrite who prioritizes preserving his own life at the expense of others'. He's not completely heartless, as he's still shaken whenever he remembers his family who he lost decades prior, including his daughter whose death was the main catalyst of his fall into evil, and he's enraged when Monster X taunts him for sending Asher to his death.
Trivia[]
- Like in the official novelization of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the turning point where this version of Jonah went down the path to becoming a villain in his backstory was the brutal and unsolved murder of his daughter Lindy at home.
- According to Hrodvitnon, Jonah likely hadn't thought about his daughter in decades before the psychic emanations from San's old head dredged her back up.
