Though he is ultimately impaled and killed by Izuka at the Phase Six climax, Dare is revealed to have become a host of the Mass Pathogen, alleging at Amass' survival.

The Father of an Omniversal Pathogen, Amass has no known derivation, no known relations, and no known delicacies. His incitements appear to be little than a desire to unify the Omniverse as one being, a goal which he will stop at no lengths to accomplish, even willing to offer his own existence in his pursuit of it. Following the consumption of his parents, he holds absolute control over the Mass Family, with connections varying to numerous species and factions spread across the Multi-Universe. He shows little to no solace for the sentient beings he must slaughter to accomplish his means, even displaying a famished pleasure of his actions. Through the expansion of his Pathogen, Amass is capable of devouring the consciousness's of all those infected by it. Though Izuka and Jack Spark had developed an indemnity to the Mass, it had continued to spread through the efforts of his Fellowship, and ultimately consumed Dare. Following his initial failure, he was reverted to his most primitive state and kept in confinement by the Champions, where he was to be examined and then disposed of, much to the displeasure of the Fellowship. He was liberated by his disciples soon afterwards.

Amass displays little vehemence throughout his distinctive existence in the Multiversal Legends canonity, appearing to genuinely believe the Omniverse's inhabitants are dismantling it. He is portrayed as having little care for the sentient lives that must be taken to achieve these goals, psychologically tormenting the Champions as they search for the Mass Pathogen's source. He displays vibrant delight in inflicting pain and ridicule on those he believes as inessential, once goring a child's stomach for virtually no reason other than out of bloodthirst. He was created by HeresJosh, with inspiration drawn from characters composed by both BrandonDarkOne47 and Adie89.

Throughout his patent role in the ML mythos, Amass displays himself as a guileful, sadistic, fallacious, exploitative, and intelligent being, capable of various acts of mass genocides. He shows little to no regard in anything unrelated to his twisted desires to coalesce all life into one, seraphic organism, and will slaughter civilizations on a planetary scale to achieve his ultimate goal of complete unity. The orchestrating drive behind much of the Pathogen Arc, Amass appears wholly void of sympathy, insulating and exploiting the insecurities of his prey to his own craving, such as attempting to breed the Pathogen into the Prime Omegas, nearly vitiating Nekrozoth. As addressed in his Phase Six soliloquy, he seeks little personal gain from his various actions, longing for nothing more than to ingest all sentience into a single being.
  +
  +
He is portrayed through the series as hubristic and temperamental, goring through Izuka's intestines for ridiculing his appearance, despite Izuka holding a divine immunity to the Mass contagion and therefore being of much important to Amass' studies. In past ceremonies, he had several members of his cult leadership chained to flagpoles and disemboweled alive for no reason apart from bloodlust, despite their influence over his Fellowship. He infested Eldor with pathogen carriers and virtually eradicated its population, despite knowing it would serve no purpose apart from attracting the Alphas' attention. After his disciples inform him of Izuka's survival, he falls into a rage and slaughters them all, ramming a candle into one's throat. Again, in the Fourth Season of "Legends of the Omniverse," he attempts to corrupt Vekkisul in a final attempt to preserve his life, before he is torn in half, though he ultimately returns. Amass exists in a constant, aching states of hunger and emptiness, longing to devour any and all life in an attempt to feel fulfilled at last. As each Phase antagonist in the Multiversal Legends appears to personify a certain aspect of evil (Manah symbolizing wrath, Nekrozoth symbolizing cruelty, Smiles symbolizing insanity, etc.), Amass is believed to epitomize the evil desire to both unite and to consume, as he ultimately solicits both throughout the franchise.
  +
  +
Amass is shown to have somewhat of a pietistic attachment to himself, regarding himself as a Messiah and the Omniverse's final hope for prosperity. His ego-centric nature overshadows his own sense of judgement, as he often overestimates himself and his abilities, while unable to acknowledge and learn from any failures that he may encounter. Though possessing an intellect arcane to human minds, he has been confined, deluded, and killed by mortals on various occasions. He seemingly cares little for the growth and well being of the Omniverse, wishing mainly to stroke his ego and mitigate his boredom. As a result, his apostles regularly erect monuments and human sacrifices in his name to appease to their beloved "Eye Behind the Curtain". His own self-conceit has driven him to consume his parents and oppress trillions of civilizations under his influence. His Fellowship cultists display an almost Stockholm admiration of their creator, willing to face unendurable torture and death to please him.
  +
  +
Despite being revered by his followers as a Messiah of sorts, Mass is rather cowardly and ingenious, slitting Xayna's throat to buy time as he fled Eldor, though she was fostered to health by Legend. After being taken into captivity by the Omegas, Nekrozoth tortures him by inundating Amass with his own pathogen, to which he begins to plead for his life (although it was later revealed that he had allowed himself to be captured as to secure an advantage and carry the infestation to Oblivion.) He rarely partakes in direct conflict with others, preferring to employ those beneath him, or often making use of host bodies such as his brief possession of Dare. Ironically, Amass' own abilities and stamina far surpass those of Dare, meaning he truly does fear death and loss to the same degree that any human would.
  +
  +
In spite of his actions, Amass' ultimate goals and intentions appear to be somewhat charitable. He had observed how the inhabitants of the Omniverse were oppressed and in constant conflict amongst one another, while the Omegas and Alphas lived with little regard for their creations. He appears to genuinely believe that his actions ultimately benefit life itself and bring the various worlds and states of the Multi-Universe together as one. His primary aspiration appears to be integration, believing one to be the rule of nature, a way to bring harmony to all things. And despite tormenting and often butchering nobles of his Fellowship, he acknowledges and respects the wishes of his following, gifting Pastor with a bible of his beliefs. Unfortunately, his aims are executed thoughtlessly, as he believes his goals can be accomplished only by consuming all life into himself.
  +
  +
Summarily, Amass incarnates the divide between the desires to consume and the desire to unify. Though his intentions are genuine and beneficial, his true desires come across as being consumption. He exploits those surrounding him (distinctively his disciples), deceives, slaughters, and consumes, all to appease his sense of emptiness. Similarly to Manah, he doesn't appear to harm animals, and stands for the disadvantaged and impoverished.

Amass has no material body, and therefore relies on various forms and human hosts to interact with the physical world. He generally assumes the form of a large, human male with a mass of jet black tendrils swathing across his face and scalp. Said tendrils appear to act as bodily limbs, and often unravel to reveal a singular, maroon eye. He wears a loosely fit, white coat draping to ankle height, as well as loose, white ankle-length pants, and dark leather loafers. As an organism of limitless forms, Amass is capable of shaping his body into whatever he desires of it, such as allowing scarlet horns to pultrude from his temples.
  +
  +
In the climax of Phase Six, Amass merges with his beloved Pathogen, assuming a form capable of momentarily impairing Dare's vision. While in this ascended state, Missamtenebris appears as a colossal, black figure, surrounding by thin tendrils and radiating patches. It's head is composed of several horns, as well as numerous others protruding from within it's body. It's eyes are radiating slits of red and yellow.
  +
  +
Whilst in a more human state, Mass appears as a juvenile, Caucasian man outlined by dark features and hazel brown eyes. He is outfitted with a white suit, white parts, a scarlet red tie, and brown leather shoes. Black tendrils occasionally seep out from within his throat and irises. Whilst under Amass' influence, sores form across an individual's neck and collar, as well as two maroon rings assuming the place of their irises.

Missamtenebris, generally known as Amass or the Eye Behind the Curtain, is one of the main antagonists of the Multiversal Legends series and an overarching force in various related media. Responsible for the creation and growth of the Mass Pathogen, Mass serves as an underlying antagonist in Phase Three, a minor antagonist in Phase Four, one of the overarching antagonists of Phase Five, the main antagonist of Phase Six and Myriad, and a posthumous coercion in Legends of the Omniverse.

Personality

He wears a loosely fit, white coat draping to ankle height, as well as loose, white ankle-length pants, and dark leather loafers. As an organism of limitless forms, Amass is capable of shaping his body into whatever he desires of it, such as allowing scarlet horns to pultrude from his temples.

Quotes

Phase Six

Progression...progression always.
~ Mass' first words in Phase Six
I dominate your monitors. Coerce over your gods. Counsel your politicians. No angle of your lives is unmarked by my influence. I expand, I mature, and I consume, until all is one. Until I am all that remains. Until we are...assimilated. Together, we can ascend, we can flourish. We can be God. And nothing less...
~ Amass in the opening narration of Phase Six
You always say that we must identify our schools, we must sacrifice all we can to achieve...you want to know what I want right now? I want you all to see. To share my perception of faultlessness. Of purity. Of...oh, whatever the fuck. DIE.
~ Amass attempting to preach to The Orator before slaughtering him and his followers
Goddamn...you're so loud, you know? So assured. So secure. Everything you do is considered, delineated, contemplated...it's fucking maddening, Nikki. Like Mickey Rourke's face. But we understand, of course. We all do...
~ Amass taunting Niklovich
I seek to contain. To offer my gifts to the irreverent. To these little men who consume...who butcher...who don't know perfection as we do. Who live in the blackest shades of my light. We rid and stifle the Omniverse of these horrid little men. I am a cleaner. I am God.
~ Amass as he appears to the Fellowship
Order is such a pitiful thing. It seeks to control every aspect of an individual's life, only to decimate them in their worst moments. It forces them into a system where work and obedience are praised, but hates when others follow suit. It's remarkable...haha...that you, you STUPID FUCKING INSULIN, would sacrifice everything to keep that "order". Or maybe it's because of some ill-bred sense of righteousness. We'll never know. Your people disgust me. Your morals bore me. Your hypocrisy is pathetic. So, I'll say this to you: give me one reason why your people are essential, one reason why they deserve mercy after everything they have destroyed, and I'll let them keep their lives. Unless you can't. Then in that case...brace yourself.
~ Amass
Look at them. Still. Quiet. Everything is so...so peaceful. As all things are meant to be. As all life was molded to be. People talk about taking action and shit, but that's all they really do, Izzy. They talk. Talk and talk while everything around them disjoins. We can bring them together again. We can show them all just how inclement life can truly be....
~ Mass referring to his victims
Oh, FUCK OFF ALREADY.
~ Amass as he is confronted by Legend
