I’ll admit, I never liked Bernard. He was a drunken nitwit whose only good skills were scaring our soldiers and inspiring recklessness! However… HOWEVER! HE WAS ONE OF US AND YOU SLAUGHTERED HIM LIKE HE WAS NOTHING!
~ Amethyst vowing to kill Simon and Luanne to avenge Bernard

Amethyst Throatsbane is the secondary antagonist of Kissing and Killing in Inkopolis by TheBiggestBigBoi. She serves as the main protagonist of “The Traitors.”

She is the lieutenant of the Wrath-Violet Gang, one of its most dangerous, unpredictable, and loyal members. She is obsessively protective of her fellow criminals and goes to extremely violent lengths to avenge any slight against them.

Personality[]

Amethyst is a barbaric, insane, and sadistic criminal, but at the same time is genuinely cares for her teammates. While she performs each of her murders swiftly and brutally, she prioritizes making sure her henchmen are safe when fighting particularly dangerous opponents, Simon and Luanne being prime examples. She also seems to be under the misapprehension that the Wrath-Violets are fighting for some noble cause when they really aren't.

While Amethyst primarily uses ink weapons, she has a tendency to use other weapons such as knives or even her bare hands to beat her enemies to a pulp. As per her name, she has an affinity for slashing her victims’ throats or strangling them.

She's incredibly loyal to Lavender, referring to him as "My Lord" whenever she talks to him. In spite of this, she isn't above being untruthful to him (such as when she hid that she could've killed Simon and Luanne but didn't) but feels extremely uncomfortable when she does.

Biography[]

Past[]

Very little is known about Amethyst's past other than being a loyal member of the Wrath-Violet Gang. However, one thing that is known is that she once trusted someone with her life who possibly betrayed her. When she thinks about her name and what it means to her, she recalls how this man told her that it's not her real name. She pushes this thought away and assures herself that he was punished for this, implying that she either killed him or had something to do with his death.

The Kidnapping[]

Amethyst first appears at the end of “The Kidnapping.” She informs her boss about the deaths of Bernard and several other gangsters in a failed hostage sale. She gets incredibly emotional when talking about the subject and starts screaming about wanting to kill the bounty hunters responsible. Lavender calms her down, allowing her to list off the names of the kidnapper and hostage present at the scene. Before she leaves, Lavender asks her to bring Bernard's body to him. When the assassin asks why, Lavender dodges the question and tells her to prevent the other Wrath-Violets from asking about it.

The Traitors[]

Amethyst, instructed to take out a traitorous splinter group, gathers 6 thugs to accompany her in doing so. She had somehow received info that one of the head members of the group, Tanner, works at Loch Technology and Industry and ambushes him in the company's building by going through the vents. She kills each of his bodyguards and then murders him by tying a rope to his neck. After this, she goes to a phone and then calls another traitor, mimicking Tanner's voice to get him to bring the others to the warehouse that they've been operating out of.

Amethyst and the rest of her small gang go to the warehouse and catch the smugglers by surprise. Amethyst kills one of them by punching her into a nearby table and then prepares to slaughter the rest of them with a splatling. However, she is interrupted when Luanne nearly snipes her from afar, forcing her to dodge. The traitors attempt to get away by running deeper into the warehouse. Amethyst and her party chase after them, but she is confronted by Simon who she nearly kills when she is attacked from behind by Luanne. She puts up an incredible fight against them, putting them in a situation where she could potentially kill them. However, during the fight she accidentally caused some of the stacks of crates to fall over, endangering her allies. She decides not to risk killing the bounty hunters and speeds toward the other Wrath-Violets, saving them by shooting ink up a wall and out a window for them to swim through.

Later, Amethyst's group hides in an alley to avoid the authorities, and Amethyst calls Lavender to give him a report. She tells him that they were able to kill four of the traitors in spite of the couple's interference, but one of the gangsters was killed in the process and she never got the chance to kill Simon and Luanne. She also asks him what Jim, the smuggler that she called in Tanner's office, possibly meant by doing something about "the smell", to which Lavender simply asks her what she would do if someone caught her while doing something illegal. It is revealed at the end of the chapter that the traitors have been systemically killing people using the poison they were smuggling and hiding their bodies in the warehouse cellar, as per their leader's orders.
