Amygdala is a vicious criminal mutate who is in many ways a modern-day Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - having taken an experimental serum that has cursed him with turning into an aggression-fuelled beast whenever he feels pleasure.
History[]
Amygdala began life as an unorthodox scientist who was obsessed with finding a way to stop human aggression, believing that he could do so via the use of a serum that was considered "psuedo-science" by his peers and far too dangerous to be tested.
Yet despite these rejections and ridicule Amygdala's faith in his serum was so strong that upon learning that his research was being closed by his superiors he took the serum and in an act of desperation to prove his theories correct he drank the serum, risking death in the process.
However, what happened was perhaps worse than death as Amygdala underwent a modern-day Jekyll and Hyde transformation - becoming a monster fuelled by aggressive impulsives, after his first rampage he would try and distance himself from what he believed would be triggers, such as stress and violent situations.
This would prove futile as Amygdala soon realized that his research had been flawed and the serum not only caused his frightful transformation but did so whenever he experienced pleasure - this would become his curse, trying to deny himself simple pleasure yet giving into temptation like anyone else.. a tragedy of his own making as he seeks a cure for his condition while in his sane state and going on drunken rampages of hyper-violence whenever his inner-beast is unleashed.
Powers / Abilities[]
Whenever Amygdala transforms into his monstrous alter-ego he gains the following abilities:
- Superhuman Strength (when in his beastly state he can lift up to 50 tons without aid.)
- Durability (when in his beastly state he can withstand great physical assaults.)
- Regeneration (when he reverts back to his "normal" state almost all injury obtained in his beastly state rapidly heal.)
- Focused Rage (when in his beastly state he becomes a focused and aggressive fighter, able to exploit weakness in others and strike fast despite his lumbering appearance.)
