Anastasia Luthien, also known as The Ebony Dame, is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Haryt) of Kazanryu's Kingoms of Fall franchise.
As the enigmatic and unpredictable leader of Hand of the Black Day she operates from the shadows, orchestrating conflicts and manipulating key figures to serve her hidden agenda. A master of deception, agility, and psychological warfare, Anastasia is a force whose true motives remain shrouded in mystery, making her one of the most dangerous influences in the unfolding chaos of the series.
Appearance[]
She looks like a young woman wearing a tight black latex outfit and an elegant top hat. Her outfit is shiny and reflects light, highlighting her curves. The back of the outfit has an open cut, exposing part of her back. Her hair is long and brown, falling gently over her shoulders.
Personality[]
Anastasia Luthien is an enigma that is impossible to fully decipher. Her mere presence is a paradox: sophisticated yet lethal, charming yet relentless, a woman who never says more than necessary but whose words can crumble empires. Her mind is a labyrinth of strategies, always two steps ahead, always playing a game only she understands.
She's a born manipulator, but not in an obvious or crude way. She doesn't force or threaten those around her; instead, she seduces them with ideas, shows them paths that seem inevitable, and makes them believe every choice is theirs, when in reality they've been dancing in the palm of her hand all along. Her charisma is so hypnotic that even those who hate her can't help but feel a certain admiration for the precision with which she moves her pieces.
Anastasia doesn't believe in brute force or excessive violence; chaos has a purpose, and disorder must be carefully orchestrated. For her, the world is a chessboard where patience is more lethal than a sword, and where truth is just another tool of deception.
Her unpredictability makes her a constant danger. One day she can present herself as an ally, the next as an unavoidable threat. Her loyalty is a flexible concept; she binds herself to no one, but at the same time, those who follow her do so with an almost fanatical devotion, caught in her web without realizing it. Her smile can be both a promise and a warning, and her silences are even more disturbing than her words.
She shows no fear, shows no weakness, and never loses control. Because, at the end of the day, in the game she designed, everyone else is merely a participant… and she's the only one who knows the rules.
Biography[]
Anastasia Luthien is the kind of person who can make her enemies sign their own death warrant with a smile on her face. Possessed of chilling cunning, her presence is as seductive as it is lethal. She never leaves anything to chance; every word, every gesture, and every move is part of a chess game that only she fully understands.
No one knows exactly where she comes from, but many legends circulate about her past: some say she was born into a disgraced noble family, others claim she was trained from a young age as a spy for a clandestine regime. The only certain thing is that, over time, her name became synonymous with calculated chaos.
Hand of the Black Day, his faction, is not a simple criminal group. They specialize in destabilization: sabotage, information theft, conflict manipulation, and surgical strikes against powerful factions. They are considered a specter in the criminal world, appearing at the most crucial moments and disappearing without a trace, save for the echo of their impact.
Anastasia doesn't lead with an iron fist or brute force, but with persuasion and absolute control of the narrative. Her followers don't see her as a leader, but as an ideal, a symbol of the inevitable. Her true motivations are a mystery; some believe she only seeks chaos and power, while others think her goal is to tear down the pillars on which the current world rests.
However, her greatest danger lies in her unpredictability. Anastasia isn't a villain who can be predicted or contained with conventional tactics. Her mind operates on multiple levels, always with a backup plan for every contingency. When she seems cornered, it's because she's allowed herself to be trapped, waiting for the perfect moment to turn the situation in her favor. Unlike people who seek absolute control or total destruction, Anastasia seeks something more abstract: uncertainty. Her goal isn't just to win, but to make everyone around her doubt the reality they rely on.
Because in her world, there are no absolute truths, only the illusion of them.
At some point, Anastasia had turned her body into a specter composed of shadows. She had then created a vessel for her remains to verify her experiment, a shadow container that would absorb her corpse after it dissolved. To avoid suspicion, she would disguise it as a simple top hat, which was her signature symbol. After that, she put her body to the test in a deathmatch between her faction and an enemy faction. Although she had the advantage, she decided to let herself be attacked, and was pierced in the back, but her consciousness faded instantly, just after receiving the wound. While she would at any moment catch a glimpse of her vital point and be unable to remain conscious, suffering a "mortal wound" with a spectral body made of her shadows, she couldn't experience it because she wouldn't remember it, dying instantly. She will do not notice that this also will erase her memory of that day, even despite no matter of the conditions, she is able to remember anything quickly.
All the members of her faction knew she was planning to experiment with her new ability on her body, and upon seeing it, they managed to write down the result to give to her to ensure her memory. However, it was also discovered that bringing her back required several physical objects in different numbers, but they couldn't tell which ones at the time.
For now, Anastasia remains in her eternal sleep and unable to discover the results of her idea, and no one has been able to figure out what they need to get her out of the grave so far.
