Andes the Pain Shepherd is the main antagonist of the Fight Coven arc of MoringMark's The Owl House Future AU webcomics.
He is the former champion of the Bonesborough Brawl. After the Brawl was closed down, he joined Eda Clawthorne's fight coven and attempted to rig the competition in order to scam her. He is also the former archenemy of Ayzee Noceda-Blight.
Appearance[]
Andes is a witch with darker skin and blue hair. He has what could possibly be scars on his body, similar to Hunter. His body is fairly tall and broad. As for attire, he wears a Middle Age-style two-tone grey shirt with blue shoulder pads. He has light green pants and brown tactical boots.
Personality[]
Andes is greedy, delusional, and unfeeling. He thinks that because he was denied success in his youth, that he has the fight to hurt anyone to take what he thinks is his. He will stop at nothing, not even brutally injuring a 14 year-old. He exhibits a fair amount of charisma, as he was able to convince three goons to fight Ayzee for him. He's also smart enough to call out the hypocrisy of Eda's rules.
He can also be hypocritical, since he thinks that using tricks that allows him to get advantages without even moving (like having an abomination fighting in his place) are the same thing as Ayzee bending the rules to outsmart her opponents.
Relationships[]
Ayzee[]
Andes does not have a high opinion of Ayzee. While he admits she's intelligent, he believes that because of her physical weakness, she is of no threat to him. He also seems to underestimate her will, as he believed he could convince her to walk away from the fight. He does not seems to care that Ayzee is a minor, as he's as violent with her as he would be with any other opponent. However, after seeing how Ayzee does not give up, he starts to respect her to the point where he lets her win the Fight Coven.
Eda[]
Eda is Andes' second greatest enemy, with his first being Ayzee. While they don't have that many interactions, it's clear that they have a deep hatred of each other. Much like with Ayzee, he underestimates Eda. In this case, he believes Eda is dumb enough to believe his thin lies. However, given his redemption, he might have given up his animosity to Eda.
Trivia[]
- Andes serves as a dark parallel of Ayzee. Both witches suffered tragic events that led them to believe they were worthless (Ayzee felt that her parents didn't respect her and blamed herself for her Milan's curse, leading her to feel she was always doomed to fail. Andes believed that the only thing he was good at was fighting, which led to him giving on finding a purpose.) The difference is that Ayzee was able to keep moving forward in life, while Andes wasn't. Had Ayzee given up and accepted the fact that she was worthless, she would have ended up like Andes.
