Maxresdefault Arborachnid

The demon known as Arborachnid, is the main antagonist of Kaze Emanuar's Ocarina of Time mod The Missing Link.

Appearance[]

In his mutated form, Arborachnid resembles a spider with six red eyes with a leaf-less tree that had muiltiple eyes growing out of its back with one of its branches holding a fairy cage. What he used to look like was never shown nor explained, but he was said to be scary in appearance prior to his mutation.

Biography[]

When Link returned to Kokiri Forest, he was told by several of his Kokiri neighbors to hurry to Saria's House and play her song. Once inside, a voice told Link that the forest is in serious danger without the protection of the late Deku Tree as the forest is starting to wither.

A demon has also been kidnapping fairies from across Hyrule and is coming to Kokiri Forest and he must take the Soul-Charged Kokiri Sword from the chest in Saria's house in order to save the forest and its fairies. As Link leaves, he ponders where Saria is.

Just as he left, the rain pours as Link discovers that the demon went by and stole all the Kokiri's fairies, and they were worried about what happened to Saria. Mido even laments that his kind cannot leave the forest as they cannot survive.

As Link hunts down the fairy-collecting demon, two Deku Shrubs attending a gate deny that he went past it and warn him about the fiend he was pursuing. When Link reaches the Deku Grove, Saria's spirit emerges from the sword for one last speech with him.

She explains that while the forest area does look peaceful, she can sense the presence of the kidnapped fairies kidnapped by the demon and they are close by at a dead tree called the Hollow Root Keep and the demon's darkness was creeping close to them.

By listening close, Link can hear the cries of the kidnapped fairies. When she heard of the demon approaching Kokiri Forest, she was mortally wounded in an attempt to stop him, which lead to her sealing her soul in the sword. Before passing on, she asks Link to save the fairies.

As Link explores the Hollow Root Keep, which looked like the Deku Tree on the outside, only more sinister, he comes across several kidnapped villagers who were mutated into Skulltullas by the demon's dark magical experiments after he caught them and everyone else in their village for his ultimate monster project which involves absorbing the power of the fairies to transform himself, having already captured all the fairies in Hyrule. Each of them gives Link a key so he can go further into the keep and put a stop to him and hope it can help the kidnapped villagers.

Late into the dungeon, Link learns that the demon's transformation went wrong as a handful of the fairies he kidnapped escaped into deep parts of the woods and Link is given hope that Navi escaped as well. With no time to lose, Link proceeds to track down the demon, known as Arborachnid, to his quarters. Link proceeds to attack Arborachnid with the magic hourglass he found by warping back a few seconds to strike him in the back. Getting desperate, Arborachnid consumes the remaining fairies he had left, but Link manages to cut down the demon who burns up and fades away.
