~ Boyfriend upon seeing Grey, pre-"Delusion". |
Argent Silver Grey, or referred to by their color/last name Grey, is the secondary antagonist of the Friday Night Funkin mod VS Impostor.
He's a Crewmate whose parent was falsely accused of being an Impostor and ejected, leading Black to adopt and raise him, leading Grey to grow up into a pseudo-Impostor. As Black's right-hand minion, Grey is fully loyal to them and carries out all of their orders.
Appearance[]
Grey is a grey Crewmate wearing a purple road cone with 2 white stripes surrounding it on his head. In his right hand, he wields a red microphone, and in his left hand he wields a blood-stained knife. He also has blood on his body and visor.
Personality[]
As a mini-crewmate, Grey was an innocent youngster, happily accompanying their parent as they did their tasks. After his parent was falsely accused of being an Impostor and ejected, Gray became distraught, which allowed Black to easily take advantage of his emotional state and raise him as a murderous pseudo-Impostor. As a pseudo-Impostor, Grey never speaks, but shows through their actions that they're completely insane and fiercely loyal to Black, carrying out their orders without question.
That's not to say that Grey simply kills whenever he feels like. Grey seems to only turn aggressive whenever Black orders him to. As such, he is able to seamlessly blend into a crowd, passively watching Boyfriend and his singing competitions. Whether or not Grey was ordered to do this by Black is unknown.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
The opening cutscene for Week 6 shows Grey's beginning as a mini-crewmate happily accompanying their parent, Noob49, as the parent did their tasks. As Noob49 was emptying the trash, an emergency meeting was called, where Black accused Grey's parent of being an Impostor, causing the Crewmate to get ejected, while Grey could only watch in horror as their parent was sent into the vacuum of space. Shortly after the ejection, Black approached the distraught Grey and took them under their wing, leading Grey to grow up a pseudo-Impostor that could easily keep pace with their adoptive parent.
Week 6: Deadly Delusion[]
In the present day, Boyfriend wakes up in The Airship's Electrical room, noticing Grey standing in front of them, knife-in-hand with their back turned to him. As Boyfriend gets up, Grey turns around to face them, and it's then shown that surrounding the two of them is a bunch of dead bodies, and not just crewmate bodies, but the decapitated heads of the Red Impostor and even Girlfriend. Boyfriend can only give a shocked "Oh my" in response as he and Grey proceed to rap battle against each other while Black watches. The week has no ending cutscene, leaving it ambiguous if Boyfriend escaped Grey or not.
Week 7: Humane Heartbeat[]
Gray can be seen in the background, watching the rap battle between Boyfriend and Pink. As Gray is a Crewmate, they perfectly blend in with the crowd and draw no suspicion towards themselves at all. Pink's first two songs, "Heartbeat" and "Pinkwave", Gray just spectates the rap battle, but at the end of "Pinkwave", Black pops out of the vent in the back of the room and cuts the lights. On cue, Gray takes out their knife and kills everyone in the room except for Pink, leading her to rap against Gray in the final song, "Pretender".

Trivia[]
- Grey was created by one of the mod's artists, Malor. Grey is considered part of a group known as "Triple Trouble", shared with Maroon and Pink.
- Grey, unlike everyone else in Black's crew, is a Crewmate instead of an Impostor.
- Grey is aromantic-asexual.
- Grey is the strongest Crewmate within the VS Imposter Mod. [1]
- In artwork prior to the release of VS Impostor V4, Grey has a visorless Coral Impostor as a lover. As well as having an adopted son with her named: "Lil Shit". This has since been retconned.
- Grey can be considered the opposite of Pink, in that Grey is a murderous Crewmate while Pink is a pacifistic Impostor.
- Also, the color gray is a hueless color often associated with emotionlessness, a trait the titular character has, while the color pink is a color with lots of hues which itself is often associated with compassion, a trait the titular character has.
- Thanks to Black's manipulation, Grey is fully loyal to them and could never oppose them.
- It could be that if Black popped out of the vent in the kitchen of "Sauces Moogus" offscreen, Grey would have killed everyone.
- Unlike nearly every other character in the mod's story mode, Grey is NOT controlled by an actual person, but rather seems to be their own entity who actually grew up in the game. This would essentially make them a sort of NPC.
- Grey is around 15 years old by the time the mod takes place.[2]
- According to Clowfoe, Grey's week was meant to end with Gray and Black blowing up the Skeld with Boyfriend still inside.[3]
- Additionally, Pink's week was supposed to end with Black and Grey trying to throw Pink out of Mira, but unsuccessful in their attempt to kill her, with Pink flying away.[4]
- Black uses Grey to kill Impostors, due to Gray technically not being one themself.[5]
- For some reason, Grey's name in the game files is inconsistent. Most of the files use the European spelling of "Grey", but the icons use the American "Gray" instead.
- Grey is the only character in the main story mode to not speak. The one dialogue box given to them during their week is blank.
- He is British.
- The version of Grey seen in VS Impostor is an outdated version of the character. Grey's current iteration is considered separate from his VS Impostor counterpart, and appears in TRIFFLE Mod as a major opponent.
