Dr. Arnim Zola is a major antagonist in the Marvel Fanfilm Universe, serving as a supporting antagonist of Avengers: In The Darkest Hours and one of the two main antagonists (alongside the Mole Man) of the fanfilm Invisible.
He is a ruthless, destructive and vengeful scientist who is furious since his parents were murdered during the WWI. He traveled in time to commit many crimes on those he held responsible for the death of his parents, and he even helped Thanos revive many supervillains and use them for their own purposes. After Thanos betrayed and killed him, he was revived as a robotic supervillain by Elder Corporations, and as Elder himself tortured him many times, thus killing and reviving his soul over and over again, Arnim finally broke free from his control and swore his vengeance.
He is portrayed by Andrew Scott, who also played Jim Moriarty and Max Denbigh.
Biography[]
Arnim Zola was a corrupt scientist and warlord whom caused lots of misery to many people in the world. As a child, he witnessed the murder of his parents during the WWI. He then somehow traveled in time and committed crimes and atrocities all over the world, as an act of vengeance. Eventually, he forms an alliance with Thanos and the two of them revive many supervillains in order to conquer whatever is in the universe. Thanos however betrays and kills him.
He is later on revived by the madman called Harvey Elder (aka The Mole Man) and was meant to be part of an army of mindless cyborg soldiers all created by Elder Corporations under The Mole Man's orders. After Elder shows the vice president his ultimate work, Zola in his robotic AI form hacks into the facility's system and comes to kill Elder as an act of vengeance. Elder runs off, but Zola does manage to kill the vice president.
Zola then plans to hack once again into the system so he could take control of the nukes which Elder has planted all around the world. When Sandy comes to investigate the evil lair of Elder Corporations, Arnim Zola reveals himself and chases after her.
After the final battle begins and Elder begs for the protagonists to spare him so he could help them defuse the bombs by finding the right switch, Arnim enters the scene and kills The Mole Man out of vengeance, wrath and tragic feelings for his parents and for him turning Zola into a monster.
Zola rips Elder apart, and then fights with Sandy. While they fight, Galacta goes to the control room of the facility and uses the switch to eliminate Zola once and for all.
