You wouldn't think that way if you knew how I felt. The bitter sting of loneliness. The feeling that my blood is pouring out of my heart. Every day, I am reminded of how you wronged me.
~ Ashfur exaggerating his break up with Squirrelflight

Ashfur is a reoccurring antagonist in the Warrior Cats shorts and I Spoil series by Moonkitti. He was once the mate of Squirrelflight and became mad with anger and heartbreak when she broke up with him. This escalated to him plotting to kill her father and later her adopted kits to make her suffer, and upon his death he possessed her mate Bramblestar in an attempt to get back into a relationship with her.

He is voiced by Moonkitti in the I Spoil series and in Ashfur and Squirrelflight have a nice chat and How to go to Starclan, by, Drackenheart in Firestar and Sandstorm, by Raycorra in Rainwhisker, by Blueberry in Sleep In, by Bright Guardian Akira in Ashfur's Trial, by Pehk in Bramblestar comes back, One Man Bramblestar Defense Squad, Deputy Time, Flipclaw, Parental Chat, New Deputy, Lionblaze and Shadowsight and Bramblestar and Squirrelflight Goes Swimming, and by Questy in Squirrelflight Goes Swimming and a continuation.

Appearance[]

Ashfur is a light gray tom with a dark gray nose and navy blue eyes. The tips of his tail and ears are also dark gray, along with spots that run down his back. His most iconic feature is his long, wavy, beautiful blonde hair which has become a running joke in the fandom. While possessing Bramblestar, he keeps all of the brown tabby tom's features save for his eyes, which are sometimes depicted as being the same navy blue as Ashfur's. In the I Spoil series, he looks almost identical, but with more detailed markings, simplistic black-and-white eyes, and no visible nose.

Biography[]

Shorts[]

Firestar and Sandstorm[]

Firestar annouces that he ans Sandstorm will be leaving for three months on StarClan's orders, leaving Graystripe in charge of ThunderClan while he's gone. Dustpelt says everyone knows Firestar is leaving to go back to being a kittypet, and Ashfur adds that it's because he's scared of Brambleclaw. Graystripe asks why Firestar would still be afriad of brambleclaw, and Ashfur tells him to read The New Prophecy, saying it was already out when Firestar's Quest - the book in which Firestar leaves - takes place

Rainwhisker[]

When Brackenfur asks if anyone wants to join his hunting party, Spiderleg replies that it's freezing cold, and Ashfur adds that the fresh kill pile can wait. Brackenfur then asks what Ashfur, Spiderleg and Thornclaw are doing, and Thornclaw explains that they're huddling for warmth.

Sleep In[]

Ashfur asks Spiderleg to watch over his apprentice Lionpaw for the day, saying he'll be busy stalking Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw when they go on a stroll later while pulling out a knife. Spiderleg tells him to have fun, and he replies that he won't.

Ashfur and Squirrelflight have a nice chat[]

Ashfur confronts Squirrelflight and her kits during a forest fire, announcing his intent to make her watch the three burn to pay for her rejection. Squirrelflight rhetorically asks him if he thinks killing them over a relationship that lasted two weeks is going overboard, and he responds that she wouldn't thinks that if she knew how he felt, dramatically stating that he feels as if the blood is pouring out of his heart.

Squirrelflight reiterates that they dated for two weeks three years ago. He tells her not to remind him of how he's hurt her and says that it will all be over soon. She then asks if he's considered the fact that his murderous and vengeful nature is why he can't keep a girlfriend, and he argues that she left him for Brambleclaw, to which Squirrelflight describes how Brambleclaw is "the size of a badger" and "could throw (her) across a football field". Ashfur interprets this as her calling him a manlet and declares that her kits will die.

She interrupts him and reveals that the kits aren't hers, and are just the kits that Leafpool and Yellowfang guilt-tripped her into raising. Ashfur laments that by Warrior Cats standards, that means she doesn't love them as her own children, and Squirrelflight supports that claim by adding that the three she raised from birth are meaningless to her as Hollyleaf and Lionblaze look down sadly. Ashfur then lets all four of them out of the fire and apologizes, saying that he'll just need to get his revenge some time later. He then asks Hollyleaf what she's doing later as the black she-cat starts revving up a chainsaw.

Ashfur's Trial[]

Brindleface welcomes Ashfur to StarClan, and confused by how he died, the latter asks if the water in the stream he was next to was poisoned. She says it probably was, but then pulls out a copy of Sunrise and tells him that Hollyleaf killed him by biting into his throat. He then asks if he gets to spend the afterlife rolling around in StarClan, and Brindleface awkwardly reveals that he needs to go on trial for what he did.

During the trial, he protests that he didn't do anything wrong, but Cinderpelt reminds him that he worked together with Hawkfrost to lead Firestar into a fox trap, taking one of his lives. He replies that he was really stressed out that day, and Yellowfang says they all have days like that. Frostfur then brings up how brutally he trained Lionblaze during his apprenticeship, and he says he got a bit carried away. Frostfur holds up a picture of Ashfur and Lionpaw covered in blood, remarking that it isn't just "getting a bit carried away", and he says it was just a little mistake. Yellowfang remarks that he's sorry, and asks why they have to hold trials in the first place if it just makes the person put on trial sad. Whitestorm retorts that they're making an attempted murderer sad, and Yellowfang asks if he can see the remorse on Ashfur's face. Finally, Thrushpelt mentions how he tried making Hollyleaf, Jayfeather and Lionblaze burn to death in a fire, and he explains that he did so to hurt Squirrelflight. The StarClan cats reply that they do that all the time, deciding to let him in.

How to go to StarClan[]

While visiting StarClan, Jayfeather spots Ashfur there and asks Yellowfang why he's there instead of the Dark Forest. Yellowfang responds that it's because he's dead, missing the point of Jayfeather's question. Ashfur notices the two talking about him and leaves. Jayfeather tells her that he's evil and tried to kill people, and Yellowfang retorts that she's killed people as well, and so have Lionblaze and Hollyleaf, adding that the warrior code states that they can kill anyone for any reason. Jayfeather again brings up the fact that Ashfur is evil, but Yellowfang brushes this off by saying that Mudclaw is evil as well, and is also in StarClan.

Ashfur Dies[]

After returning to ThunderClan, Hollyleaf is asked by Thornclaw if she killed Ashfur. Remembering killing him with a chainsaw while he was distracted reading a Cosmopolitan magazine, she admits that she did. Thornclaw is angry at this, telling Hollyleaf that Ashfur was his friend and the two of them used to watch football together, asking her how she could kill him. She begins to relay that she found a chainsaw and snuck up on him while he was alone, before Brambleclaw interrupts and lies that he witnessed the event. He claims that Ashfur was eating by the river when Hollyleaf came up to him and said "howdy", scaring him and causing him to fall into the river. He was then bitten by fourteen pikes before washing up dead on the river's shore.

Being Dead[]

While visiting StarClan, Squirrelflight and Leafpool reunite with Hollyleaf, who reveals she's now best friends with Ashfur. Squirrelflight, confused, reminds Hollyleaf of how he tried to kill her. She laughs, and says she actually killed him afterwards, which shocks Squirrelflight, who was never informed of this.

Shadowpaw Appears[]

While not named, Ashfur shows up to Shadowpaw as a black outline of a cat and says he can read the medicine cat apprentice's thoughts. Shadowpaw challenges this by asking him to say what he's thinking about right now, and Ashfur admits that he can't actually read minds, but says that he has an important mission for Shadowpaw. The latter asks why he was chosen, and the StarClan cat says that he could probably come up with a reason on his own. Shadowpaw concludes that it's because StarClan hates him, and Ashfur confirms this.

He then tells Shadowpaw to seek out and destroy any and all cats who've broken the warrior code, and when Shadowpaw repeatedly suggests Breezepelt, Ashfur says no. He then gives Dovewing as an example, saying that she's had two boyfriends, but when Shadowpaw asks if she's had them at the same time, Ashfur denies this, says that's impossible and telling the medicine cat to be reasonable. Ashfur then brings up Lionblaze, who was briefly friends with a WindClan cat named Heathertail in his childhood, and when the apprentice asks what he's up to now, the StarClan cat responds that he doesn't know or care. Finally he brings up Squirrelflight, who he claims looked at him funny once. Shadowpaw points out that all the examples given seem very biased and directed towards only cats who are or were in ThunderClan, not sure what he's supposed to do about it. Ashfur instructs him to tell everyone that their crimes won't go unpunished, which Shadowpaw hesitantly accepts. When telling his father about what he's been told, Shadowpaw is asked to never speak again, upsetting Ashfur.

Bramblestar comes back[]

After losing a life from being buried in snow at Shadowpaw's suggestion, Bramblestar's body is possessed by the spirit of Ashfur. Squirrelflight is confused and annoyed that they had just held a vigil for the leader, and the possessed tom says that he's back now. He then asks her to teach him how to lead again, claiming to have forgotten, and Squirrelflight reluctantly agrees to do so. "Bramblestar" then says that he loves spending time with his family, causing the ginger she-cat to become concerned and ask him if he needs to go to the medicine den. He aggressively says no, saying that he hates the medicine den and has no sons (referring to Jayfeather and Alderheart), and Squirrelflight calms down and says that he's ok.

Tigerstar then arrives and asks ThunderClan how their dead leader is, to which "Bramblestar" announces that he's alive and is going to punish the ShadowClan leader for breaking the warrior code. Tigerstar retorts that he has no power over ShadowClan, with the possessed leader arguing that he will if it's ThunderClan tomorrow. Tigerstar teases him by asking if he's going to slowly crawl over to him as the two begin laughing menacingly to each other. In the post-credits scene, "Bramblestar" asks someone to get his favorite beer for him, denying a Corona light that's offered to him and stating that he preferers Genus now as his eyes flash blue.

One Man Bramblestar Defense Squad[]

As ThunderClan cats begin to suspect that something's wrong with Bramblestar, Bristlefrost insists that he's fine. "Bramblestar", meanwhile, is laying down next to Squirrelflight, who says she needs to go do her job. The false leader begs her to stay, and begrudgingly she does so, commenting that she's watching the fresh-kill pile dwindle. She then looks to Stormcloud and Bristlefrost and mouths the words "Help me. Hello? Help me!" Bristlefrost argues that he's only acting that way because he just lost a life. Molewhisker then says that he got put into the "time-out hole" for sneezing too loudly, and the gray she-cat reasons that he was disturbing the leader and that he's just enforcing the rules. Flipclaw adds that he was put in the hole for being ugly, and Bristlefrost compares herself to him and says "Bramblestar" couldn't be blamed. Cinderheart then asks Bristlefrost what happened to the spots on her fur, and the young warrior explains that having spots is now against the warrior code, so she absorbed them out of sheer purity.

Deputy Time[]

"Bramblestar" announces that Squirrelflight has been exiled, and when Dewnose asks where she is, the leader tells him to be quiet and that nobody cares, calling him Dewwhisker. Dewnose corrects him, and the brown tabby tells him to be quiet once more, this time calling him Dewsnow, and says that getting his son's name wrong is a consistent flaw of his. Bristlefrost changes the subject by asking who the new deputy will be now that Squirrelflight is gone, asking if it can be her. He says no because he wants her to be his spy, but before he can finish his sentence he realizes what he's about to say and covers it up by claiming he needs someone with experience teaching an apprentice. Bumblestripe and Berrynose volunteer, with the latter reminding "Bramblestar" that he was his apprentice. Stating his fondness for nepotism, the false leader chooses Berrynose as the deputy

Berrynose doesn't find Ghosts[]

"Bramblestar" is briefly seen in the background while Berrynose interviews Honeyfur, where Ashfur exits the body he'd been possessing as it falls to the ground and off a ledge. He then appears again at the end, repossessing Bramblestar's body and floating in the air while spinning and surrounded with a purple aura, now having blue eyes as Berrynose is disappointed that he couldn't find anything unusual.

Shadowsight Video[]

"Bramblestar" runs towards Shadowsight on his hind legs and throws him into a trash can before kicking him multiple times. He then throws comments about Shadowsight at him before picking him up and running - still on his hind legs - to multiple dangerous areas including a body of water with a shark in it and a volcano, contemplating where to throw the medicine cat. He settles on dropping him off a cliff into a pit of spikes as Rootspring, Bristlefrost, and a white cat labeled "you" meant to represent the viewer watch in horror. "Bramblestar" then throws Shadowsight off, and miraculously the ShadowClan tom survives.

Flipclaw[]

Flipclaw tells Shellfur and Plumstone about a dream he had were Bramblestar was possessed, but before he can finish the faux leader interrupts, calling him Flipbird and telling him that something needs to be done. When Flipclaw corrects him about his name, "Bramblestar" ignores him and tells him he has somewhere to be. Flipclaw assumes he means the pit, but the possessed tom instead tells him that he's a medicine cat now and needs to take the exiled Jayfeather's place, claiming that it's because he had a prophetic dream. Flipclaw asks if that means his dream about the possession was true, but "Bramblestar" claims that the dream actually means that he needs to be harsher on codebreakers. The tabby tom then announces this to Alderheart, who's annoyed by this and tells Flipclaw to give the leader deathberries, telling him that they're poppy seeds.

Parental Chat[]

"Bramblestar" announces that he's exiling Graystripe, who he specifies as Blossomfall's father, right after Blossomfall herself claims that cats she cares about don't get exiled.

New Deputy[]

"Bramblestar" requests to see his deputy Berrynose, telling him that over the two-and-a-half months he's been deputy, the possessed leader has concluded that the cream-colored tom is a creep and makes him uncomfortable, demoting him. He then chooses Bristlefrost as the new deputy, stating that she's the only other cat who knows what true turmoil and heartbreak is like.

Lionblaze and Shadowsight and Bramblestar[]

After getting defeated and taken prisoner by ShadowClan, Ashfur is taken care of by Shadowsight, since he helped him possess Bramblestar. While Shadowsight visits him, he remarks that all of his Clanmates hate him now, calling him a stinky little man. Shadowsight replies that he doesn't want trouble and is just bringing the prisoner some food, throwing a mouse at Ashfur's face. Ashfur then says the two of them are alike, and Shadowsight retorts that they have nothing in common, because he's a medicine cat while Ashfur is a ghost.

Lionblaze then appears, saying the two seem similar to him, before announcing that he's going to kill Ashfur. Shadowsight protests, and Ashfur exclaims that he'll explode if Lionblaze kills him. Lionblaze says he doesn't care and begins smacking the prisoner repeatedly. Ashfur says he's ready to explode and destroy ShadowClan's camp, encouraging Lionblaze to keep going while Shadowsight begs him to stop.

Squirrelflight Goes Swimming[]

While visiting the Moonpool to try and find the real Bramblestar's spirit, Squirrelflight encounters Ashfur, who claims to be the real one. Squirrelflight retorts that she knows he's Ashfur, and he responds that all that means is that he's more handsome on the inside. He then drags her into the Moonpool and brings her to the Dark Forest. She asks him why he's brought her here, and he comments on how romantic it is. The ginger she-cat reminds him that the Dark Forest is the cat equivalent to Hell, and he claims that she loves him, so he took her here to spend time together. Squirrelflight corrects him that he loves himself, to which Ashfur says that he's happy and that's all that matters.

A continuation[]

While either ignoring or simply not noticing Squirrelflight's attempts to escape, Ashfur tells her about how much work it is to own a labradoodle dog. He describes how easily matted they can become if their owners don't brush them every day, and how the intelligence of a poodle and appetite of a labrador make for a very needy dog. She summarizes his rant to him and then yells for someone to help her, saying he's telling her things she doesn't want to know.

I Spoil[]

Into the Wild[]

Brindleface artificially creates Ashkit, Fernkit, Tulipkit and Elderkit using alchemy. But due to her flawed methods, Tulipkit and Elderkit dissipate.

Fire and Ice[]

Brindleface takes in Fireheart's newborn nephew Cloudkit to raise alongside Ashkit and Fernkit. Later, ShadowClan's exiled leader Brokenstar comes into ThunderClan camp, and upon spotting Ashkit and his siblings, attempts to steal them, but is beat up and taken prisoner. A little while after, Ashkit, Fernkit and Cloudkit sneak out of camp to go hunting in the snow.

Rising Storm[]

Ashkit and Fernkit become warrior apprentices, getting renamed Ashpaw and Fernpaw. Fireheart chooses Dustpelt and Darkstripe respectively as their mentors. After Cloudpaw goes missing, Ashpaw wonders where he went, and Fireheart informs him that he was kidnapped by twolegs. After Fireheart and Sandstorm rescue Cloudpaw, Ashpaw is there to hear him claim he only stayed with the twolegs because they help him at gunpoint, which he and his Clanmates - save for Darkstripe - believe.

A Dangerous Path[]

After Fireheart and Sandstorm find that Tigerstar has killed Brindleface to give his dog pack a taste for cat blood, Ashpaw and Fernpaw are sent to bury her body, which traumatizes them. Fireheart then has Ashpaw and Fernpaw participate in a relay race against the dog pack, unintentionally teaching the former to solve his emotional problems with revenge.

The Darkest Hour[]

During the battle against BloodClan, Ashpaw kills BloodClan's deputy Bone alongside Bramblepaw and Tawnypaw.

Firestar's Quest[]

When Firestar's old friend Smudge comes looking for him, Ashpaw and Bramblepaw start beating him up.

Dawn[]

In ThunderClan camp, which has been relocated to Sunningrocks due to twolegs destroying the forest, Ashfur is the only one happy to see Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw back after being on a journey for four months. A few days later, Ashfur remarks to Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw that he suspects the RiverClan warrior Hawkfrost of being evil, but no one believes him.

Starlight[]

At the Gathering, Squirrelflight is upset that Brambleclaw is hanging out with Hawkfrost, and after confronting him she goes to sit with Ashfur. When going to visit WindClan, Firestar and Brambleclaw get attacked by a patrol, and are saved by Ashfur, Squirrelflight and Thornclaw. After Mudclaw is crushed by a falling tree, Ashfur exclaims with the others that they now have a bridge to the island in the lake.

Twilight[]

Still at odds with Brambleclaw about Hawkfrost, Squirrelflight goes to sit with Ashfur again, which makes Brambleclaw angry. Later, he helps Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw attack a badger, even though it wasn't doing anything. Later still, he has a snowball fight with Squirrelflight until Brambleclaw shows up and starts yelling at them. The two leave, and then get attacked by a fox, which Ashfur tries and fails to bite the neck of, since the fox is a vampire. After Brambleclaw drives off the fox, Firestar takes the three of them with him to visit WindClan.

Squirrelflight appreciates Ashfur wanting to fight all her battles for her, but then changes her mind to have the story make Brambleclaw look better in comparison. Ashfur then becomes Birchpaw's mentor. Later, Ashfur helps look for Leafpool when she runs off with the WindClan warrior Crowfeather.

Sunset[]

Squirrelflight randomly decides to break up with Ashfur and get back together with Brambleclaw. This confuses Ashfur, as Brambleclaw has spent the past few books treating her poorly, while the gray tom has had a far more positive relationship with her. Later, Brambleclaw becomes ThunderClan's new deputy, and realizing he's in a hastily-written book aimed at preteens, Ashfur shouts that's nonsense. Later still, Ashfur bursts into the medicine den to tell Leafpool that Firestar is stuck in a skee ball machine at Chuck E. Cheese's

The Sight[]

When Hollypaw, Jaypaw and Lionpaw become apprentices, Ashfur is assigned as Lionpaw's mentor. Soon after, Lionpaw almost falls off a cliff, but Ashfur saves him.

Dark River[]

After Lionpaw's battle skills begin degrading due to his exhaustion caused by sneaking out to hang out with Heatherpaw every night, Ashfur punishes him by having him repeatedly jump up and down alone.

Outcast[]

Ashfur compliments Lionpaw in the most uninterested ways possible, making his apprentice unsettled. In one instance, Ashfur tells him he did a great job while sharpening a knife. He later gets enraged when Lionpaw masters a new battle move immediately, complaining that it's supposed to take time to learn these things, and telling his apprentice to stop disregarding canon. The two then fight until Brackenfur breaks them up, after which Ashfur unenthusiastically tells Lionpaw he's a great fighter. Lionpaw cheerfully responds that his mentor is so supportive. Hollypaw then tries telling Brambleclaw that there's something wrong with how Ashfur is training Lionpaw, but he laughs it off and replies that Ashfur has never done anything wrong.

Long Shadows[]

Lionblaze asks Ashfur for help in grinding exp, and his confused former mentor asks why if he's already level forty. Lionblaze just says "Because", and Ashfur agrees. Firestar then catches them and gives them red cards for training without an apprentice. Later, after Sol takes over ShadowClan, a patrol Ashfur leads reluctantly takes Tawnypelt and her three kits to shelter in ThunderClan. Later still, Squirrelflight yells at Ashfur for interrupting Brambleclaw and accidentally getting put on two patrols because his hair is too flashy. Jayfeather comments on how it seems the two of them have unresolved baggage.

During Hollyleaf's, Jayfeather's and Lionblaze's birthday party, the candles on the cake light the camp on fire. The three get trapped inside alongside Squirrelflight, who pushes down a tree to help them get across to safety. Ashfur interrupts, ranting about how unrealistic it is for a cat to knock down a tree. Squirrelflight says she doesn't care if it's unrealistic, pointing out how they're talking cats, and their leaders get nine lives. Ashfur retorts that he doesn't have a problem with a lack of realism, but with a lack of immersion, saying she doesn't know how painful it is for him to be a fan of Warrior Cats. Squirrelflight tells him not to blame the characters for how the authors write them, but he says that cats having super powers would have never happened before The Power of Three, picking up Hollyleaf, Jayfeather and Lionblaze and saying they need to die, preparing to throw them into the fire. Squirrelflight tells him that even if he kills the three, there will still be other cats with superpowers, while letting it slip that Leafpool is actually the trio's birth mother. She then realizes what she just said, and Ashfur announces that he's going to tell everyone, backflipping through the fire.

Afterwards, Ashfur asks Firestar to attend the next Gathering, intending to reveal the secret there, which makes the three panic. Lionblaze tries to talk him out of it by threatening him, but it doesn't work. Jayfeather then goes into his dreams to try and talk him out of it as well, but since it's a dream, Ashfur doesn't listen. The night of the Gathering, Ashfur goes missing, and soon after his Clanmates see his corpse floating down the river.

Sunrise[]

While inspecting Ashfur's body to find any clues as to how he died, Leafpool discovers a $40 receipt for scented soap from Bath and Body Works in his wallet. She knows it's not his though, because Ashfur hated soap, and then hides the receipt when she realizes it belonged to Hollyleaf. Meanwhile, Ashfur's Clanmates think that WindClan was behind his murder, with Ferncloud claiming no one hated him because he never did a single thing wrong in his life. When they go to WindClan though, the deputy Ashfoot tells them that she saw Sol hanging around her Clan's territory recently.

The ThunderClan cats then assume Sol did it, and Firestar asks Leafpool if she can communicate with Ashfur's spirit to find out the truth, but she denies, saying she doesn't want to talk to him. Soon after, they find Sol and discover that he had nothing to do with the murder. Hollyleaf later confronts Leafpool about being her mother, and the medicine cat pulls out the receipt, revealing she knew her daughter was behind Ashfur's murder, which Hollyleaf admits. Soon after, Jayfeather bursts into the medicine den and tells Leafpool he knows why she's upset, claiming she was the one to kill Ashfur. She says no though, and he then realizes she's his mother. After Hollyleaf reveals that she and her brothers are the children of Leafpool and Crowfeather at the Gathering, her brothers ask why she did that, and she thinks they're talking about killing Ashfur. Jayfeather then uses his powers to look into her memories, where he sees Hollyleaf twirling a mustache after tying Ashfur to some railroad tracks. Lionblaze then mumbles that compared to everything else, that's actually the least terrible thing she's done.

Sign of the Moon[]

While Jayfeather visits StarClan, Yellowfang tries convincing him not to go to the Tribe of Rushing Water by taking him on a walk. During it, he sees Ashfur's spirit, and Yellowfang tells him that he went to StarClan because he did nothing wrong, which prompts Jayfeather to leave.

The Forgotten Warrior[]

While visiting the Moonpool alone, Jayfeather tracks down Ashfur in StarClan, but Bluestar stops him from talking to him. The medicine cat explains that he wants to hear Ashfur's opinion on Hollyleaf now that he hates his sister for not talking to him, but Bluestar says he doesn't want that. Jayfeather then asks why Ashfur was let into StarClan anyways, and Bluestar explains that it isn't their place to judge others unless they're she-cats, which the medicine cat agrees with.

Later, after Hollyleaf is found alive and brought back to ThunderClan, she's about to tell her Clanmates about how she killed Ashfur by effortlessly shooting him in the head, but Brambleclaw interrupts and lies that he actually had an accident by the river, with no one acknowledging how he was found with a large wound in his throat.

Quotes[]

Ashfur: Oh, come on!
Squirrelflight: What?
Ashfur: This is unrealistic! Cats can't knock over a huge tree!
Squirrelflight: I don't care what's realistic to cats, Ashfur. We can talk. We get nine lives.
Ashfur: My quarrel was never with realism, Squirrelflight. It was with immersion! It always has been!
Squirrelflight: This arc's been going on for five books Ashfur, I had no idea you were upset.
Ashfur: Upset? I'm not upset. You have no idea how much pain I'm in, being a Warrior Cats fan.
Squirrelflight: Enough, Ashfur. Your quarrel is with the authors. Don't blame the characters for this.
Ashfur: No. This kind of thing would have never happened before this arc. These kits need to die.
~ Ashfur trying to kill Hollyleaf, Jayfeather and Lionblaze for being "unrealistic"
Oh man, and according to the Warrior Cats book of family relationships, you can't possibly love cats that are unrelated to you. Dang...
~ Ashfur upon finding out that Hollyleaf, Jayfeather and Lionblaze are adopted
Ashfur: Take a good look. This is Dovewing. She's had two boyfriends!
Shadowpaw: At the same time?
Ashfur: No, no! Of course not! You can't even do that, be reasonable! Here's Lionblaze. He briefly platonically visited a girl that he wasn't supposed to see in his childhood.
Shadowpaw: What does he do now?
Ashfur: Don't care. Anyways, here's Squirrelflight. She looked at me funny.
Shadowpaw: These seem sorta personal, and uh, ThunderClan, so... I'm not really sure what I can do about it?
Ashfur: You can go tell them and everyone else that their crimes will not go unpunished.
~ Ashfur giving Shadowpaw a list of cats who need to "be punished"
"Bramblestar": I'm back! And it's great to see you again, Squirrelflight!
Squirrelflight: But... you were just dead. We had a funeral. Eugh, this isn't fair...
"Bramblestar": And now I'm back! And I'm your leader! Would you like to teach me how to do my job again? I've... forgotten.
Squirrelflight: I guess...? It's not like that sounds like a terrible time, or anything...
"Bramblestar": Yes! I love spending time with my family!
Squirrelflight: A-are you ok? Need to go to the medicine den, maybe?
"Bramblestar": Wait, no, not that family, I hate it there! I have no sons!
Squirrelflight: Oh, ok, you're fine.
~ Ashfur possessing and posing as Bramblestar
Announcement time! I need Berrynose here. (...) Berrynose. You've been my deputy for two and a half months now, and I've decided that you're some sort of creep. I think you actually make me uncomfortable. (...) The new deputy is Bristlefrost. The only cat in the Clan who understands what true turmoil and heartbreak is like.
~ "Bramblestar" demoting Berrynose as deputy and replacing him with Bristlefrost
Hello there, Shadowsight. All of your Clanmates hate you now, eh? Because you're awful? Because you're a stinky, awful little man?
~ Ashfur taunting Shadowsight when he visits
Lionblaze: Now stay where you are. I'm getting rid of Ashfur once and for all.
Shadowsight: You can't kill him!
Ashfur: If you kill me, I'll explode!
Shadowsight: See? If you kill him, he'll explode.
(Lionblaze begins repeatedly smacking Ashfur)
Lionblaze: I don't care! Take that you villain, you monster!
Ashfur: Heheheheh! I'm so ready to explode! And take out ShadowClan camp! Do it, Lionblaze! Destroy me!
~ Ashfur when Lionblaze tries to kill him
Squirrelflight: (Sighs) Why... did you do that?
Ashfur: Romantic, right?
Squirrelflight: "Romantic." I don't think you understand; this is the Dark Forest. We are now in cat Hell.
Ashfur: Uhh, but you love me? Now we can spend time together.
Squirrelflight: No, that's- that's you who loves you. I think you got us confused again.
Ashfur: Oh. Yeah, well, I'm happy with this arrangement, and that's all that matteres.
~ Ashfur upon bringing Squirrelflight to the Dark Forest
Well, see, there's actually a multitude of problems with doodles overall. The first is that nobody brushes them, even though their hair gets super matted super quickly. Mixing two different types of dog fur makes a creature that becomes matted and encased in its own pelt without frequent brushing. Golden doodles especially are bad about this. People will come into a grooming salon and beg the groomer not to shave them down to look poodle-ish, but they don't take the time to brush them. That's how you get a naked dog. Not a poodle-doodle, just a wholly naked animal. And then in the case of labradoodles, you're adding the labrador's food obsession to the poodle's emotional intelligence. You're making an animal who wants to eat all the time and knows how to manipulate you into getting it. You're also mixing two working dogs together and getting a pet who needs to be stimulated and entertained all the time, and they're going to let that energy out one way or another. When getting a pure-bred puppy from a reputable breeder, a lot of what you're paying for is the cost of health testing the parents and properly socializing the puppies. But largely doodles of all types are from un-health tested puppy mills dogs, and you won't be able to prepare for any sort of future health problems they might have. Responsible poodle breeders don't even let their dogs go to doodle breeders, which undermines the whole idea of getting a well-bred doodle. And if that wasn't enough, they're not actually all that good for allergies. You can't just mix something with a poodle to make it hypoallergenic. The other dog's fur doesn't go away. The man who created the breed and coined the term labradoodle calls the dogs his life's regret. He's incredibly ashamed of the effect his experiment had, especially when it comes to just how many unhealthy and poorly behaved dogs came out of it.
