Axem Red, or simply known as Red, is a major antagonist in the popular 2006 flash animation series, Super Mario Bros. Z, originally created by Mark Haynes/Alvin Earthworm.
He is the leader of the Axem Rangers X, an elite team of five skilled battle robots created by their hegemonic master, Smithy, and their main purpose is to make him more powerful to conquer the universe easily.
Biography[]
Red, along with the other Axem Rangers X, are robots working for Smithy to help him take over the universe. However, upon being defeated by Mario, Smithy revived and upgraded them. The Axem Rangers X began searching the Mushroom Kingdom to find a power source that could restore Smithy's power. While doing so, they learned about a Chaos Emerald on Yoshi's Island.
In order to take the Chaos Emerald, Red and the other Axem Rangers X disguised themselves as Yoshis, before invading Yoshi's Island and enslaving most of the Yoshis, forcing them to dig up more Chaos Emeralds, only to find nothing. While doing so, Mario and his allies arrived and rescued the Yoshis, before taking the Chaos Emerald, only for it to be stolen by the Koopa Bros. However, the Axem Rangers X retrieved the Chaos Emerald, starting a fight between all three parties.
During this battle, Red attempted to kill Mario using the Axem Rangers X's warship, Blade, by firing the Breaker Beam at him and using the Chaos Emerald to power it. Much to his shock, while he did miss, he ended up destroying a large chunk of Yoshi's Island. He then prepared to fire again, but the battle was interrupted by Turbo Mecha Sonic, who overpowered the Breaker Beam and destroyed Blade, taking the Chaos Emerald for himself in the process.
Red immediately demanded Mecha Sonic to return the Chaos Emerald, as well as hand over a second Chaos Emerald that was stolen from the Koopa Bros., but Mecha Sonic refused, and instead used his newfound Chaos Emeralds to transform into his Semi-Super form and fight them. While Red was able to somewhat hold his own, the rest of the Axem Rangers X were easily killed by Mecha Sonic. Red then summoned a massive laser cannon and fired it at Mecha Sonic, only for it to have no effect. Mecha Sonic immediately followed up by beating up Red, before firing a massive energy beam at him, destroying him.
Trivia[]
- It is confirmed by Word of God that in the cancelled Smithy Saga, Red and the other Rangers would be planned to brought back to life by Smithy while creating a new member of the group, Axem Blue. Had this would happen, Red's status could have changed depending on how the series continue.
