Baldi is the titular main antagonist of AndyBTTF's (now named Cubical) Baldi's Basic Minecraft animation series, serving as the main antagonist of Basics in Behavior and Baldi's Basics The Musical.
He is a math teacher who initially acted friendly and kind towards the main character. However, if the main character tries to collect the seven notebooks and gets the questions in the notebooks wrong, Baldi will become very angry and will do anything to catch and punish the main character for his mistakes. He is the archenemy of the main character.
In Baldi's Basics the Musical, his singing voice was provided by Nathan Morse, one of the founders of Random Encounters.
Biography[]
Basics in Behavior[]
Baldi is first seen teaching math to several students. However, he found that one of the students, who was the main character, was sleeping during class time. Angry, Baldi hits the main character's desk and wakes him up, then locks the classroom door and forces him to pay attention to the lesson. Baldi returned to explain the lesson and gave several math problems to the students. The main character managed to answer the question correctly and he was given a prize in the form of a quarter from Baldi. When the main character is answering a question, Baldi slowly takes his ruler and appears behind the main character, possibly to punish him for not being able to answer the question.
The next day, at school, Baldi greets the main character, which the main character ignores indifferently. Baldi beckons the main character to collect seven notebooks, which the main character immediately does. However, when the main character is still looking for other notebooks, Baldi suddenly appears with an angry expression and a ruler, forcing the main character to look for notebooks while avoiding Baldi's pursuit. Baldi continues to chase the main character through the school hallways and school cafeteria, while the main character himself faces other characters such as Playtime, Gotta Sweep, 1st Prize, Arts and Crafters, and Principal of the Thing. Finally, after struggling to find all the notebooks, the main character managed to get all the seven notebooks and now he just needs to escape from the school. However, as he starts leaving the classroom, Baldi appears and turns the entire inside of the school red. The main character tries to escape from school, but every school door is suddenly blocked by a wall, forcing the main character to look for another way out. While still trying to find a way out, the main character is helped by Gotta Sweep by pushes him out into an unblocked door, while Baldi just watches angrily as the main character manages to get out of the school. Outside, the main character looks towards the door, showing an Baldi's frustated face. But then, a school bus appears in front of the main character, followed by Baldi who appears who then wears a camping hat, inviting the main character to camp with him. The main character can only go camping with Baldi reluctantly.
Baldi's Basics The Musical[]
After the main character inserts the Baldi's Basics game CD into his computer, he is teleported into the game, where Baldi greets him and orders him to find the seven notebooks. Baldi also warns the main character several times not to answer the questions wrong. However, in the end, the main character answered one question wrong, causing Baldi to become angry and start chasing the main character while hitting his ruler, making the main character scared and trying to run away from Baldi while looking for another notebooks.
Baldi is seen again when the main character is intercepted by Playtime who invites him to play jump rope, forcing the main character to play jump rope. Even though he tried, the main character always failed at jumping rope, while Baldi was getting closer to him. Frustrated because he couldn't complete the jump rope and Baldi was getting closer, the main character threw Playtime's jump rope at Baldi, making Playtime sad but also slowing Baldi's movements. Baldi is seen again several times still trying to catch the main character. When the main character manages to collect all the notebooks, Baldi becomes faster in his pursuit and can even teleport in front of the main character. As the main character runs towards the exit, the door is blocked by a wall, cornering the main character. Shortly before he managed to catch and punish the main character, Baldi grinned evilly before finally he seemed to have succeeded in catching the main character.
Appearance[]
Baldi is a tall, slender humanoid with long arms, fair skin, huge black eyes, red lips, and thin brown eyebrows. He has a big smily face (later wrathful face if the players get his questions wrong) and his mouth is incredibly red. He wears a long-sleeved green shirt, blue pants, and light brown shoes. Despite being seen as bald, he has one string of brown hair, which is often mistaken for a third eyebrow.
Personality[]
Initially, Baldi seems like a friendly, supportive, and kind math teacher, as he gifts the main character a quater and also greets the main character in a friendly manner when he enters the school. However, in reality, Baldi is a very fierce, ruthless, wrathful, psychotic, strict, pushy and insane teacher. He will become very angry when the main character answers the question he is given wrong and will continue to chase the main character endlessly so that he can be punished by being hit with his ruler. Baldi also seems strict and a bit pushy, because when he finds the main character falling asleep while he is teaching, he immediately hits his desk to wake him up and forces him to attend the lesson by locking the classroom door. His pushy nature is still there even after he loses, forcing the main character to go camping with him after the main character manages to escape. Perhaps even worse, Baldi seems to enjoy punishing his students, because when the main character is cornered, Baldi grins evilly and prepares to punish the innocent child.
