Bat-Mite is the overarching antagonist of crossover15's The Boys: Real Justice, a crossover fanfic between the Boys tv series and the main DC comics at an uncertain time. It is revealed at the end he is the one responsible for the fanfic's storyline, having used his powers to force the two universes to collide. His motivation was simply so the Justice League and Batman could show up the Seven and discover how well the Boys could thrive in a traditional superhero setting.
Bat-Mite is an Imp from the 5th Dimension, giving him the power to warp reality and witness other dimensions as comic books and even see past the fourth wall at times. Bat-Mite is Batman's self-proclaimed "Biggest Fan" and has a tendency to involve himself in the Caped Crusader's adventures. Bat-Mite is not a villain and has well-meaning intentions but he unfortunately tends to make things worse, coming across more like a pest than an ally.
Because of his interference, it results in the Seven and multiple supes from Vought becoming exposed and depowered and due to the Boys inability to even intimidate the villains of Gotham, Bat-Mite subtly manipulates probability and saves their lives a number of times. At the story's conclusion, Batman discovers Bat-Mite's involvment and has him cease his involvment as his actions have caused the death of many innocent lives.
He is an antagonist as his actions in the fic resulted in multiple innocent people and characters deaths.
Foreshadowing[]
The fic keeps the culprit behind the crossover's a mystery until the end but there are multiple hints as to Bat-Mite's identity throughout the fic.
- It would have to be someone with either the power or technology to create a rift between dimensions. Something Bat-Mite has the power to do thanks to his realty manipulating powers.
- Compound V is the only thing that makes Earth 7 of interest but due to Earth 7 being severely less powerful than Earth 1 and offers no tactical advantage, meaning characters like Brainiac or Darkseid would find no reason to interact with, seeing it as below them.
- Lex Luthor, the only supervillain from Earth 7 who could cause this level of dimensional travel, confesses he is not responsible for the situation. He's only taking advantage of it. And even then, he was the only one who could find any use for Earth 7.
- Luthor discovers that some mysterious ally has been preventing the Boys from being either killed or permanently incapacitated multiple times. The most obvious example is that when the Boys "join" members of the Suicide Squad, their nanite explosives just vanish for some reason when Waller activates them.
- Another is that despite the circumstances, the Boys are consistently pushed towards Batman related events like Gotham City and the Suicide Squad.
- And the fact that Earth 7 lacks the knowledge, let alone the technology, to travel dimensions.
- Due to the inevitable lack of interest in Earth 7 from powerful beings like Darkseid and the confession from Luthor, the only logical conclusion for someone to find this Earth would be for a powerful being's entertainment. Something that fits Bat-Mite's character.
