Batman, or better known by others as the Vampire Bat, is the titular main antagonist of the 2022 horror-thriller fanfic The Vampire Bat, which is a horror au of the famous DC superhero Batman.
Unlike his canon counterpart, this version of him is a demonic entity that didn't come to save Gotham but to take it over and all because Bruce Wayne never became him in this timeline due to his parents never going down the alleyway, which unintentionally led to Batman wanting to capture Bruce as a blood debt but deciding to kill everyone else and takeover Gotham first.
Because of this, he's instead the archenemy of Bruce Wayne and the leader of The Arkham Knights.
Early Life[]
Nothing much is known about his time in the demon world but it's been believed that he was an overlord there and he ruled his side with fear, although he was getting bored of that.
However, that changed when the League of Shadows summoned him in order to rid Gotham of corruption but that was their biggest mistake as he didn't follow their orders and just attacked them for daring to control him.
After doing this, he started exploring the world sometimes but ended up coming across other monsters like him and they were Catwoman, Joker, Hatter, Scarecrow, Pyg, and Croc.
Despite not caring for them, he still recruited them since they're the only ones obeying him and he formed a group with them called The Arkham Knights while also choosing Catwoman as his mate, much to her happiness.
After forming the group, he heard about Gotham City and the reason why he was summoned, causing him to develop an obsession with the protagonist Bruce Wayne but also a hatred for Gotham City.
He then decided to wait for 20 years until the time is right to initiate his plan to capture Bruce, takeover Gotham, and even kill anyone who gets in his way, especially both law and corruption.
The Vampire Bat[]
20 years later, Batman and his crew attack Arkham Asylum and take it over via killing both guards and inmates while saving Hugo Strange for last only to attack him too and are believed to have either killed him or given him a fate worse than death, which was better off never explained.
In the now conquered asylum, they were taking a break and waiting for the right time to strike but got bored and decided to attack others one by one while making sure that Bruce and his group don't notice them yet.
More coming soon.
Personality[]
Unlike his canon counterpart, this version of Batman is a sadistic, twisted, abusive, and malicious monster that actually hates humanity for unknown reasons and only desires to either destroy them or conquer them.
Other than that, he seems to slightly abuse his own group as well for some little reasons other than punishing them for disobedience or even for honest mistakes that he sees as failure or uselessness.
Despite this, he does consider the group as his closest friends and still keeps them around due to their loyalty to him while also being honorable enough to accept a deal with Bruce Wayne.
Other than that, he slightly cares for Bruce as his other half and thinks he's giving him an attitude adjustment while also having standards against other stuff that he doesn't usually do.
Appearance[]
He resembles Batman's Nightmare suit from the Arkham Knight game, the one that he currently uses to scare criminals and was confirmed to be the perfect look for him.
Trivia[]
- Just like Spider-Man, Batman only speaks 2 lines in the opening and ending while choosing to mostly be silent during the whole story, probably for scary effects and seeing no need to talk to others.
- Whenever he does speak, his voice is implied to be a monstrous and scary version of the late Kevin Conroy's voice, which is fitting since he's a demon and this was to honor the late voice actor.
- Despite the story's title, he doesn't even act like a vampire at all and never once turns anyone into vampires but he does seem to only attack at nighttime and only uses the shadows, although he is unharmed when being outside during daylight.
- While the ending implies a crossover sequel being made and that he is planning a team-up, there's no confirmation that he might agree to it or not, most likely being more of a rival to the other villains.
