Battra is a minor antagonist in Godzilla: Cataclysmic Kaiju Combat. He is a Rogue Divine Moth and Mothra's darker counterpart. Like Mothra, he wants to protect Earth, but unlike Mothra, he sees humanity as a hostile species that needs to go extinct before they could destroy the planet.
Biography[]
Past[]
In the past, Mothra and Battra used to work together to protect both the Earth and humanity, but when humans began destroying the planet and causing problems, Battra noticed this and started to kill them. Mothra tried to convince Battra that they can still improve and become better people, but the latter refused to listen, resulting in Mothra and Battra fighting in a destructive battle that destroyed most ancient civilizations. After that, Battra was defeated and imprisoned. Although humanity cheered, Mothra was remorseful for having to imprison Battra.
1992 Conflict[]
In 1992, the larval Battra awoken in South America after sensing something coming from outer space, but soon turned his attention to the humans and started to attack them, forgetting about the anomaly. Later, he encountered Godzilla and the two monsters fought out at the sea, going so far to go underwater, clashing until an active underwater volcano erupted and opened up a crater, with the two monsters falling inside.
Mothra sensed that Battra has returned and fought Godzilla, along with a source of malevolence approaching the Earth. This worried her, as she didn't want Godzilla and Battra to fight while certain doom is approaching the Earth, so she began a long journey to find them and warn them about the incoming danger. After a while, she got to Colombia, were Godzilla was destroying a city. Mothra tried to warn Godzilla about the incoming threat from outer space, but the King of the Monsters pushes her aside, as he already needs to deal with other threats from outer space. Unfortunately, Mothra had no choice but to fight Godzilla to not only stop him from destroying the city, but to get him to pay attention to the warning.
In the middle of the fight, Battra emerged from the ocean and turned into his imago form, flying towards the fight. Mothra and Godzilla stopped fighting and turned their attention to Battra. Mothra was happy at first, but was soon afraid when she noticed that Battra still wanted to destroy humanity. Godzilla was ready to fight Battra again, but this time, to the death. Battra fired prism beams from his eyes, attempting to hit Mothra with them. The divine moths took the battle to the sky, while Godzilla tried to shoot them down with his atomic breath. The fight continued until Battra was injured by multiple blasts from Godzilla's atomic breath. The monster moth fell, and Mothra flew after him. Mothra landed in front of the injured Battra, and tried again to convince him to join forces with her, protect humanity, and stop the abnormal threat that's coming. In response, Battra refuses yet again, as to him, humans are irredeemable pests that deserve everything horrible happening to them. Godzilla was approaching the two moths, preparing to finish Battra off, until something came down from the sky. Godzilla fired his atomic breath in an attempt to destroy it, but the energy body was not affected. All three monsters watched as the body of energy floated towards the ground before it stopped itself from making contact with the ground. Soon, bright lights flashed and the ground shook, as the body of energy turned into a strong, giant, bulky monster.
