“ | This world does not belong to mankind… especially after what they did to me and those I cared about. Those of magic were slaughtered, tortured, imprisoned, even forced to fight to the death. Now, they have gone too far, and the one honorable thing left to do is to destroy the world and start over… without humanity. | „ |
~ Bellroc to Nari, elaborating on the Arcane Order's goals as the latter starts to defect from them. |
Bellroc is set to be the main protagonist of Fall of the Arcane Order: Before the Tales and a major antagonist in the Misry6 rewrite of Rise of the Titans.
She is the puppet leader of the Arcane Order, the elder sister of Skrael and Nari, the elder daughter of Hades and Medusa, and the girlfriend of Nyctimus until his death.
History[]
Raised by Medusa[]
Bellroc, alongside Skrael and Nari, was born to the God of the Underworld, Hades, and a human sorceress named Medusa. However, Medusa was cursed to become a Gorgon by the Greek god Zeus alongside her sisters, and a powerful spell was inflicted upon her so that whosoever looked at her in the eyes is turned to stone. Medusa promptly raised her three children and brought them over to the wizard Mordrax, who cast a spell on them so they would not be turned to stone upon seeing her in the eyes.
However, one day, an adult demigod named Perseus infiltrated her home and beheaded Medusa, as Bellroc watched whilst hiding in a corner. She told Skrael and Nari about what happened and Hades decided to raise them himself, teaching them the ways of the balance between magic and mortal. When Bellroc turned eighteen, she decided to work at the pottery to provide for her siblings after Hades left for the time being, as their magic hasn't fully developed yet, and Hades was now involved in a meeting concerning a traitor in the Council of the Olympian Gods.
Personality[]
Unlike her canon counterpart, this version of Bellroc is shown to care greatly for her brother and sister, Skrael and Nari, with the sole reason why she wants Nari captured being to remake the Earth so that magical life can live in harmony without the interference of mankind. She also genuinely loved her boyfriend Nyctimus and went into a meltdown after seeing him murdered by his father Lycaon because of his relationship with her, just because she was half-magic.
However, her hatred of mankind caused her to join forces with Mordred alongside Skrael, and she became impulsive, controlling, and determined in wiping out mankind to recreate the world the way she saw as best. She is easily manipulated by Mordred due to her misanthropy and believed that remaking the world is the only way to find redemption for her failures and past beliefs, but she still respected Arthur Pendragon as he was the King of Camelot despite having him assist her in the Arcane Order's goals.
Trivia[]
- Unlike in the original canon where Bellroc is non-binary but referred to by female pronoums, this version of the character really is female, and it is confirmed that she got her male voice when she sold her soul to Mordred and became his servant. This version also has genuinely good intentions as explored in Fall of the Arcane Order, which further delves into her and her siblings' backstories and makes them more complex characters.
- During the events of Fall of the Arcane Order (which takes place 3,000 years before Trollhunters), Bellroc is 18 years old, and in the Rise of the Titans rewrite, she is 3,022 years old. This makes her 2,119 years old in Wizards during the time of Camelot, and 3,019 years old in Wizards during the modern-day.
- It is unknown whether or not she will have a redemption arc in the Rise of the Titans rewrite.
