Ben Wyden, formerly known as Ben Prescott and also known as Ghostface, is a major antagonist of the Scream franchise, appearing in it's fanfilms. He is an unseen antagonist of the the previous content, and the main antagonist of the 2023 fanfilm/presentation Scream Queens.
He is the son and killer of Sidney Prescott, the brother of Carla Prescott, the adoptive son and former assistant of President Jonathan Wyden, and the former partner of Laila Waterstone. His ultimate goals are to avenge the death of Carla and therefore commit a killing spree while keeping the public from knowing what he really is.
He is portrayed by Chace Crawford.
History[]
Ben was the son of Sidney Prescott and the brother of Carla Prescott, who later turned into Carla Riddlesohn. He had possible biological relations to Michael Hexer. He grew up being in a close bond with Carla, and was feeling tragic feelings about her death in the hands of Daniel Drakes, with Talia Makarov's help.
During the times in which Halloween came and therefore, Ghostface killers were everywhere on the streets, Ben took his chance as he disguises himself as Ghostface and he kills the wannabe killer Morgan Willis.
Ben then stands on the stage during President Jonathan Wyden's speech. He then speaks to Talia and Sam, who are both seemingly his good friends, growing a stronger bond with Talia. He invites them to a party which he and Jonathan organized at their house during the night. He then goes to the Thames river and in his Ghostface disguise, he brutally stabs Officer David King, before throwing him into the Thames river, and then throwing ontop of him his police vehicle, causing him to drown and bleed until he dies.
He then comes back home and he and Jonathan begin the party. While the party goes on, Samantha and her friends arrive, as he and Jonathan greet them. He discusses things with Talia, while Jonathan goes with Sam to talk privately in the yard. Jonathan reveals to her that the Ghostface is haunting their house and threatening it's inhabitants. He asks Sam if she knows who it is. She replies that she doesn't and he begs her to track the killer until the night is over. She goes back to her friends, but Ben goes to witness as Laila, disguised as the second Ghostface killer, brutally stabs Jonathan multiple times. However, after that crime scene, Ben disguises himself as a Ghostface again and kills the singer which he hired for the party, Joseph Hudson. As a result, Ben pretends to cry. The heroes and Ben then go to the park and they think of how to capture the killers. Randall suggests that they go to the close library. Ben however makes an excuse that he is supposed to have a meeting very soon and he shall join them when he can. In the meanwhile, at the same meeting he was supposed to be at, Laila kills three government officials who work with him, including Timothy Castro and Neil McMahon who took care of the Ghostface issues.
As they arrive at the library, Nesia goes to find her beloved Stab book. Laila reveals to her that she is Charlie Walker's sister, and Nesia runs, forcing Laila to stab her until she injures her and reveal she is the first killer. Laila then prepares to kill the other heroes, and when Tara tries to run the other direction, Ben stabs her before unmasking himself. It was revealed that he was the mastermind behind the plot, wanting to avenge Carla's death since he had a strong bond with her and he liked Stab content just cause she loved it. Laila then asked if she can kill the heroes. He accepted this, but when she came towards him and the others, Ben betrayed her by stabbing her too. Talia was furious at him about this, pointing out that he is an egoist just like Jill who first betrayed Sidney, and then betrayed his own loyalist Laila. Ben is outnumbered at the end, but he threatens that if anyone moves closer he shall throw his knife at Tara or Randall.
He then holds Tara hostage, readying to slice her neck, but she buys time by asking him what's his favorite scary movie, while Nesia recovers as she places a bomb nearby a string of lights to cut it into half, before she rushes to the others, as she turns off the lights and when the lights turn back on, just as he did the same trick to his first victim, before she appears right infront of Ben. Ben laughs at her strategy, remarking that he is still the one with the weapon and the upper hand as agains them. However, the bomb explodes, cutting the string of lights into half, and half of the string falls on Ben, electrocuting the madman. Ben falls on the ground after his body is heavily burnt. However, he wakes up in order to kill the Queen of England. Sam throws a knife at him, killing him.
Personality[]
Ben is seemingly a honorable boy, wanting to protect his kingdom and seemingly being the child of the president Jonathan Wyden, acting as his personal assistant and helping him around, even having fun with him. However, he is more attracted and bonded with Carla, as the two liked Stab content very much, and plotted to commit killing sprees wherever they could.
Ben was eventually revealed to be a treacherous and sadistic serial killer, ready to commit horrific crimes and kill many innocents just so he could finish what Carla has started. He was more ruthless than she was, willing to betray his partner instead of bonding with the partner. He was also a tyrant as his position was high and he threatened Sidney that he wants to perhaps be the next president before killing her.

Trivia[]
- He is the first Ghostface to be a tyrant or a sort of politician.
- He is heavily based on Jill Roberts, as they've both planned massive killing sprees, willing to do horrific crimes which are unforgiven, betraying their partners when they don't need anymore help, and they are both seen as heroes for the public until the true protagonists defeat them.
- However, while the canon Jill is not really tragic as she was all evil inside out, Ben is minor tragic, as he genuinely feels pretty sad about Carla's death.
