Bendy the Demon, also known as Bendy and Ink Bendy, is the titular main anti-heroic protagonist of EnchantedMob's BATIM Minecraft animation series, serving as the main protagonist of Build Our Machine, an unseen character in Angel of the Stage, and the main antagonist of BATIM Remix.
He is a cartoon character who takes the form of a short black demon and is often depicted as the best friend of Boris the Wolf and the love interest of Alice Angel. Bendy finally became real after his creator, Joey Drew, brought him to life using the Ink Machine.
Despite being the main protagonist, Bendy is shown to be more of an anti-hero (or rather, a villainous protagonist) than a true hero, having several times made vengeful threats towards his creator, Joey Drew. He also attempted to kill Steve out of spite against him as well.
In Build Our Machine and most parts of BATIM Remix, his singing voice was provided by Will Ryan, founder of the DAGames channel. However, in the bridge verse of BATIM Remix, his singing voice was provided by Kyle Allen.
Biography[]
Build Our Machine[]
Bendy is a cartoon character who appears in the film Bendy in the Ink Machine, where Bendy is drawn by his creator, Joey Drew. After Bendy's drawing is finished, Bendy suddenly comes to life and moves on his own, leaving Joey shocked and confused. Feeling strange about the drawing, Joey takes the drawing and throws it into a machine called the Ink Machine, making Bendy become real and arrive at the theater where Bendy in the Ink Machine is playing, surprising the audience. Bendy then started to perform, starting from playing the piano, dancing lively among the audience, and even chopping his own head off and use it as a frisbee.
Seeing Bendy's extraordinary performance, his creator, Joey Drew, decided to bring two other characters, Boris the Wolf and Alice Angel, back to life to join Bendy. Joey takes a poster of Boris and Alice and throws it into the Ink Machine, bringing Boris and Alice to life, where Alice is immediately carried by Bendy while Boris falls on the floor but is fine. The three ink creatures then ordered Joey to bring them the Ink Machine, which Joey immediately did. The three then put on an amazing performance that entertains the audience and Bendy also sings about themselves called as the "ink monsters".
The three then started their performance with a dangerous attraction where Bendy was tied to a wheel that was spun by Alice and Boris threw darts at him. However, in the middle of their performance, Bendy suddenly reacts strangely and an entity called the Ink Demon appears from Bendy, shocking Alice and Boris. The Ink Demon tries to kill Bendy and fortunately, Bendy manages to avoid his attack by jumping on the Ink Machine. The Ink Demon the turns his attention to Alice and Boris. Seeing his friends in danger, Bendy gets the idea to cut the Ink Machine's chain and drop it onto the Ink Demon. His plan succeeded with the Ink Machine falling on the Ink Demon and killing him instantly. The three then looked at the audience who were cheering and applauding them for their amazing performance. Alice, along with Bendy and Boris, then return to Joey Drew's studio using the cinema screen.
Angel of the Stage[]
Bendy himself does not appear in Angel of the Stage. However, it can be assumed that Bendy and Boris stayed in the cartoon world, while Alice moved to the real world to become the most famous star and singer in New York. Being abandoned by his love interest likely caused Bendy to change from a cheerful and caring demon to a vengeful and sadistic demon.
Bendy and the Ink Machine Remix[]
After Bendy's new creator, Steve, completes a drawing of Bendy, an ink tentacle suddenly appears and forcefully pulls Steve into the paper. Steve suddenly appears in the cartoon world itself, where he is greeted by a smiling Bendy who invites him to sing along. However, seeing Steve hesitate to sing, Bendy becomes angry and irritated, making Steve (reluctantly) sing along with Bendy and then Boris who suddenly appears. Bendy himself looks jealous seeing Steve and Boris getting close. Because of his jealousy and envy, Bendy cruelly and sadistically killed Boris when Steve was not looking and returned to acting normal and innocent in front of Steve.
However, Bendy suddenly became aggressive and angrily hit Steve. Bendy then opens a portal that leads Steve to a grave where Boris is buried. Bendy hatefully explains that he is very furious and vengeful towards Steve for creating him, making him suffer and tormented. Bendy immediately blamed Steve for his misfortune, leaving a confused Steve who could only run away from him. Seeing Steve trying to escape, Bendy goes crazy and transforms into his "Ink Bendy" form. The giant Ink Bendy chased Steve and tried to catch him with his giant hands. As Steve is cornered on the edge of a cliff, Ink Bendy changes back to normal size and evilly pushes Steve off the cliff, apparently killing him.
However, it was revealed that all of this was just a Steve's nightmare who immediately awake after dreaming he was pushed off a cliff. Steve then left the Bendy drawing, without realizing that Bendy's drawing had disappeared and suddenly Bendy's hand came out of the picture and was seen trying to escape from the paper.
Appearance[]
Bendy is a Fleischer-inspired cartoon imp with a body entirely colored in black apart from his face, which is white and bears a large toothy grin, along with large, black, pie cut eyes. He wears shiny black shoes, a white bowtie, and a pair of large white gloves, each with two black dots. Bendy's head is shaped like an oval, with the top of it being curved inwards to create the appearance of horns, which are always present in his silhouette regardless of which direction he is looking. Bendy lacks a neck, meaning that he is usually depicted with a floating head.
Personality[]
Initially, in Build Our Machine, Bendy appears to be a cheerful, entertaining, kind, loyal and friendly devil. He, just like Boris and Alice, likes to spread the fun by performing. However, unlike Alice, Bendy prefers to perform more extreme performances, such as having his limbs ripped off and tied to a spinning wheel while being thrown with darts. Bendy is also shown several times to like to sing cheerfully.
However, in BATIM Remix, Bendy become a vengeful, selfish, pushy, cruel, and uncaring monster. Bendy several times expresses his grudge and hatred towards other people, such as Joey Drew and Steve, blaming them for his suffering. Bendy actually doesn't care about his friends either, as he let Boris fall and fall to the floor when he was first created and also when he literally killed Boris because he was getting close to Steve. Bendy is also very pushy, forcing Joey to bring him his Ink Machine and also forcing Steve to sing along and follow him in the cartoon world. Bendy sometimes likes to smile evilly when he sees his victims being tortured.
Despite being extremely cruel and vengeful, Bendy still loves his love interest, Alice Angel, as he carried her when she was first created and apparently he killed the Ink Demon to save Alice, not Boris. It is possible that Alice leaving the cartoon world and abandoning her love interest is the reason why Bendy suddenly became a vengeful demon.
