Beru, the Ant King is the main antagonist of Solo Leveling: Thrill of the Hunt. He serves as the final antagonist of the Demonic Empire saga and the secondary antagonist of the Hidden Monarchs saga. He is the strongest of the Berulan Ants and later becomes a being of such power he begins to break the game.
Appearance[]
The Ant King is a towering black humanoid Berulan Ant. His eyes gleaming red with his hands humanoid in shape with long claws. His other center appendages are curled up. But can unravel into blades.
After assimilating Sung's shadow abilities, he loses his 2 central appendages, but his body becomes near wholly black, though his eyes and body glow blue, alongside that, dark energy pulsates from his body, emerging in a shadowy aura. His wings are closed, but when opened, grow to colossal size and emit blue flame.
After linking himself to Ashborn, he grows in size, and his blue glow becomes purple. His body itself also becomes even more twisted in nature.
Personality[]
The Ant King began as a sadistic, vengeful, and overall violent entity. It had no true end goal besides just kill all Hunters to avenge his Queen, who had been killed when Sung completed the Berulan Hive Dungeon. And he was willing to go to any lengths to complete this.
After assimilating more and more magic, notably Sung's dark magic, his personality began to darken, as he began to realize he was inside of a game. He, from such, became immensely spiteful towards knowing what he'd done and his life as some insectoid monstrosity was all decided by a program, and seeks to rebuild the program in his image in order to make his race the dominant faction in both the game world and outer world.
Powers & Skills[]
As the Ant King, he was already very dangerous. He had a carapace able to defend against most attacks, even highly destructive forms of magic. Alongside that, he is incredibly strong and fast, able to appear from place to place in incredibly short times.
His most notable ability though is the ability to assimilate qualities of others into himself. Such as the paralyzing poison from a snail, and also having assimilated magic from various hunters who have died to his hand, such as healing magic and ice magic.
Eventually, after absorbing some of Sung's own dark magic, the Ant King gained said dark powers, the immense strength linked to Ashborn warping him to his new form, and giving him heightened power and awareness.
In his final form in the Monarch War, he gained the ability to fully bend reality and completely break the game, bypassing HP and MP to attack directly as he desires, while reshaping the mechanics of said game to his means.
