~ Jeff's Lament |
Jeff the Killer is a well-known creepypasta character, originally created as part of internet folklore. In this reinterpretation, Jeff the Killer has been reimagined for DR (Distorted Reality), an Alternate Universe that combines various horror universes. This story of Jeff blends some elements of the original tale with the 2015 version.

Background[]
Jeffrey Benjamin Woods was born in East New Orleans on March 15, 1960. He lived in a two-bedroom apartment in Walnut Square with his younger brothers, Liu (born in 1963), Jacob (born in 1970), and his parents, Anthony and Margaret. While his parents despised the place they lived in, Jeff, Liu, and Jacob all enjoyed it and got along well with their neighbors, knowing almost everyone in the neighborhood and growing up alongside them. Jeff was closer to his brothers than anyone else in his life, becoming more like friends than family. He later interpreted that throughout his life, his parents scorned him and his brothers when it was just them together, as whenever someone else was present, the two would show a different personality and act more energetically towards them than towards their own three children.
He has dark brown, slightly long hair, and presents with albinism and heterochromia. Jeff, despite not having social issues regarding, always found himself ugly. His skin, his eyes, his hair, everything seemed mundane and unremarkable to him. He watched others, with their symmetrical faces, radiant smiles, and sculpted bodies, and felt inferior, as if he didn't belong in the same world. He began to think that the reason for the disdain from his parents was because of his appearance, as they, although not treating the three well, were a little worse with him. Despite his shyness and inferiority complex, he's a nice guy to talk to, being friendly and helpful when interacting with others. He has a great sense of humor. His sharp intelligence and ability to learn quickly stand out in various situations, whether in everyday conversations or in academic and practical activities.
Jeff had a peculiar interest in reading, and one of the types of books that caught his attention the most was about historical inventions used for punishment, torture, and execution. Each page plunged him into a dark and disturbing world of human brutality, leaving him both scared and impressed with the macabre creativity behind these methods. Among all the horrifying descriptions, one in particular echoed in his mind: the Rack, the machine that stretched the condemned until their limbs were torn off and their spine broken. The idea of such prolonged suffering deeply shocked him, making him reflect on the cruelty that humans are capable of inflicting on each other throughout history.
Since he was a child, Jeff was plagued by a phobia called Somniphobia. The terror of sleep followed him like a shadow, turning every night into a nightmare. The simple act of closing his eyes was an invitation to horror, to the monsters hiding in the depths of his mind. Instead of offering comfort and support, his parents contributed to Jeff's phobia. The indifference and sarcasm with which they treated his fears made him feel even more alone and vulnerable. Phrases like "grow up and stop being silly" or "there are no monsters in the closet" only intensified the anguish consuming Jeff. The simple phrase "go to sleep" terrified him. From the age of 11, he began to overcome his fears.
Jeff spent a year in boxing class after his father pressured him to join because his boss's brother worked at the gym. Jeff later came to enjoy it and was planning to sign up for another year, but a week later, when the boss's brother left, Anthony finally changed his mind with the excuse that they couldn't afford more classes, which Jeff knew was a lie. In 1975, Jeff, at 15, was informed that his father had received a promotion and was planned to transfer to Hurricane, Utah, a city located a considerable distance from New Orleans. Jeff was dissatisfied with the idea of having spent almost his entire life in New Orleans, but eventually decided to agree due to the change in attitude it could bring to his family, especially to his brothers. Six weeks later, they moved to the Pinecrest Heights neighborhood, to a larger house, where the family planned to start over.
Well, Pinecrest Heights proved to be a very different place from their old home in New Orleans, and not necessarily for the better. Jeff could feel the neighbors' indifference towards him, probably due to his unique appearance. Strange looks and malicious whispers followed him whenever he left the house. It was bothersome, but he could ignore it, at least to a certain extent. However, there were three specific elements that really knew how to "get on his nerves": Troy, Keith, and Randy. They seemed to be around his age and made sure to make Jeff and his brother's lives a living hell. They used to torment them with cruel taunts, tasteless jokes, and even threats. Every encounter with them was a different disturbance, and Jeff knew he would have to deal with them somehow.
Despite the difficulties, Jeff learned to defend himself. Whether responding with ironic words or avoiding them when possible, he and his brothers learned to defend themselves. But the shadow of the presence of these three constantly loomed over them, creating a climate of tension and anxiety whenever they left the house. Jeff's increasing stress and irritation in the face of the difficulties he faced, both at home and at school, were palpable. He felt as if he were in a constant state of alert, always ready to face another challenge, but at the same time, he struggled to maintain his composure.
His parents' indifference seemed more evident now. This perception deeply hurt the brothers, but they never had the courage to confront them. Instead, they kept their hurts and frustrations to themselves, suffocating them under a facade of resignation and acceptance. And so the days went by, dragging on monotonously as they tried to survive the new environment. Jeff harbored a fragile hope that one day he could return to his original home, where he truly felt at home. It was a vague, almost illusory hope, but it was all that kept him going, a glimpse of light in the oppressive darkness of his current reality.
May 31, 1975[]
A school camping trip was organized, representing a unique opportunity for Jeff and his brother to temporarily escape the pressures and bullying of Pinecrest Heights. They could barely contain their excitement as they boarded the bus, eager to experience something new and thrilling together. As they settled into their seats, they exchanged relieved glances upon realizing that the three bullies were not on board. It was a small relief amidst their worries, a momentary pause from the tensions that permeated their daily lives.
As the bus pulled away from the city, taking them to a world of lush nature and unknown adventures, Jeff felt a weight lifted off his shoulders. For a brief moment, he allowed himself to dream of the possibility that perhaps this camping trip could be the fresh start they had been longing for. The day was truly invigorating. Despite the hardships they faced in Pinecrest Heights, they found temporary refuge in the beauty of nature and the exciting activities the camp offered.
Throughout the day, they participated in various outdoor activities, from forest trails to team games and survival activities. Jeff and Liu fully embraced the experience, setting aside for a moment the worries and challenges of their daily lives. Each activity provided an opportunity for the brothers to reconnect not only with nature but also with each other. They laughed, played, and explored together, sharing precious moments of joy and camaraderie that seemed so distant in their everyday world. It was a pity that Jacob wasn't there.
As the day drew to a close and the sun set on the horizon, Jeff and Liu found themselves at peace, surrounded by the serenity of nature and the comforting warmth of mutual friendship. For a brief moment, the concerns of the outside world faded away, replaced by the promise of a new journey and new hopes at dawn. They knew that in the end, they would always have each other to face the challenges that the future held.
June 1[]
In the dead of night, with Liu already asleep beside him in the cabin, Jeff found himself awake, battling the insomnia that occasionally haunted him. Lying in his sleeping bag, he stared at the dark ceiling of the cabin, boredom gradually taking over his thoughts. He might have overcome his Somniphobia, but not insomnia.Suddenly, an urgent need to use the bathroom struck him. Jeff got up silently, trying not to disturb his brother's peaceful sleep. With cautious steps, he exited the cabin and made his way towards the nearest bathroom, enveloped by the calm of the night.
The cool, gentle night breeze brushed softly against his face as he walked through the camp. Under the pale moonlight, he could see the leaves of the trees swaying gently, creating a soft symphony that echoed through the forest. Prepared for the weather conditions of that day, Jeff had opted to wear a gray hoodie, which kept him warm and comfortable against the cool night air. The soft fabric enveloped his body, providing a sense of protection and familiarity amidst the darkness that surrounded him.
In the bathroom, he felt a shiver run down his spine as he noticed the strange buzzing echoing in his mind. It was as if the sound was emanating from inside his own head, filling him with an uncomfortable sensation. Deciding to ignore it, Jeff exited the bathroom, his flashlight illuminating the path ahead as he moved through the darkness of the forest. However, a strange restlessness began to settle in his chest, as if something was wrong, as if he was being watched.
Cautiously, Jeff continued forward, following the instinct that warned him of something beyond the ordinary. It was then that his eyes caught a sinister figure behind a tree, a figure that seemed out of place in that serene landscape. It was tall and slender, dressed in a sleek black suit with a red tie. Its limbs were strangely long, its hands white and bony, with long, sharp fingers. Clearly, Slender Man/The Operator, but of course, he had never heard about it.
This sight left Jeff stunned and disturbed, making him question if he was really seeing what appeared to be there before him. He rubbed his eyes several times, wishing that the figure would disappear like a mirage, but it remained there, unmoving. Without stopping to analyze or understand what was happening, Jeff felt a primal instinct of self-preservation take over him. Without looking back, he hurried towards the cabin, each step echoing loudly in his mind as he tried to escape the sinister presence following him.
Upon entering the cabin, Jeff lay down on his sleeping bag, insomnia consuming him once again, but he refused to give in to fear. Determined to overcome the frightening encounter of the night, Jeff took a deep breath and tried to sleep. In the morning, as the bus made its way back home, Jeff found himself lost in his thoughts, unable to forget what he had witnessed that night. A whirlwind of doubts and uncertainties swirled in his mind, leaving him torn between reason and imagination.
On one hand, a part of Jeff wanted to believe that the encounter with The Operator was just the product of his own mind, an illusion created by fatigue and the darkness of the night. But on the other hand, there was a disturbing sense that it was too real to be simply dismissed as a hallucination. Nevertheless, Jeff tried to push these thoughts to the back of his mind, forcing himself to ignore what had happened and to carry on with his life as if nothing had happened. It was easier that way, to think that it was all just a fantasy, a creation of his own frightened mind.
As the bus moved along the road, Jeff closed his eyes and tried to find some inner peace, promising himself that he would leave that disturbing encounter behind and move forward with his life. However, a part of him knew that that encounter would never be completely forgotten, haunting him like a shadow in the darkness of his mind.
June 7[]
Time passed slowly since the encounter with the creature, but Jeff tried to move on as best as he could. However, the shadow of the three bullies persisted, always present to torment them at the most inopportune moments.
At the bus stop, Jeff and Liu were surprised by the presence of the three, whose mocking laughter echoed through the air. They didn't miss the opportunity to ridicule the brothers for the scare they had received, mocking their courage and laughing at their distress. Randy seemed the worst of them, becoming increasingly unbearable.
That night, Jeff was in his room, trying to focus on his schoolwork, when movement outside his window caught his attention. As he looked, he saw that sinister figure standing outside, watching him with unseen eyes. A chill ran down his spine as he watched, hearing a disturbing buzzing that seemed to increase gradually in intensity.
With his heart racing, Jeff abruptly closed the curtains, moving away from the window as if fearing that presence might invade his room at any moment. His mind was swirling with unanswered questions, struggling to understand what was happening and whether it was real or just his imagination.
Despite the fear that gripped him, Jeff decided to keep silent about what he had seen. He was not yet ready to admit to himself that it could be more than a simple hallucination, and preferred to believe that it was all his mind playing tricks on him.
With his heart still pounding in his chest, Jeff returned to his activity, desperately trying to regain the tranquility he had lost. But the shadow of the sinister figure remained in his mind, haunting him even as he tried to convince himself that it was all just an illusion.
As the days went by, the presence of The Operator seemed to become more persistent and disturbing for Jeff. The sinister figure appeared at the most unexpected moments, always when Jeff was alone or trying to enjoy moments of leisure. The frequency of these encounters made it clear that it was not just a mere hallucination, but something much darker and real.
With time, Jeff began to develop a growing paranoia, consumed by the feeling that he was constantly being watched and pursued by something beyond his understanding. He tried to share his anguish with his parents and his brothers, but was met with indifference and disbelief. His parents dismissed his concerns as mere products of his imagination fueled by horror movies, while Liu, although trying to be supportive, seemed to doubt Jeff's words. Jacob, on the other hand, seemed more frightened by it.
The sense of isolation and helplessness that Jeff experienced only increased his distress. He struggled to maintain his sanity in the face of the constant terror that haunted him, losing track of time and facing strange lapses of memory that only served to increase his paranoia.
Jeff's stress and irritability reached higher levels, making it increasingly difficult for him to control his emotions and maintain composure. He found himself immersed in a vicious cycle of fear and anxiety. To make matters worse, he began to experience physical symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, excessive coughing.
July 12[]
After leaving school, Jeff and Liu decided to go for a bike ride before heading home. Jeff wanted to distract himself and forget about these things for a while.
On the way, they noticed the rental store, which reminded them of an aspect they originally always frequented when they were in New Orleans. After leaving the store, the brothers spotted Troy, Keith, and Randy riding their bikes that were left outside. Jeff and Liu confronted the boys and tried a civilized approach with them, but the group didn't want to make friends and started harassing the boys.
Wanting to avoid a fight, Jeff tried to leave, but was stopped by them. Liu insulted Randy afterwards, which led Keith to punch Liu in the face in response. Enraged by this, Jeff attacked Keith and Troy, but before he could hurt Randy, Liu stopped him after warning him that the store clerk had witnessed everything and was frantically on the phone talking to someone, probably the police. Jeff and Liu fled the scene and believed the matter was settled.
After spending a few hours around town, they found an abandoned hunting cabin with running water in the forest. For the first time, Jeff acted violently, a result of the psychological torment he had been suffering.
Upon returning home, Jeff and Liu were greeted by a chaotic and disturbing scene. Police cars were parked outside, clearly indicating that the worst had happened. As they entered the house, they were met with their furious parents and several police officers.
The brothers were accused of assaulting the three boys, an accusation that left them stunned and outraged. They desperately tried to explain what really happened, but their parents refused to listen, blinded by anger. To make matters worse, one of the officers present presented a distorted version of the events, portraying Jeff and Liu as the aggressors.
Furious at the unjust accusations and the manipulation of the truth, Jeff lost control and began verbally assaulting the officer, accusing him of colluding with the three boys and trying to cover up the truth. However, his words only worsened the situation, increasing the hostility of the police officers and making the situation even more complicated for the brothers.
Jeff, consumed by anger and sadness in the face of the injustice he faced, retreated to his room, locking the door to the outside world. In the suffocating silence of his solitary refuge, he found himself immersed in a sea of tumultuous thoughts, desperately seeking an explanation for the series of unfortunate events that had turned his life into a true hell.
As he reflected on his situation, an idea began to form in his disturbed mind. He thought that the presence of The Operator was not necessarily the cause of all his problems, but rather a symptom of a greater evil that had taken hold of his life since they moved to that distant place from their home.
Jeff began to wonder if all this would have happened if they were still in New Orleans, where they felt safe. Perhaps the sinister creature would never have crossed their path, and they could have continued their lives without the constant fear and anguish that haunted them now. These thoughts brought an even greater sense of bitterness and resentment, fueling the flame of anger burning in his chest.
July 13[]
Jeff, Jacob, and Liu were confronted with an even crueler and more desolate reality. Their parents, unable to accept or understand the truth about the previous day's incident, opted for an extreme measure: sending Liu to their aunt's house as a way to avoid further trouble and deal with what they considered indiscipline on the part of the two brothers.
This decision left Jeff completely devastated, feeling betrayed and abandoned by those who should protect and support them. He interpreted his parents' action as a form of punishment, additional proof that they were not loved or valued as they should be.
Despite his anger and hurt, the three found themselves powerless to do anything but accept their parents' decision. The feeling of helplessness and despair that engulfed them was overwhelming, making it even more difficult for Jeff to deal with his tumultuous emotions.
As he watched his brother leave, leaving behind everything he knew and loved, Jeff felt consumed by a overwhelming mixture of emotions. The pain of separation and the sense of abandonment weighed heavily on his heart, fueling the flame of anger burning within him.
As the days passed, tensions between Jeff and his parents reached new heights, creating an atmosphere of hostility and resentment within the house. However, an unexpected turn of events occurred on a Saturday morning when Margaret made a decision that left Jeff perplexed and bewildered.
July 28[]
Forcing him to visit Randy and befriend him was a daunting task for Jeff, who refused to give in to his mother's manipulation. However, the prospect of having his brother back sooner was enough to make him reconsider his position and agree to move forward with the plan.
Upon arriving at Randy's house, Jeff was confronted with an uncomfortable situation, but surprisingly, he and Randy began to find common ground and develop a camaraderie. However, when Randy's mother and Margaret were absent, leaving the two young men alone, Jeff felt a wave of apprehension wash over him.
Although he had begun to trust Randy, something inside Jeff warned him that something was not right. His intuition left him uneasy, and he began to question whether he should continue following Randy to the garage. Fear and distrust consumed him, causing him to hesitate and reconsider whether that newly formed friendship was truly genuine.
In the garage, tension reached its peak when Randy showed Jeff his father's flare gun and loaded it, revealing his true intentions. Jeff, realizing the imminent danger, desperately tried to steer the conversation away from the impending confrontation, but his attempt was interrupted by the sudden arrival of Troy and Keith, who joined Randy in carrying out their vengeance against Jeff.
Randy would not take no for an answer and pointed the flare gun at Jeff, leaving him defenseless under the threat of a weapon. Surrounded by his assailants and confronted with the prospect of more violence, Jeff's anger grew to a breaking point. Determined not to be another victim, he decided to take a stand and fight back, disregarding the devastating consequences his actions could entail.
With a burst of fury and determination, Jeff attacked his assailants, incapacitating them one by one with precise and determined blows. He confronted Randy head-on, who finally realized they were evenly matched and accepted the imminent defeat.
However, relief was brief when Bridget and Margaret unexpectedly returned, catching them in a moment of chaos and violence. While Randy panicked, desperately trying to unload the flare gun, a terrible accident occurred. The flare gun slipped from his trembling hands and discharged upon hitting the ground, grazing Jeff's forehead and leaving him wounded and dazed, while panic and confusion unfolded around him.
Randy, amidst the chaos and desperation, concocted a story to explain the terrible incident that occurred in the garage. He claimed that a burglar had broken into their house, threatening them with death, and that, because they were outnumbered, they naively believed they could react and defend themselves. He admitted to taking the flare gun as a precautionary measure, but claimed that, due to lack of experience and skill, he accidentally hit Jeff.
Randy's fabricated version is accepted by the mothers, who, frightened, immediately call an ambulance. Upon arrival, paramedics provide first aid to Jeff, administering him a shot of morphine to alleviate his pain and taking him inside the ambulance for proper medical treatment. They also tend to Randy and his friends.
The ambulance speeds away, taking the three injured youths to the nearest hospital, where they will receive the necessary medical care for their conditions.
The period when Jeff was unconscious in the hospital was marked by incessant psychological torment as he was tormented by The Operator in various ways. The psychological torture, combined with the effects of medication and physical trauma, wore down his mental sanity, leaving him vulnerable and fragile.
For the doctors, it was baffling that Jeff remained unconscious for so long, especially considering that his injuries did not seem to be so severe as to justify such a state. However, they had no way to explain Jeff's unusual condition, and their efforts to understand what was happening were in vain.
When Jeff finally woke up, his physical recovery was quick, but his mind was irreversibly altered. He gained a scar on his forehead, along with burn marks, silent witnesses of the terrible encounter with the flare gun on that fateful night. However, it was evident to everyone around him that something deeper had changed within him.
Jeff seemed different, more quiet and distant than before. His vacant and lost gaze suggested that his mind was elsewhere, haunted by memories and experiences that he couldn't share with others. It was as if a part of his essence had been stolen, leaving him at the mercy of the shadows that continually haunted him.
The constant and menacing presence of The Operator continued to haunt Jeff, even though he no longer directly saw it. This feeling of being watched and pursued was slowly corroding his sanity, making it increasingly difficult for him to maintain a facade of normality.
His increasingly erratic and disturbing behavior began to worry his brothers, who could clearly see the signs that something was very wrong with Jeff. However, their parents still did not realize the severity of the situation, or perhaps they were simply ignoring the warning signs.
Over time, Jeff began to exhibit symptoms of schizophrenia, adding another layer of complexity and challenges to his already tumultuous life. The symptoms of this mental illness, such as hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking, only intensified his struggle against the demons that haunted him, pushing him further into the abyss of insanity.
Jeff's inability to distinguish between fiction and reality was a constant source of anguish and despair for him. The hallucinations and delusions that plagued his mind made it difficult for him to know what was true and what was not, plunging him even deeper into a spiral of confusion and paranoia.
Meanwhile, his parents, instead of seeking professional help for Jeff, chose to ignore the problem and hide it whenever they had visitors, afraid of causing bad impressions. This attitude of exclusion and denial only exacerbated Jeff's problems, leaving him even more isolated and helpless in his battle against the internal demons that tormented him.
The lack of support and understanding from his parents left Jeff deeply angry and frustrated. He desperately sought relief for his pain and anxiety, resorting to tranquilizers and other means of self-treatment that seemed to offer little or no relief. However, his attempts to deal with his problems autonomously only led him into a vicious cycle of dependency and despair.
Over time, he learned to disguise and hide, trying to appear normal.
August 31[]
That early morning, Jeff overheard his parents' conversation in their room, making it very clear to him that their primary concern was not the well-being of their son, but rather how they would be perceived by the neighbors. This only increased the frustration and anger that Jeff had been accumulating over time, pushing him to the limit of his emotional tolerance.
Desperate to find a release valve for his pain and anguish, he turned to medication again, but it didn't help. And that's when he turned to self-harm.
Jeff began to cut himself to relieve his emotional pain. The cuts on his arms and abdomen served as a temporary release from the agony he carried with him, offering a brief moment of calm amidst the chaos consuming his mind.
He was fully aware of the seriousness of his actions, but the urgency to find some relief for his pain was so overwhelming that he couldn't resist the urge to cut himself. Covering the cuts with a gray hoodie, Jeff tried to hide the evidence of his suffering from the eyes of others, keeping his inner torment hidden behind a facade of normality.
September 26[]
Jeff walked restlessly on a deserted street until he came across a stray cat walking towards him. For a moment, he felt a momentary connection with the animal, gently stroking it. However, something inside him sparked a dark desire, an irresistible compulsion that drove him to do something terrible.
From that moment on, Jeff found a new way to deal with his internal torment. Instead of self-harming, he began to channel his pain and anguish into the torture and killing of small animals, primarily insects. This disturbing and cruel behavior offered him a momentary sensation of relief and control over his tumultuous emotions, serving as an escape valve for his distress and anxiety.
However, Jeff was fully aware of the seriousness of his actions and the impact they could have on innocent living beings that crossed his path. He didn't like to do it, but it was simply as if it were an instinct, a necessity. He hid in the shadows, performing his heinous acts away from the eyes of those around him.
November 12[]
Jeff's family was invited to a birthday party by a neighbor, to celebrate her son Billy's birthday. Margaret and Antony accepted the invitation without hesitation, deciding without consulting their children, as usual. Jeff, Jacob, and Liu, although reluctant, already knew it would be futile to try to persuade their parents to change their minds.
Resigned, they prepared to attend the party, resigning themselves to the inevitability of yet another uncomfortable situation. For Jeff, the prospect of having to interact with the other guests, especially considering his growing social alienation, was more a source of anxiety than enthusiasm. But, as always, he kept his concerns to himself, knowing that expressing them to his parents would be futile.
On the day of the party, Jeff's parents were overly dressed, eager to make a good impression. They insisted that their children also dress appropriately, choosing clothes that reflected the festive occasion. They, however, did not share the same excitement and simply chose random pieces of clothing, feigning enthusiasm they didn't feel.
For Jeff, the hoodie was his usual choice, not only for comfort but also to conceal the scars that marked his arms and abdomen. His parents were not pleased with his appearance, but there was no time to change clothes. Jeff remained firm in his decision, resigned to the expectation of another uncomfortable event.
As they arrived at the neighbor's house, they noticed that she too was overly dressed, almost stealing the spotlight from her son at the party. It was evident that the party had been planned with great pomp, as many children's parties tend to be.
Liu, with his more outgoing personality, managed to socialize, and Jacob enjoyed himself a bit in the company of the other children. However, Jeff was not so lucky. He felt out of place and uncomfortable among the guests, unable to connect with the festive atmosphere around him. For him, that children's party was another reminder of his growing social alienation and his difficulty fitting into conventional social situations.
Jeff went out to the backyard crowded with children, all dressed in strange cowboy outfits and playing with toy guns. The scene was as if he had been transported into a toy store. Suddenly, one of the children approached him, extending a toy gun and a hat, inviting him to join the game.
Initially reluctant, Jeff politely declined, saying he was too old for such games. However, the child insisted, and Jeff eventually relented. Putting on the hat and pretending to join the game, he soon found himself actually having fun. Though it might have seemed silly, that simple distraction was a welcome escape from his troubles.
As he played with the children, he began to hear a strange noise, as if something were moving. It was then that he noticed Randy's presence, his anger and desire for revenge evident in his gaze. A day after the incident at his house, witnesses came forward saying they overheard the conversations they had inside, and things got worse for Randy.
He constantly threatened Jeff, and Jeff's nervousness only increased. When Randy lunged at him, Jeff reacted instinctively, grabbing him and headbutting him, causing him to recoil.
However, Randy didn't give up so easily. He pulled out a knife and attacked Jeff, wounding him in the shoulder. Jeff screamed in pain, but his anger only grew. Even wounded, he fought bravely against Randy, resisting his opponent's kicks and blows.
In a moment of opportunity, Jeff managed to disarm Randy and brought him down to the ground. For a moment, he felt victorious, but the battle was not over yet. Randy quickly recovered and grabbed Jeff, pinning him in a tight grip.
The fight continued, the screams of the children and the chaos around them became a blur as Jeff and Randy faced off in a duel of wills and strengths. The fate of both hung by a thread as they fought in the backyard of the birthday party.
The battle extended to the confines of the house, leaving a trail of destruction and chaos wherever they went. People were too shocked to intervene, only thinking to call an ambulance and the police. Liu was the only one who tried to intervene, but it was in vain. In the kitchen, the violence reached a new level when Randy grabbed a bottle of vodka and smashed it over Jeff's head, causing a deep wound and leaving him dazed.
Still, Jeff didn't give up. He retaliated fiercely, fighting through the pain and disorientation to continue the fight. The struggle intensified even more when the two reached the bathroom, where the claustrophobic environment and cleaning products became improvised weapons.
Desperate and determined to defeat Jeff, Randy grabbed him by the throat, pressing him against the wall. In a moment of desperation, a bottle of bleach fell onto them, causing intense burns and further escalating the ferocity of the fight.
Jeff, fueled by adrenaline and the primal desire to survive, and by the primal desire to eliminate his opponent, retaliated with force, grabbing Randy's head and repeatedly slamming it against the wall. Blood spurted, screams echoed through the bathroom, and amidst the chaos, a sinister smile formed on Randy's lips as he foresaw the dark fate awaiting his opponent, while holding a lighter.
The scene was chaotic and terrifying. Jeff, now engulfed in flames, screamed in agony as he desperately tried to extinguish the fire consuming his body. The smell of burning and the sound of screams echoed down the hallway as onlookers watched in horror as the tragedy unfolded before their eyes. His hair was charred and falling out due to the flames.
Efforts to extinguish the flames were in vain, and Jeff, in the midst of excruciating pain, staggered through the hallway, his clothes and skin consumed by the fire. Each step was torture, each breath a struggle for survival.
People, in shock, rushed to help, trying to extinguish the flames consuming Jeff's body. The scene was one of horror and despair as everyone witnessed the terrible tragedy unfolding before them.
Finally, Jeff collapsed to the ground, almost unconscious, his burned and mutilated body bearing witness to the terrible battle he had faced. The world around him spun in a blur of pain and agony until, finally, darkness enveloped him and he lost consciousness.
In the hospital, Jeff remained in a coma, his burned and mutilated body now resting in a hospital bed. Meanwhile, in his tormented mind, he was haunted by disturbing visions of The Operator. The creature seemed to feed on his sanity and humanity, torturing him psychologically in unimaginable ways. Surprisingly, it took him a long time to wake up.
January 15, 1976[]
When Jeff woke up, he was wrapped in bandages and felt the weight of the cast on his face and shoulder. Unable to see, he tried to move but soon realized the tubes in his arm and was prevented from getting up. His family, anxious, waited by his bedside. As time passed, the nurse informed him that he would soon be discharged, bringing a glimmer of hope to Jeff.
February 3[]
The day his bandages would be removed finally arrived, and everyone was gathered, awaiting the crucial moment. Carefully, the doctors began to unwrap the bandages, and the tension in the air was palpable. When the last bandage covering his face was almost removed, the shocked reaction of his parents and siblings was instantaneous.
Jeff, intrigued by the expression on their faces, looked into the mirror and saw his new appearance. His lips were twisted in a dark shade of red, his face marked by scars and burns, now a dark gray. His hair, now intensely blackened, had grown back strangely quickly, something that frightened the doctors. As he touched his face, he felt a strange sensation of hardened skin. His eyes simply lost their color, something the doctors couldn't explain. They also had a charred black outline, and his eyebrows disappeared.
Despite the discomfort around him, Jeff couldn't contain his excitement about his new appearance. He laughed frantically as he admired his scars in the mirror, oblivious to the disturbance he caused to others around him. His parents, Liu, Jacob, and even the doctors didn't know how to deal with this sudden change in behavior. They didn't know, but it was the first time he felt he loved himself, no matter how strange it may seem. He was completely insane now.
After a brief conversation with the doctors, they decided to leave, leaving Jeff with his family to continue his recovery process.
As the days went by, Jeff demonstrated partial recovery of his physical health, but his mental health was still far from stabilizing. Although he was closer to his original behavior, he continued to exhibit traces of worrying behavior.
At times, Jeff acted peculiar and uncomfortable to others, as if he were distant or absorbed in his own thoughts. His behavior oscillated between moments of disturbing laughter and moments of deep contemplation, often directed at nothing, as if he were lost in his own reveries. He started seeing The Operator occasionally again, but strangely he no longer saw him as an enemy, now it was as if he were a friend.
Jeff often found himself staring into the mirror for long periods of time. It was as if he were obsessed with his own reflected image, examining every detail of his new appearance. These moments of self-contemplation seemed to consume him, leaving others around him bewildered by his obsessive behavior.
An emerging pattern in his behavior was a growing fascination with sharp objects. Jeff began to play carelessly with these objects, demonstrating reckless and dangerous behavior. The act of torturing and even killing small animals in hiding still continued, however, he no longer cared about the suffering he caused, he started to enjoy it. Before it was a need, an instinct, an impulse, now it was like a simple hobby.
Concerned about the community's reaction, his parents decided to seek professional help. They agreed to take him to a psychiatrist, recognizing the need for medical intervention to deal with him.
Jeff proved to be a challenging case for the psychologist, even for someone with experience in the field. His peculiar behavior and unpredictable reactions caused discomfort in the doctor, who needed to deal with the complexity of his mental condition. Jeff seemed to be in a state of constant emotional turmoil, making it difficult for the psychologist to establish a solid therapeutic connection with him.
The psychologist sensed an aura of negative energy emanating from Jeff during the sessions. This energy, combined with his erratic behavior and disturbing expressions, contributed to creating a tense and challenging atmosphere in the office. Despite his experience, the psychologist found himself confronted with a heavy and oppressive atmosphere whenever he interacted with Jeff, making therapeutic progress difficult and increasing his own discomfort.
Jeff began to closely observe his parents, capturing every expression and word said in his presence and even when he thought he was alone. This constant observation only reinforced the true feeling of contempt and disinterest that his parents harbored for him and his siblings.
These negative feelings extended beyond his parents, also encompassing those who had tormented him since his arrival in that town. Jeff began to fantasize and imagine ways to severely harm those who had hurt and mocked him over time, fueling an increasingly intense desire for revenge.
Meanwhile, Liu and Jacob felt powerless and frightened in the face of their brother's worrying transformation. They watched with growing apprehension as Jeff became a kind of time bomb about to explode, not knowing how to help him or contain his growing spiral of negative emotions and dark thoughts. If only they knew other details...
June 3[]
It was early morning, Jeff's parents woke up in their bedroom upon noticing his presence sitting at the foot of the bed, holding a knife. Startled and concerned, they asked the reason for it. Jeff calmly replied that it was for protection because he felt that something bad could happen to them, and he didn't want to lose them.
Scared and suspicious, they thanked him and asked him to go back to his room, reassuring him that everything would be okay. After that, they decided to make a drastic decision.
1 week later
After a week of that tense night, Jeff's parents decided to move forward with their drastic decision. They realized he was watching them, so they tried their best to keep it secret.
Subtly, they deceived him, saying they were worried about him and needed professional help to ensure he was safe. Jeff, initially confused and suspicious, cooperated.
Health professionals arrived, prepared for involuntary hospitalization. Jeff, realizing what was happening, resisted and asked what was going on. That was when the professionals held him down, Jeff struggled aggressively, screaming for his parents and begging for Liu's help, who was shocked and helpless in the situation, while Jacob was distant, observing the situation horrified. Despite his efforts to resist, Jeff was held down by the professionals and taken to the ambulance, while his voice echoed through the environment, full of despair and disbelief at his parents' betrayal.
As Jeff fought against the healthcare professionals, they quickly administered a tranquilizer to him in an attempt to calm him down and ensure his safety during transport to the ambulance. The medication began to take effect almost immediately, leaving Jeff increasingly drowsy and disoriented, but still fighting against the sedative effect.
As he was forcefully taken to the ambulance, his vision began to blur, and his movements weakened. Even in the haze induced by the tranquilizer, his mind still struggled to understand what was happening, unable to comprehend why his own parents were handing him over to the care of strangers. Jeff's desperate cry echoed for a moment before unconsciousness finally enveloped him, plunging him into a state of stupor and confusion.
Havenwood Psychiatric Asylum[]
Havenwood Psychiatric Asylum was founded in the early 1920s, initially with the noble intention of offering compassionate care and effective treatment for those suffering from mental illness. However, over the years, the place became known for its problems and controversies.
Located in an isolated area, surrounded by dense forests and far from civilization, Havenwood quickly gained a sinister reputation. Reports of patient abuse, neglect, unsanitary conditions, and inhumane treatment were frequent but often ignored by local authorities.
The administration of the asylum was marked by corruption and disorganization, with poorly trained and overwhelmed staff, lack of adequate resources, and a culture of impunity. Patients were often left to fend for themselves, confined in dirty and overcrowded rooms, receiving little or no effective treatment for their conditions.
Furthermore, rumors of questionable medical experiments and illegal practices circulated among the asylum's dark corridors, fueling fear and distrust. Despite the various complaints and investigations, Havenwood continued to operate, hidden in the shadows of society, a stain on the mental health system that persisted in perpetuating the suffering of those it was supposed to help.
Jeff found himself confined to a cold, damp cubicle, isolated from the other patients. The white walls, stained yellow and brown, emanated an aura of decay and despair. The only light came from a small dusty window, offering a pale glimpse of the outside world.
The silence was deafening, broken only by distant screams and the metallic sound of keys in the guards' hands. Jeff sat motionless in the corner, his empty eyes fixed on the floor. He didn't speak, didn't cry, just existed like a shadow, a ghost in his own prison.
Confined in the asylum, Jeff saw his relationship with Liu deteriorate rapidly. Nurturing feelings of anger and resentment, he began to suspect that his own brother was involved in the decision to send him to that place. Frequent nightmares haunted him, presenting vivid images of Liu and his parents conspiring against him, further fueling his sense of betrayal. Not only nightmares, but also sounds of conversations and visions.
These negative feelings triggered a spiral of turbulent emotions within Jeff. The anger and hatred he harbored for his family and everyone who had harmed him mixed with a strange and distorted pleasure, as if he enjoyed the sensation of being consumed by these intense emotions.
When the staff approached, Jeff stared at them with a sinister smile, his eyes directed at them. He murmured macabre stories about his nightmares and visions of death.
Jeff was very different from any madman you could imagine being in there. He laughed hysterically as he sang strange songs. His eyes now colorless seemed to contain a universe of horror and madness.
With a sinister smile on his face, Jeff struck up a conversation with the asylum staff, carefully choosing his targets. His voice, calm and casual, contrasted with the horror of his words. He talked about his parents as if it were a funny memory, describing their neglect and contempt with terrifying naturalness.
With a mad gleam in his eyes, Jeff narrated his experiences of torturing and killing animals, detailing each step with clinical precision. He described the sound of their cries of pain, the texture of their organs, and the taste of blood, as if reciting a poem.
He described his desires for revenge against his parents and all who mistreated him. He spoke of torturing them slowly, making them suffer as he suffered, with a naturalness that sent shivers down the spine of those who listened.
With a diabolical gleam in his eyes, Jeff narrated the cruel ways in which he would make his tormentors pay for their actions. He described the torture instruments he would use, the pains he would inflict, and the pleasure he would feel in watching them suffer, as if he were commenting on a video game.
What was most disturbing about Jeff's conversations was how he trivialized horror. He talked about death, mutilation, and suffering as if they were trivial things, as if he were discussing football or the weather. Everyone could feel a negative energy coming from him. He began to feel a strange sensation of being stronger; it was a sensation he enjoyed despite finding it strange. In the asylum, Jeff not only had his mental state worsened but also found the seed of the monster he would become.
As Jeff faced his own demons in the asylum, the tension at home reached unbearable levels. Liu did not hesitate to confront his parents, expressing all his disgust and revolt at the decision to send Jeff to such an inhumane and cruel place. He spared no words in describing the suffering and neglect he and his siblings had faced over the years. The frequent arguments led Liu to threaten to leave home, take Jacob, and live with their aunt, arguing that she and her late husband had been better parents than their biological parents. Jacob watched everything, scared and disturbed.
October 23[]
Darkness reigned in Jeff's room, illuminated only by the faint moonlight streaming through the small, dusty window. The silence was deafening, broken only by the irregular sounds of Jeff's breathing as he lay on his bed, restless, his eyes fixed on the ceiling.
Suddenly, a sudden movement. Jeff sits up in bed, his bare feet touching the cold floor. His eyes, filled with an abnormal light, fixate on a piece of glass that faintly glimmers on the floor, a remnant of a broken hand mirror he had shattered earlier.
With slow and hesitant steps, Jeff approaches the cracked mirror hanging on the wall. He gazes at himself, his distorted image reflected in the glass. A sinister smile forms on his lips as he contemplates his pale face and vacant eyes.
Since that fire, Jeff began to feel, for the first time, that he loved himself; he found himself more beautiful now, but something was missing. He didn't like being sad; he wanted to smile and be happy forever, but unfortunately, it wasn't possible. He wanted to see himself forever without pauses, but that wasn't possible either.
Frustration turns into determination in Jeff's gaze. His eyes fixate on the shard of glass in his hand. A macabre idea takes hold of his mind.
With a swift and precise movement, Jeff grasps the sharp piece of glass. He brings it closer to his face, his fingers grazing the rough surface. A cruel smile forms on his lips as he prepares to perform an act that will change his life forever.
The first rays of sunlight barely penetrated the cracks of the window when the asylum staff began their morning rounds. An eerie silence hung in the air, broken only by the metallic sound of keys and hesitant footsteps.
Upon entering Jeff's room, the staff were met with a scene that chilled them to the bone. The partially open door revealed a room in complete disarray, with clothes and objects strewn across the floor.
A pale, motionless figure lay on the bed. As they approached, the employees came across Jeff. Small cuts on both sides of his mouth formed a macabre smile on his face. His lips were torn off, leaving only a red, bloody cavity. The nose had also been torn off, leaving an area of exposed flesh and only two nostrils. And his eyes, bulging and shadowless, stared at them with a terrifying emptiness.
The employees, paralyzed with fear, did not know how to react to the grotesque sight. Jeff "innocently" and casually asked what they thought. Seeing the broken hand mirror on the floor along with a piece of bloody glass, they realized how he did that, removing these things and the larger mirror to avoid future accidents.
Given the severity of the self-inflicted injuries, they had no doubt: Jeff would not survive for long. The brutal mutilation of his face, the loss of sensory organs, and internal bleeding condemned him to a brief and painful death.
With the certainty of Jeff's imminent death, the asylum staff began preparations for his body's cremation. The decision aimed to avoid the embarrassment and fear that Jeff's presence could cause to the other patients.
However, against all expectations, Jeff not only avoided death but also adapted to his new conditions with surprising resilience. The only sequel was in speech, which was impaired. He still smelled very good, heard very well, saw very well, showed no problems with this mutilation; it was something that amazed everyone.
Jeff's grotesque mutilation and his inexplicable survival caused growing terror among the asylum staff. Discomfort turned into fear and revulsion, and Jeff's mere presence was a cause for panic.
To contain the terror, the asylum team made a radical decision: Jeff would be locked in his room, deprived of any human contact. Food and water were passed through a small opening in the door. They didn't even care how this would affect him. Over time, they began to consider the idea of euthanasia.
It became increasingly difficult to believe that the boy with dark brown hair, fair skin, and differently colored eyes seen in the photos was the same "aberration" who was interned there.
April 27, 1977[]
In the early hours of that morning, a fierce storm ravaged the region, cutting off the electricity and plunging the asylum into darkness. Security was compromised due to the power outage, and the guards were overwhelmed trying to maintain order. Additionally, some maintenance work was underway in the west wing, resulting in temporarily unprotected areas accessible to the most cunning patients.
The patients' rooms were equipped with solid metal doors, reinforced with sturdy locks to ensure security. Each lock was electronically activated through a control panel located outside the room, allowing asylum staff to control patient access. However, with the power outage due to the storm, these locks were momentarily inactive.
Amidst the confusion and chaos that ensued after the explosion in the west wing, the patients noticed an opportunity to escape. Some of them, who were more lucid and cunning, took advantage of the darkness to open their room doors before power could be restored and the locks could function again. Amidst the darkness and the guards' confusion, the patients began to disperse through the corridors, running frantically towards the nearest exit, driven by a burning desire for freedom. Some screamed, others laughed uncontrollably, while the guards desperately tried to contain them.
With his keen ears picking up the sounds of chaos unfolding in the asylum, Jeff remained motionless in his room, watching the shadows dance around him. When he realized that his door was unlocked, a sense of joy surged within him. Without hesitation, he slowly rose from his bed, his eyes shining with disturbing intensity. With silent steps, he crossed the threshold of his cell, blending into the darkness of the corridor. While the turmoil continued to unfold around him, Jeff disappeared into the shadows.
As the guards finally realized Jeff's disappearance, it was too late to stop him. Sneaking through the shadows, he approached the asylum entrance, his steps as silent as those of a predator moving towards its prey. His destination was clear in his distorted mind: his home, where his family still resided, unconsciously awaiting him. With a dark purpose in mind, Jeff quickened his pace, eager to see them. The asylum had become just a stop on his way.
An Eternal Sleep[]
Jacob awoke amidst the darkness of the night, driven by thirst. The house was enveloped in a disturbing silence, only broken by the soft sound of his hesitant steps down the hallway. The moonlight, filtering through the cracks in the curtains, served as his only guide on his nocturnal journey.
As he approached the kitchen, Jacob sensed a strange presence. A human figure stood out in the dim light, clad in a dark hoodie. Their eyes gleamed with abnormal intensity, and the moonlight's reflection on a knife revealed a sharp blade.
He introduces himself as his brother, Jeff. Without saying a word, Jacob turns and runs desperately. Fear takes over your body, and your thoughts turn into a whirlwind of questions and anguish. How did Jeff escape from the asylum? What does he want? Meanwhile, Jeff started walking around the house, arriving in the bathroom. Inside, he saw his image reflected in the mirror, he observed his mouth. He felt he was not complete, he needed to increase his "joy". He brought his knife closer to his mouth, ready to finish what he started.
Jacob ran desperately to his parents' room. However, his parents, still sleepy and disoriented, failed to recognize the gravity of the situation. Jacob's pleas were interpreted as mere childish nightmares, and he was ordered back to bed.
As Jacob tried in vain to convince his parents of the imminent danger, Jeff's footsteps drew closer and closer to the room. The metallic sound of the knife scraping against the wall echoed through the corridors, increasing the terror that gripped the young boy.
Unaware of what else to do, Jacob hid in the closet. The darkness of the small space offered a precarious refuge, but the sense of helplessness and fear of the unknown were overwhelming.
Huddled in the closet, Jacob listened to Jeff's footsteps traverse the room. Time seemed to stand still, and each second became an eternity of anguish. Jacob's breath became shallow, and his heart raced erratically.
Margaret and Antony, awakened again by a noise in the room, assumed it was Jacob once more. Irritated, they ordered him to go back to sleep. However, the silhouette standing in the darkness left them perplexed.
The parents believe it is Liu, their other son, but the figure that reveals itself before their eyes is macabre and unmistakable. A gray hoodie stained with blood, a face marked by scars and cuts, a large sinister smile carved from ear to ear, missing lips and nose, bulging eyes that never seem to close, and black hair that frames the horrifying face.
Aghast and paralyzed with fear, Margaret and Antony recognized, with a heavy heart, that the figure before them was Jeff, but how? Jeff's "gentle" introduction only confirmed the horror of the situation, and the knife in his hand was a cruel reminder of the danger he posed.
With a macabre smile on his face, Jeff uttered words laden with psychosis. He claimed to miss the family, but his escape from the asylum revealed his true intentions. Amidst disjointed phrases, he criticized his parents for having him committed.
Margaret and Antony, still shaken by the macabre appearance of their son, attempted to explain themselves. However, their words sounded empty and futile in the face of Jeff's consuming psychotic rage. The pain of loss and the horror of the situation left them speechless, unable to calm the beast that was once their son.
Before Antony could react, Jeff attacked him ferociously. Nine merciless stabs pierced his stomach, leaving him on the brink of death. Blood gushed, creating a gruesome scene etched into Margaret's memory.
Fear paralyzed Margaret. The simple act of standing up became a herculean task in the face of the horror unfolding before her eyes. Helplessness and anguish consumed her being as she watched Jeff's cruelty manifest against her father.
Jeff then turned to his mother, asking her how much she hated him, how much she wished neither he nor Jacob and Liu were born. The fury in his bulging eyes was evident. He threw in her face all the suffering they had caused him and her husband, all the neglect and disdain they had shown.
She tried to manipulate the situation, as she had always been a manipulative mother, but it was futile. Jeff reminded her of when he was terrified of sleeping, and his parents' simple phrase "go to sleep" terrified him, saying that now the roles would be reversed, repeating that phrase and stabbing Margaret's chest 19 times.
Liu awoke to the disturbing noises coming from his parents' room, which left him apprehensive. Upon checking, he found not only their bodies but also Jeff mutilating them in the same way he mutilated himself. He didn't know what was more distressing: seeing his brother back with a grotesque appearance or his inert parents there. He recognized Jeff by the hoodie and hair.
Upon realizing Liu's presence, Jeff identified himself, thinking he wouldn't be recognized, while Liu was paralyzed by fear. Jeff began to express relief and joy at finally ridding the family of a great torment. Liu, terrified, showed no reaction, which irritated Jeff.
Jeff questioned if Liu was sad about it, insinuating that he was on his parents' side. He accused him of betraying him, suggesting he would take him to an asylum. Liu tried to argue, but fear made it difficult to speak, realizing the futility of trying to convince someone who was clearly unhinged.
As Liu tried to flee, Jeff pursued him, catching up to him and putting the knife to his shoulder. Jeff stabbed him several times, leaving him on the brink of death. However, something within Jeff prevented him from finishing Liu off: he simply didn't have the courage, despite all the hatred and anger mixed with pleasure and madness. Liu was the closest person in his life, one of his best friends, closer than family. As Liu lay unconscious, Jeff began to retreat.
The smile on Jeff's face, carved by a blade, lacking lips and eyelids, bulging eyes that prevented facial expressions, revealed tears in his eyes. He rushed to the nearest window and vanished. Minutes later, the sound of police sirens and ambulances could be heard approaching, cutting through the heavy silence that hung over the house. Apparently, the neighbors had heard the screams.
As he wandered through the darkness of the night, Jeff thought of three things: Randy, Troy, and Keith. He only knew where Randy lived, so he would be his next target for revenge. Every step he took was fueled by a dark determination, fueled by a thirst for blood and a mind warped by madness.
That night, Jeff found Randy first and rendered him unconscious before taking him to a cabin in the woods, where he tortured him physically and psychologically before setting the cabin ablaze with Randy inside. In the following nights, he tracked down and killed Keith and Troy while they slept. He then directed his attention to their parents and continued to kill the neighborhood residents as a form of revenge against the place.
Liu was rescued and institutionalized, while Jacob was found and taken to an orphanage. Jeff tried to find his brothers again, but they had disappeared. Investigations eventually identified the mysterious and bizarre killer as "Jeff the Killer."
As he committed the murders, Jeff began to revel in it. Just as when he mutilated animals, what had once been only a relief had become a hobby, but at that time, he had never directed his actions against people.
While committing the murders, he realized that it was no longer just about revenge; it had become a source of pleasure. This sensation, combined with hatred and rage, formed a perfect mixture. He couldn't describe how good it felt to feel that power, he just knew it was something enjoyable to feel. Since then, he never stopped.
