The Big Bully is a minor antagonist in 2009 Mario fangame Super Mario 63. He is the leader of the Bullies and the warlord who seeks to destroy all Toads and occupy Lethal Lava Land.

Biography[]

Before the events of "The Bully's Tower", Toads and Bullies have once lived together, in Lethal Lava Land in harmony. However, when Shine Sprites started falling from the sky, the two species declared a war to get the Sprites.

When Mario first enters Lethal Lava Land, he meets a couple of Toads who mistake him for a new replacement and send him to talk to the general in the Toad Fortress. There, the Toad general tells Mario about the leader of the Bullies, the Big Bully who has fallen into darkness thanks to his obsession with the Shine Sprites and will kill anyone who doesn't work for him to do so. He also tells him that one of his members had found a key and is used to unlock the doors to the tower, but didn't survive as he died from an injury. The general sends Mario to go to the tower to defeat the Big Bully, promising him a Shine Sprite as a reward.

When Mario enters the tower, he's forced to traverse through traps and fight Bullies untile he reaches the top of the tower where Big Bully resides. The Bully tells Mario that he can't beat him because he has the power of Shine Sprites with him. To defeat Big Bully, Mario must push him off the platform and into the lava three times. Aftr he's defeated, Big Bully sinks into lava and Mario is greeted with a Shine Sprite.

After Big Bully's demise, the war between Toads and Bullies has longs since ended and the two species no longer try to kill each other to take control of the land.

Trivia[]

  • While he does mention that Bowser was the cause of Shine Sprites falling, it's unknown where he got this information. Although it could've been from Bowser or Kamek, however.
  • The statements about how Toads mistakenly refer to Mario as "new replacement" implies that Big Bully's war took off many Toads lives.
