Black is a major antagonist in GameToons, serving as the overarching antagonist of GameToons' Rainbow Friends series. He serves as the main antagonist of "The FORGOTTEN RAINBOW FRIEND..." and "ORIGIN of Blue.exe?!", and the overarching antagonist in "The GOLDEN Rainbow Friend...".
He is the abusive father of Red who, unlike his son, despises anything that has color and mostly focuses on business. When he tries to attack Red for going against his ideas when the latter built the Rainbow Friends Playplace, he attacks him, only to accidentally be knocked into the machine and turned into a Rainbow Friend by Red. He's the archenemy of the latter, Gold, and the rest of the Rainbow friends.
He is voiced by Ryan Stewart, who had also voiced Red in the same series, along with Novisor in "Novisor: The Final Chapter".
Biography[]
The Forgotten Rainbow Friend[]
In the present, Black mutilates several of the Rainbow Friends. After attacking Blue, Black proceeds to attack a group of travelers who were initially driving to Odd World. Black flips their van over, knocking all of them out, before dragging one of them away. The group of players run into Red, who tells them about who Black is.
Black was initially a businessman who never saw or loved color, only black and business. He despised creativity and his son, Red, for his ideas of wanting to make his "friends" real. After he caught Red making doodles of his "friends", Black proceeded to rant about it and tells him that he will set him straight.
As the years went on, Black made Red work on business stuff, while the latter secretly worked on his own concept: the Rainbow Friends Playplace. Red continued working on his idea and saw color as he continued developing his plans. Once Red was finished, he decided to show Black what he had made. Although he smiled at first, he later changed his expression when he found out his son was working on the very thing that he's against.
Red gave Black a tour around the building, which made him even more angry. When the two made it to the laboratory, where Red shows Black a machine where he would bring the Rainbow Friends to life. But Black has had enough, and lunges at his son. Red smashes a flask filled with black ink on him and accidentally throws him into the machine. The machine turned Black into a Rainbow Friend. Black was furious when he saw what he became, despite Red expressing his remorse for this. Before he could make a move however, the floor collapses and Black falls into a pit.
Back in the present, Red tells the travelers to cover themselves with black paint to stay clear from Black. Blue appears and the group move on to find and stop Black. They see that Black had trapped the other Rainbow Friends in boxes. Black slashes Blue's stomach and tackles Red. The travelers find out that they need to blast Black with tinted stage lights in order to defeat him. Black throws a block at the group, and knocks them out. Red appears in front of Black and kills him with a powerful blast of light. The travelers and the other Rainbow Friends celebrate by going to Odd World.
The Golden Rainbow Friend[]
According to Gold, his father worked for a company owned by Black. The latter didn't like him at all, which caused Gold and his mother to worry when he started to be working away more often. One day, Black called Gold's father to work, only for him to never be seen again. Years later, Black decided to do an expansion project on his business by building a giant parking lot, which would mean demolishing several houses, including Gold's.
This resulted in him and his mother being homeless, along with the former having the work two jobs in order to pay off. When Gold's mother died, Gold went to the Rainbow Friends Playplace to get a job, only to be ambushed by Black, who was thought to had been dead after being defeated by Red prior. Black pushed Gold into the machine, turning him into a Rainbow Friend. Angry, Gold attacks Black, only for the latter to escape.
After Red convinces Gold to redeem himself, Black is shown spying on the the two, while remarking that things are gonna be fun.
Origin of Blue.exe?![]
Red and Blue were doing an experiment to turn human again, which backfires when the vial of black goo takes over Blue's body. Black, as Blue.EXE impales Red. Later, he follows Purple and knocks out Green. Purple tries to fight Blue.EXE, but fails and is knocked out.
Blue.EXE ties up Purple and Orange while they're hanging over a vat of black goo that has Black's face on it. Blue.EXE reveals that the vat will turn Orange and Purple to .EXEs as well so they "can be friends again". Purple calls him out by calling him crazy, only for him to lower the two towards the vat. Green appears and tries urging Blue to fight off for control. Black reveals that he's the one possessing Blue, and manipulates the latter to continue with his plans. However, Blue starts to regain control and tries shaking off Black, eventually ripping him off of him and throwing him down a drain. However, Black proceeds to go up another drain and presumably possesses Red, as the episode ends in a cliffhanger.
Trivia[]
- Black is considered one of the most evil of the Rainbow Friends, as he even wants to go as far as to killing not just the Rainbow Friends, but innocent people as well. He even tries to brainwash the Rainbow Friends after his first defeat.
