Black Doom is the main antagonist of the Sonic the Hedgehog fan-comic Flashback.
He is the vengeful leader of the Black Arms as well as the technical parent of Shadow the Hedgehog. Having managed to return since his last defeat, Black Doom manages to finish what he started by wiping out humanity, just as he planned to on his first crusade against Earth.
Personality[]
Black Doom is a malevolent evil overlord who has a pension against humanity, with him using his minions, the Black Arms, in order to get him back to his full power so that he can wipe out humanity. Black Doom is a very deceptive being, managing to manipulate Gerald Robotnik into being a pawn to his schemes of using the world as a food source. In the present day, Black Doom once again uses his skills to capture Maria so that he can use her as leverage, showing that he is willing to put the life of an ill child at risk just to get what he wants.
Biography[]
As with the original version. Black Doom's backstory starts like it does in the mainline games. With him contacting Gerald Robotnik and "helping" him by allowing him to use some of his DNA to create Shadow, However this is ultimately a trick in order to gain power and reign hell upon the world. However, his plans are ultimately unsuccessful, as he is defeated in Shadow the Hedgehog (if you want to read more about his actions in Shadow the Hedgehog, read here.) In the present day,
Black Doom has returned, wanting to finish what he started, he once more sicks the Black Arms onto the planet, having them presumably ravage many towns and cities in order to find the Chaos Emeralds, having the Black Arms terrorize citizens all the while. Eventually, after they gather all the Chaos Emeralds, Black Doom manages to return to a physical form, however was not able to be ressurrected as his most powerful form due to one of the emeralds being fake, which he quickly chews his minions out for.
Upon his resurrection, he meets Sonic, who got himself trapped in one of his bubbles, Black Doom seeing an opportunity to use this against Shadow, teleports himself onto the arc with the plans of using Sonic as leverage to get Shadow to do his bidding. However once he does so, he stumbles upon the wandering Maria, who had been brought to the present after a mishap caused by Shadow in the past. Realizing that she would be even better leverage against Shadow, he attempts to abduct her to use her in order to get Shadow to do what he asks. But before he can do that, Shadow and Gerald confront him, demanding that he stay away from Maria, however Black Doom ultimately does not care, nor does he perceive them as a threat, instead teleporting away, taking Maria with him and trapping her in one his bubbles.
This capture is ultimately short lived however, as soon Sonic's friends infiltrate the Black Comet and free both Sonic and Maria, and upon Black Doom returning to see this fact, he is infuriated, but he barely has any time to dwell on it, as Shadow jumps him from behind. Black Doom does manage to stop him momentarily by trapping him in one of his bubbles, but Sonic, who manages to return using Chaos Control, comes back to get Shadow out of there before Gerald powers the Eclipse Canon, destroying the Black Comet and Black Doom along with it, leaving his amulets to fall into the infinite abyss of space.
