Black Star (Korean: 검은별과 geom-eunbyeolgwa) is the main antagonist of the 1979 South Korean animated parody film Black Star and the Golden Bat by Samyoung Film Co. Ltd. parodied of Golden Bat and Batman.
Personality[]
Black Star is a bitter, cruel and sneaky mastermind who wills to dominate the universe at any cost. While he speaks in a calm tone, he is also short-tempered as he throws fits when things don't go his way.
Black Star is absolutely no joke. He takes his villainous career very seriously and doesn't tolerate any failure, especially from his subordinates.
Although he isn't scared of anyone, including Golden Bat, he, despite his superhuman strength, is shown to use weapons to defeat his archenemy due to the latter's power.
Appearance[]
Black Star is a tall muscular humanoid creature of unknown species wearing a gray and blue suit with black accents alongside a black star in the center of his chest. He also wears a black and red cape with a golden button in the center alongside a matching mask having gray accents, red horns, and has gray eyes with black pupils. He also wears blue gauntlets and black boots.
History[]
Black Star first appears watching the news reporting the main institute for high-tech developments they present to exhibition of national achievements to a new space project, the TNM Rocket, armed with four plutoniums and engines led by Professor Kim. Hearing of this, Black Star turns the television off and loses his temper, so he rung the AeroSpace Science Center, identified himself and told them that he is going to steal all their secret designs and blueprints for the TNM rocket in use for world domination.
Black Star subtly invades the warehouse were the blueprints are located and snuck past the security guards, unknown to them, he broke into the warehouse and stole the blueprints. Once the guards were finally aware of him breaking into the building, they ran in in attempt to catch him, only to find out in the dark room that he has killed some security guards inside and left notes of his logo on them causing the guards to flee in terror.
The public heard of Black Star's massacre causing families etc. to panic. Black Star hired a mafia known as the Mustache Gang to help him on his mission to conquer the Earth. After the prince of justice, Golden Bat to appears and defeated the Mustache Gang in the dungeon they were staying at and managed to retrieve the blueprints. Black Star came down the stairs into the room where they were defeated. Hearing his steps, the men were terrified and when the latter confronted them, the leader begged for mercy of their failure, but Black Star was annoyed anyway and booted the leader right in the face. Black Star vowed revenge.
Later on, when the three kids and their dog accidently discover Black Star's lair, Black Star's subordinates alongside his right-hand man assembled together in the meeting room. Black Star showed up and explained his plan to conquer the world and planned to kidnap Professor Kim, one of the world's greatest scientists since the latter is the only one who can invent these powerful weapons and will attempt to force him to cooperate. A little later on, Black Star's right-hand man meets Black Star in his office and talk about a plan to kidnap the Professor.
That night, Black Star's assistant rung Professor Kim and told him to go the landscape where he would find his lost daughter, but once this happens, it is an unexpected story where the Black Star shows up, but the former's security guards who accompanied Kim, attempt to arrest him, but Black Star who shows no fear, overpowers them, knocks them all out and flies off with the Professor to his lair.
After Golden Bat defeated the Black Star Gang and flew up in the sky with the rescued kids, Black Star magically drilled out of the ground, and when he saw them all fly off in the sky, he bitterly planned to torment Golden Bat.
In the room the Professor was held hostage, Black Star came in the room and confronted Kim and demands his collaboration which to Kim refuses. As a consequence, the tyrant threatens that he won't come back home alive if he won't. Hearing the call from Young-hee, Professor Kim's daughter who begged him to rescue her father, goes on his mission to rescue him from the evil Black Star. Golden Bat breaks into Black Star's fortress and knocks out all of his henchmen who attempted to halt him, Black Star, watching the situation on the screen of his control room, orders one of his giant robots to destroy him, which also ended up destroyed by the Golden Bat. However, Golden Bat then falls into one of Black Star's trap being a a heating room in attempt to melt him down with lava via, however this fails as Golden Bat appears unaffected by the lava and flies out of it much to the shock of Black Star, so the latter runs out of the control room.
Black Star confronts Golden Bat in the assembly room and the former throws a brick at him, but thanks to his abs, does no affect on him, the former instead grabs a sword and blasts a ray at Golden Bat, but once again, it does no affect on him too, and when Golden Bat shoots his finger rays at him who defends himself with the sword and the bat snaps his sword into 2 pieces. Black Star had a ray pistol, but he misses and Golden Bat punches him in the face and kicks him down, but Black Star continues his attempts to blast him with his gun and manages to briefly put Golden Bat unconscious and is about to finally blast him, until a huge explosion distracts him and Golden Bat runs away before he could shoot him, Black Star continues his attempts to destroy him who was flying around the area, but with our hero's superhuman strength, he karate chops off half of Black Star's right arm. Because of this, Black Star is unable to fight back and desperately flees the exploding room via soaring through the roof. Golden Bat aborts chasing after him to instead rescue Professor Kim before the whole fortress explodes.
Quickly after that, on the landscape, Black Star sitting on a rock miserably watches Golden Bat escape with the professor and shouts that he will get one day meet up with him again and get his revenge.
