This universe’s Joey has become a bloodthirsty maniac who will stop at nothing to get his prey. Anyone who ventures further in this world will be hunted down by him because you are doing what he wants you to do. Get out while you still can cause he will find you. This universe is no longer safe. | „ |
~ AU Vampire Shadow's message on a cave wall, warning those who came into the universe of Voltage. |
“ | You're weak, Joey. Weak and pathetic! Not too long ago, I was the same as you—a hero! The number one hero of my universe, in fact! You know exactly what it's like to hold the entire world on your shoulders! Doesn't that wear you down? DOESN'T IT?! You spend every second of your life rushing to save someone or stop this villain! You never get time to yourself! You don't have time to think about anything else! And one day...I broke. I couldn't take the endless cycle anymore! I killed my friend with my own hands!... Yet, it was the moment where I felt the most alive ever since being a hero! I broke the chains that held me back! Now, I'm the most free I've ever been. You're too weak to understand this! You will never UNDERSTAND HOW ALIVE I FEEL!! Oh, well, it's your loss! | „ |
~ Blood Voltage to his good counterpart before nearly landing a killing blow on him. |
AU Joey Tempest, later known as Blood Voltage or just Voltage, is a major antagonist of Tabbykitth's Tabbyverse, serving as the main antagonist of the Tabbic Journeys movie, Tabbyverse of Madness, the overarching antagonist of Joey's Mystery Case, and a major antagonist of The Tabbyverse Chronicles.
He is an alternate universe version of Joey Tempest who was once a famed hero until he became a bloodthirsty maniac upon accidentally killing his version of Tails Nine in a fit of rage. While originally constrained to his universe, he would eventually invade the mainstream one following Tails Nine and Wade Itzal entering it. Now taking residence there, he seeks to continue his murderous rampages.
Bio[]
AU Joey Tempest's life was once the same as his main universe's counterpart. He was a beloved hero, a world-famous musician as a member of EuropetheBand, and the most powerful person in his universe.
Appearance[]
He is 6’1ft tall with short brown hair with a black leather jacket, black jeans, a black shirt with a yellow lightning bolt on it, black boots, black gloves, some black metal armor on him, a sword on his back, and a black tattered cape on his back. When it is nighttime, several stripes on his outfit that are black at day are seen glowing bright yellow.
After draining 10% of Joey's powers, his yellow lightning bolt permanently changed to red and whenever it is dark, several stripes on his outfit that are black at day glow red.
Personality[]
Prior to his descent into villainy, he was shown to be suffering from extreme stress due to the AU C.E.O. constantly forcing him to defend people from attack. As shown through his interaction with AU Tails Nine right before killing him, it can be inferred that he is bitter because he has never been able to relax and be a normal person.
As a villain, he is a merciless and sadistic man who uses his immense powers to brutally torture and kill all who get in his way. His cruel nature also extends to harming his own friends and children, as shown when he used an Electro-bomba to effortlessly wipe out them in AU C.E.O's mansion and attack and kill two villager children that annoyed him—all without a shred of remorse. Voltage also taunts those he attacks or kills, as shown when he tells the main universe C.E.O how he killed his universe's version of his sister—even making up a worse account of what happened to twist the knife further. His love for violence borders on addiction since he gains an intense rush of power whenever he ends someone's life.
Voltage can act in a psychotic manner, tending to scream randomly, break into maniac fits of laughter, repeat himself over and over, and suddenly switch emotions. He can lose all sense of rationale when particularly desperate to kill, leading to him recklessly destroying any and everything in his way, even if it could hurt himself as a result.
In the few times he managed to regain some sanity, he took on a manipulative persona. He quickly came up with a fake story that explained the destruction of the unnamed village and the disappearance of AU Tails Nine, which convinced even the doubtful AU Vampire Shadow at the time. Furthermore, he tricked every hero into going on a faux mission to rescue a supposedly captured AU Tails Nine, only for him to kill almost all of them. This manipulative side comes out again when he crosses over to the main universe; he pretends to be the real Joey Tempest while going on another rampage.
Powers/Abilities[]
Natural Abilities[]
- Electrokinesis- Like his mainstream counterpart, he has control over electricity. He can create physical lightning bolts to throw at opponents or use any part of his body—most commonly his hands—to generate pure electric shocks and beams. These attacks are strong enough to render civilians and weaker heroes and villains dead from cardiac arrest. Unlike his good version, he can use this power in more creative and deadly ways such as:
- Draining- Whether through touch, being in the presence of a lot of power, or with his tendrils, Blood Voltage can leech electricity out of his environment. This includes electronics, people also with electronic powers, thunder and lightning storms, and even the natural electricity a living body produces to keep itself alive. He can also use the electricity still in a person's body against them to fry their insides or even they have higher durability, torture them repeatedly.
- Tendrils- From his fingertips, he can form physical rope-like tendrils to grab and throw objects and people. When in their grasp, it is nearly impossible to escape since touching the tendrils hard enough causes painful shocks to the victim. Voltage can also send electric shocks right into the person without them needing to struggle. As stated above, he can use them to siphon electricity from an object or person.
- Electronic Tampering- With his ability to drain power out of things, he may use it to render objects powered by electricity useless by short-circuiting them or outright making them explode. He can also use his own powers to turn them on if necessary.
- Electro-bomba- His most deadly attack, it allows for him to level entire cities and kill virtually anyone caught in its vicinity—no matter their durability. To activate it, he absorbs all electricity out of an area, including the natural electrical outputs in a living body. Once it enters him, he expels it along with his own energy in an explosion proportionate to the area he siphoned the electricity out of. While effective at destroying anything in his path, it drains him for a period of time, leaving him physically exhausted and unable to use his abilities until he recharges. Although somewhat mitigated once he absorbed 10% of Joey's power, it still renders him with little energy to spare.
- Supernatural Speed- He is way faster than his mainstream counterpart as he is capable of reaching speeds that even Joey can’t reach. This makes him very unpredictable and hard for the heroes to catch.
- Supernatural Strength- He is way stronger than his mainstream counterpart as he is capable of lifting things that Joey cannot lift. He was able to grab John Levén as Kamen Rider Buffa Jyamashin Fever Zombie Form up by the hand and throw him away despite the massive height difference between them.
- Supernatural Durability- He is capable of taking on attacks that can kill a normal being and not have a scratch on him. His durability is way stronger than his mainstream counterpart to the point where nobody can take him on. When struck by one of Levén's berserker claws in his Kamen Rider Buffa Jyamashin Fever Zombie form, it only left behind a small cut on his arm.
- Supernatural Pain Tolerance-
- Supernatural Reflexes-
- Hand-to-Hand Combat- He is good at hand-to-hand combat.
- Martial Arts- He is good at martial arts as he is able to severely injure his opponents with his skills.
- High-Intelligence- His intelligence is beyond normal as he was able to trick his friends into going on a fake mission to rescue their believed-to-be missing friend AU Tails Nine. Since his universe is largely the same as the mainstream one, he also has practically the same memories as his good counterpart, who was already highly intelligent.
- Swordsmanship- He is good at wielding a sword.
- Immortality- His immortality makes him unable to die through natural causes or any other means. However, he is capable of suffering injuries that can debilitate him for a period of time, assuming they overpower his immense durability.
- Intimidation- Due to his ruthlessly sadistic nature and immense power, he is feared on some level by even the most powerful heroes and villains, or if not afraid, show hesitance to face him. This is best exemplified when C.E.O attempted to battle him but was easily overpowered and nearly lost his life, leading to the latter to quickly gain a fear of him. The only characters known to show zero fear or hesitance around him are Dragon Hunter Lancelot and Akuma Omnoraki.
- Tracking- As part of his electric-themed abilities, he can detect the electricity a human body naturally generates from long distances, along with heroes and villains that also have electric powers. However, this ability can only work when in a densely populated environment or if the hero/villain's electrical output is strong enough.
- Fearlessness- No matter who or how many people he faces, Voltage never shows signs of fear or hesitance to fight them. Even during the few instances an opponent gains the upper hand, he maintains his resolve and continues fighting. The only time he will retreat is when he grows tired from exhausting his power reserves or he finds a strategic incentive for it.
Stolen Powers[]
- Shield Generation- After he stole some of Joey's energy, he gained the ability to create a physical shield to defend himself from attacks. He can also surround parts of himself or his entire body in an electrical field to further deflect any damage he may sustain during a battle. As a byproduct of its durability, he can use the forcefield to pass through and destroy objects when running or flying through them fast enough.
- Claws- Although he rarely utilizes them, he can form electricity into physical claw-like blades on his gloves. As shown when he had Morrigan in his grasp, they are sharp enough to scratch and slice apart flesh without applying much pressure. He can also use them in close quarters combat situations to enhance his already formidable martial art skills.
- Flight- Thanks to Akuma giving him the idea to try it, Voltage can create a pair of physical dragon-like wings to fly or hover with. Although he first struggled with coordinating himself, he quickly learned how to control himself while in the air, allowing for him to fly with unnatural levels of speed. It also grants him the ability to more easily dodge attacks from those stuck on the ground.

Trivia[]
- He was inspired by Mr. Hyde from the Jekyll and Hyde musical, Striker from Helluva boss, DuskxPhoenix's version of Destroyah, Monsterverse King Ghidorah, and the trope of an evil counterpart.
- He is also likely inspired by The Batman Who Laughs as both of them are psychotic versions of their good counterparts.
- His villain name, Blood Voltage, is based on his deranged behavior and his powers. It can also refer to the color of his lightning bolts toward the end of the special that he gained from draining some of Joey's energy.
- He is so far the only villain that C.E.O and Scout fear due to Voltage's psychotic behavior.
- His most powerful move, Electro-bomba, is partially named after the Tsar Bomba, the most powerful nuclear bomb ever detonated.
- He is the second evil counterpart to Joey, the first being King Tempest.
- However, since King Tempest only exists in Tabby's Timeline, Voltage is the only evil counterpart to Joey in the main timeline.
- According to one of his creators, he is aromantic asexual. Ironically, he shares the same sexuality as his enemy, C.E.O.
- According to his creators, Voltage doesn’t appear often because if he were to become the main antagonist, the franchise would get an R-rating due to how dark and brutal he is.
- His theme songs are Alive from Jekyll and Hyde and Monster by Kira.
- He is DuskxPhoenix's favorite villain and character in the series.
- According to DuskxPhoenix, Voltage loved bowling as a teenager and young adult. When not performing for his band or saving the day, he would unwind at a bowling alley. On top of that, he was a great player, to the point of going entire games with nothing but strikes.
