“ | Can we fix it? | „ |
~ Bob the Builder's catchphrase. |
Bob the Builder is the titular main antagonist of the MeatCanyon video Yokai Bob the Builder.
He is a twisted, morbid version of Bob the Builder who kidnaps Atomu's wife, Ahmya, after noticing a leak on the roof of his house due to not taking care of his own home , therefore not taking care of his own family.
He was voiced by AJSPARKX.
Appearance[]
In the video, Bob the Builder is massively different from his mainstream counterpart. His face is more realistic with no eyes and mouth. His neck is able to stretch to long proportions and his body is extremely emaciated with long claws. Despite these features, he still wears his regular outfit.
Biography[]
Bob the Builder is first seen outside Atomu and Ahyma's home, just standing in front of the entrance as Atomu asks him if he needs help. He then notices the leak on the roof and whacks his hammer on the wooden floor, signifying that he can fix it, but Atomu orders him to leave as he's not welcome there. Bob the Builder refuses to leave and asks if he can fix the leak, but Atomu doesn't understand what he wants to fix and Ahyma tells her husband to make him leave. Bob the Builder's head then falls off and stretches his neck, scaring both Atomu and Ahyma. Once one droplet of water drops down from the leak, Bob the Builder starts to chase them while extending his neck to very long proportions.
As the couple hide inside their room, thinking they are safe, Bob the Builder approaches the door and as Atomu tells the monster to leave them alone, he breaks the door down. He then kidnaps Ahyma by grabbing her like a snake with his neck and bashes Atomu away, causing his left eye to be injured and bleeding. He then tells Bob the Builder to let go of her, but he has disappeared, leaving a huge hole in the entrance. As Atomu cries for the loss of his wife, he tells the monster to show himself, which he does. Atomu then asks Bob the Builder where his wife is as he extends his neck towards him and tells Atomu how he can take care of his family if he doesn't take care of his own home. He then puts his finger on the leak, covering it with a liquid. Atomu then wants Bob the Builder to give his wife back, but Bob says that this can't be fixed, before floating away like a ghost.
Personality[]
Bob is obsessive and unyielding, Despite Atomu’s clear rejections, Bob is undeterred and insists on “fixing” the leak, showing a tenacity that borders on intrusion. This determination to fulfill his purpose, even when uninvited, suggests that he’s obsessively committed to his role as a fixer.
Bob’s behavior then turns disturbing, as his head falls off and his neck extended in unnatural ways. These actions are clearly intended to scare, suggesting an enjoyment of intimidation or a lack of concern for others' comfort.
Bob leaves like a ghost, floating away after kidnapping Ahyma, indicating he is something beyond human. This supernatural aspect adds to his detached, inhuman demeanor, as though he operates by rules and motives that don’t align with those of the people he interacts with.
Trivia[]
- Unlike many of MeatCanyon's animations, Bob the Builder's speech is mainly in Japanese.
- He is presumed to be summoned every time Atomu breaks his home. Therefore, his wife would be given back to him if he was careful with his house.
- This rendition of Bob is referenced in the Xploshi animation Build it, Benjamin! - Wet Cement, another Bob the Builder parody animation. When Benjamin accidentally walks into the wet cement, Craney goes to pull him out by using their hook, but accidentally dislocate Bob's neck, causing him to look like MeatCanyon Bob.
