~ Bowser to Mario before the final battle.

Bowser is the main antagonist of the 2009 Mario fangame Super Mario 63. He is the king of the Koopas who seeks to obtain the Orb of Power and use it to take over the world. As usual, he is Mario's archenemy.

Biography[]

In the beginning of the game, Bowser is first seen on top of his airship, preparing the attack on Princess Peach's castle with Kamek. Just when Mario arrives at the castle to meet with Peach and some Toads, Bowser's army suddenly appears to ambush the place. During the attack, Peach tries to defend herself by using a Toad as her shield, only for Bowser to burn the Toad alive. Bowser then orders Kamek to get rid of Mario. Obeying his orders, Kamek knocks Mario out unconscious.

Inside of Peach's castle, Bowser orders Kamek to destroy the Shine Sprite Orb. This results in the orb exploding into multiple Shine Sprites which get scattered across the Mushroom Kingdom, putting it in total darkness.

In the Dark World, Bowser challenges Mario in a battle, only to lose to him and get the key from him. However, it turns out that Bowser cursed the said key and uses it to teleport Mario far away from Peach's castle.

In the Ancient Fortress, Bowser reveals to Mario that he has captured the Orb of Power and after he loses to him, he tells him that he'll use the orb to summon a massive meteor and use it to destroy the entire world before teleporting away with the orb.

Back in Peach's castle, Bowser announces to Mario and Toads that everyone is going to perish in a two days and tells the Toads to join him otherwise they'll meet their demise. It also gets revealed later on that Bowser has kicked Kamek out of his after everything he did for him. Kamek Tells That Orb Of Power Somehow possessing Bowser. The flashback where Bowser is seen to abuse Kamek back when he was a baby was also shown.

Later in Bowser's castle, when Mario reaches him, Bowser is seen riding his Clown Car and tells him that the meteor is soon going to be launched before proceeding to fight Mario. After being defeated, Bowser explodes but as it turns out that was actually just a robot and that the real Bowser is at the very top of the castle, preparing to launch the meteor at Peach's castle.

At the top of the castle, Bowser challenges Mario into one final battle, now that he has the Orb of Power with him. After being defeated one final time, Bowser falls off his castle To The Lava. Despite this, the meteor is still going to to destroy the entire world. However, it wasn't long until Kamek comes in to inform Mario and Peach that Bowser simply wanted to rule the world instead of destroying it but was brainwashed by the orb into doing the latter. Kamek then reverses the Orb's spell, so the explosion could happen inside of Bowser's castle. Unfortunately for Mario, a small meteor hits him and makes him fall off the castle, forcing him to escape it while Kamek flies off with Peach. After Mario escapes, the meteor lands on Bowser's castle and completely obliterates it on impact.

Trivia[]

  • The flashback of Bowser abusing Kamek back when he was a child is a direct homage to Yoshi's Island.
  • During Bowser's monologue about his plan to destroy the world, the word "Ultimate" is misspelled as "Ultamite".
  • His sprites were ripped from Super Princess Peach, with one exception to be from Partners in Time.
