~ Bowser to Mario before fighting him. |
Bowser is the main antagonist of the 2017 Mario fangame The End of Mushroom Kingdom.
He's the king of the Koopas who created the Z-Star in hopes that he could rule over the Mushroom Kingdom. As usual, he's Mario's archenemy.
Synopsis[]
At the beginning of the game, Bowser and Kamek attack the Mushroom Kingdom by launching a Z-Star empowered Banzai Bill at it, destroying the kingdom and killing countless people within with only a few survivors, one of which being Mario himself. After the successful attack, Bowser takes Peach away, so he could her for his plans. After surviving the attack, Mario goes to find out Bowser and defeat him.
As Mario travels across the destroyed Mushroom Kingdom, he sees multiple people getting possessed by Z-Star, including Toad, Kamek and even Luigi himself. When he defeats Luigi, Mario finds out he was manipulated by Bowser into thinking Mario was the bad guy. As Luigi dies in peace, Mario continues to go after Bowser to get revenge on him for what he did to Luigi.
When Mario finally reaches him, Bowser reveals that he created the Z-Star by using Kamek's magic to fuse a Power Star and a Poison Mushroom together. After he's finished explaining, Bowser has the Z-Star possess Peach against her will, forcing her to fight him. After Peach is killed, Mario cries over her corpse, feeling sorry that he had to fight her to death.
When Mario reaches him again, he calls Bowser out for everything he did, from destroying the Mushroom Kingdom to forcing him to kill his loved ones. Bowser uses the Z-Star to power himself up for the final battle. After Bowser is defeated, he blows up all of his airships just to kill Mario one final time while he dies.
If Mario collects all three pieces of the Time Star scattered throughout the game, the star will ask Mario if he wants to go back in time to stop Bowser from destroying the Mushroom Kingdom. If Mario accepts, he'll travel back to the time before the attack took place.
Because the Time Star couldn't keep his physical form in Mario's world for too long and has to go back to his own dimension, Mario rushes to Bowser's airship before Bowser could start his attack. When Mario arrives at Bowser's airship, he tells the Koopa king that he'll make him pay for causing the deaths of his loved ones. When Mario obtains the full Bloodfest energy from the Time Star, Bowser sends the Z-Star to fight him.
After the Z-Star is destroyed, Mario gives Bowser and Kamek a chance to stop the attack and leave the Mushroom Kingdom. When the two decline, Mario uses his remaining Bloodfest energy to finish them off once and for all.
Trivia[]
- Bowser's final form is a lightly modified version of Giga Bowser from the Super Smash Bros. series, with black sclera and red irises.
