Brokenstar: Alright, everyone. Time to kill your leaders and loved ones.
Harespring: Uh... But why?
Brokenstar: Revenge, of course! For how they've wronged you.
~ Brokenstar explaining his plan to the trainees

Brokenstar is a supporting antagonist in Moonkitti's Warrior Cats shorts and I Spoil series. He was once the leader of ShadowClan, who was infamous for making kittens into warrior apprentices to send into battle three moons early, often resulting in their deaths. He was exiled from ShadowClan and later became a prisoner of ThunderClan. After his death, his spirit went to the Dark Forest, where he started training living cats - namely Breezepelt - to help him and his fellow Dark Forest spirits get revenge on the living world.

He is voiced by Moonkitti in the I Spoil series as well as in Yellowfang and Breezepelt, and by improductivenot in Change Sides.

Appearance[]

Brokenstar is a brown tom with yellow eyes and a dark brown nose. He has dark brown stripes on the top of his head and on his back, and his tail is bent into a somewhat lightning bolt shape.

Biography[]

Shorts[]

Yellowfang[]

Firepaw goes to visit Yellowfang, who insults him for bringing back fresh bedding every time she asks him to kill her son Brokenstar, who ThunderClan has taken prisoner. Firepaw, not having been listening to her entire rant, comments that Yellowfang looks hungry an goes to get her some fresh-kill. She tells him to kill Brokenstar when he gets back, sighing that he'll get to it eventually. Beside her, Brokenstar gives a small laugh.

Breezepelt[]

When Crowfeather confronts his son Breezepelt for attacking Poppyfrost and Jayfeather, Breezepelt replies that he isn't his father anymore, saying his new role model is the cat who forced children to fight to the death. Brokenstar then shows up, giving a brief "Hey".

Change Sides[]

Brokenstar announces to the Dark Forest trainees that it's time for them to kill their leaders and loved ones. When Harespring asks why, he says that it's revenge for how they've been wronged. The trainees are hesitant though, and he, Hawkfrost and Mapleshade realize they don't have any desire for revenge.

I Spoil[]

Into The Wild[]

At the Gathering, Brokenstar tells ThunderClan and RiverClan that ShadowClan's medicine cat Yellowfang has been exiled for eating kittens, and adds that he had driven out WindClan. The second anyone leaves ThunderClan's camp, Brokenstar then shows up to murder everyone. In the ensuing battle, Lionheart and Rosetail are killed.

Later, Brokenstar sends Clawface to kidnap Frostfur's kits, and he kills Spottedleaf when she tries to stop him. When going to get the kits back, Yellowfang informs Firepaw and Graypaw that Brokenstar has been making kits go into battle, as well as killing a few of them and framing her for it. When he's confronted, Brokenstar reveals that he killed Mufasa from The Lion King, as well as his father Raggedstar, and the kits who's deaths he framed Yellowfang for. Brokenstar is then driven out of ShadowClan.

The Rise of Scourge[]

Brokenstar, Clawface and an unnamed warrior break into BloodCla territory while wandering the twolegplace, and BloodClan's leader Scourge proceeds to kill the unnamed warrior.

Fire and Ice[]

ThunderClan finds prey bones with ShadowClan cats' scent on them and assume the neighboring Clan has been stealing their prey, but Yellowfang tells them Brokenstar is the real culprit. Brokenstar then suddenly shows up, telling ThunderClan they have nice kits while looking at Ashkit, Fernkit and Cloudkit. Before he can steal them though, eveyone starts beating him up, and he loses a life. Fireheart suggests they take the rest of his lives, but Yellowfang says no, revealing that he's her son before dragging his body into the medicine den.

Forest of Secrets[]

ShadowClan and WindClan both attack ThunderClan at once for keeping Brokenstar alive as a prisoner. After they're fought off, Bluestar's warriors yell at her for insisting on keeping him in camp, and Tigerclaw defends Brokenstar by saying he isn't so bad compared to him. After Tigerclaw's failed coup, Fireheart witnesses Yellowfang killing Brokenstar by feeding him deathberries. His spirit then goes to the Dark Forest.

The Fourth Apprentice[]

Several years later, Brokenstar shows up at the Moonpool beating up Jayfeather alongside Breezepelt using plastic lightsabers, and is driven away by Honeyfern's holy magic. He later appears with Tigerstar and Hawkfrost to try and give curses to the newborn Cherrykit and Molekit, but Lionblaze chases the three of them off with a broom.

Fading Echoes[]

In the Dark Forest, Brokenstar is working together with Tigerstar, Hawkfrost and Darkstripe to gaslight their newest recruit, Breezepelt. Later, when Jayfeather, Yellowfang and Spottedleaf visit the Dark Forest, Brokenstar catches them and tells them they can't go in. Yellowfang asks why, and he just replies that he said so, which his mother accepts, leaving. Spottedleaf and Jayfeather then sneak past him to go spy on the other Dark Forest spirits.

Night Whispers[]

Jayfeather uses his powers to enter Ivypaw's dreams, where he sees Brokenstar and Hawkfrost overseeing a fight between her and Breezepelt. When Ivypaw visits again, Hawkfrost has her play King of the Hill with Brokenstar and Mapleshade. On another visit, after Tigerstar announces to the trainees his plan of invading the living world, Brokenstar pulls Ivypaw aside and brings out Flametail's ghost, telling her to kill him. Ivypaw protests that ghosts can be killed, but he reminds her that it's Warrior Cats, and adds that ghosts can probably be killed twice. She accepts this, but before she can kill Flametail, Tigerheart stops her, saying that's his brother. Tigerstar then has Brokenstar let Flametail go to appease his grandson.

Sign of the Moon[]

When her friend Blossomfall is losing a life-or-death dance battle, Ivypool saves her by flinging her opponent Ratscar into the sky. Brokenstar asks why she did that, saying it would've been funny for Blossomfall to have died on her first day of training.

The Forgotten Warrior[]

During a Dark Forest meeting, Brokenstar sits on a tree branch alongside Mapleshade and Tigerstar, where he addresses the trainees. He announces that soon they'll all do something really cool, and Mapleshade will order a pizza when it happens, adding that everyone is only allowed to have two slices each. Wanting to know what this thing will be, Ivypool demands that Brokenstar give her a promotion, to which he brings Antpelt's spirit to her and demands she kill him. Convincing herself that killing a ghost doesn't count as murder, she does so, causing Antpelt to fade away forever.
