Overview
TV Trope

I have been programmed to do many things. I have lead Mendax's armies, destroyed entire multiverses, torture those he considers criminals. I have done many things... and I will admit, none of them were good. However, Mendax forgot to do one thing... program me to remain loyal to him. While I do agree with some of the things he wants... I truly don't care for him.
~ C.A.I.N.
My Emperor, finding this thing may actually help with our plans. This thing hates Nekrozoth about as much as you do. If we free it, we could possibly succeed with our plans if manipulate it. We have to have this thing be on our side, since it refuses to work with those that it considers to be evil. We need to be careful as well, it has the ability to brainwash people it sees as evil, so it cannot know that we aren't the good guys. I do think using Sōsaku works... but there are some risks that we could be taking.
~ C.A.I.N. forms a plan with Mendax.
If they don't bow before us, they will once they see something horrific. That is why I am willing to abuse my power to kill people in this pathetic multiverse. I once showed this to someone who had one of my chips on their neck. I programmed them to make them do something horrific to themself... and they were never heard from again. Once everyone found out what happened to him, they knew it was best not to mess with me. They knew that they had to continue to do as I asked. Fear will keep them in line.
~ C.A.I.N. making it clear that it will keep people under it's authority in a multiverse it took over.
The multiverse is in aim, sir. Just one click of a button, and then it will be all gone. You may fire when you believe you are ready.
~ C.A.I.N. before Mendax destroyed a multiverse.

C.A.I.N. (stands for Chaostar Artificial Intelligent) is an A.I. created by Mendax that controls the Chaostar and it is a commander of the New Order's armies. It also is a ruler of a multiverse that the New Order rules over, controlling the people there by attaching them to microchips on the back of their necks. While it may seem loyal to Mendax, it truly doesn't care all that much about him and has plans on betraying him. It is a sadistic A.I. and possibly one of the New Order's cruelest members.

It appears as a major antagonist in the Tales of the Omniverse franchise, serving as a supporting antagonist in Multiversal Legends, a major antagonist in Forces, and a supporting antagonist in Pandora Files.

It's voice was provided by a text to speech program and was created by Your Not So Average Guy.

Personality[]

Go ahead now... scream.
~ C.A.I.N. taunting a prisoner who he had tortured, sadistically.

C.A.I.N. does usually seem rather calm, possibly being the calmest member in the New Order. While it may be cruel and sadistic, it does usually seem rather polite and calm toward everyone it speaks to. However, it mainly does this just to manipulate people or make people believe that it isn't that bad, not exactly because it is actually friendly, it truly is anything but. Even when it isn't friendly, it usually does remain calm, having full control over it's emotions, despite being a computer.

Even though it was programmed to be evil, it does also have an understanding of what's right and what's wrong. It also doesn't really care if it is evil, given that it fails to see why people should be either good or evil. It even finds Mendax to be rather pathetic, not exactly caring for him. It doesn't believe that Mendax can truly surpass his father in anyway possible, even if he tries. C.A.I.N. truly does believe that Mendax is just a hypocrite, given that he wants to be worse than his father but has only done things that hardly stand out. However, despite not truly caring for him it does slightly respect Mendax for creating it. However, it's respect is somewhat twisted. It also believes that Nekrozoth is pathetic since even though he created evil, it is aware that people like Xorin were already evil in a sense before he created it. Because of this, C.A.I.N. believes that Nekrozoth didn't actually create evil.

It generally likes to cause suffering, torturing many people in the multiverse it rules, mainly just for fun. It has entire sections in the Chaostar, filled with people restrained where it tortures them through many different methods. It tore some people apart just to hear them scream and it has no problem with torturing children even. It even has machines that make people relive their traumatic experiences and sometimes kills people only to revive them, but then kill them again.

It also feels zero remorse for anything it has ever done, mainly because it just doesn't see the point in it. It willingly wiped out several multiverses without even a single bit of remorse, showing that it hardly even has standards. It also sees itself as the greatest member in the New Order, believing that it is truly superior to everyone else and that everyone else in the New Order is truly weak, often using Eveicialis as an example of one who it believes is truly weak.

Biography[]

Creation[]

Not too long after the Chaostar's creation, Mendax created an A.I. for the Chaostar, calling it the Chaostar Artificial Intellect, whiich would later be referred to as C.A.I.N. It had full control over the Chaostar and served as it's commander; it would destroy many multiverses under the orders of Mendax, but sometimes, it would let him do it. Thousands of multiverses fell under C.A.I.N., which rather pleased Mendax. He decided to have it promoted, making it a commander of his armies.

With C.A.I.N. in control over several of the New Order's armies, more multiverses began falling to both the New Order and C.A.I.N. It even took over several multiverses for itself, taking control over the population by brainwashing them with microchips. Anyone who resisted C.A.I.N. would receive harsh punishments, and sometimes, they would they would never be heard from again. C.A.I.N. would have some of them tortured sadistically inside of the Chaostar for what they did, even children were tortured. As horrible as this was, C.A.I.N. just simply did not care.

Plan Against Mendax[]

While C.A.I.N. originally did care for Mendax, as time went on, he began to see him as pathetic. He didn't believe that he could truly be worse than his father no matter how hard he had tried, seeing him as a hypocrite who hardly stands out. C.A.I.N. began plotting on betraying Mendax at some point, eventually losing his respect for him.

C.A.I.N. began plotting against Mendax, planning on betraying him. However, it wasn't exactly sure what to do yet. However, after learning of the entity known as Sōsaku, it began to have a plan. It told Mendax about the entity, telling him that if they actually found Sōsaku, he could actually help with their plans. It told him that if they got him to think they were the good guys, they could manipulate it into joining them and help destroy the omniverse once and for all and kill Nekrozoth at last. It then told him that they had to kill Sōsaku right after just in case. Mendax thought this would be a great plan, and began searching for the five crystal shards that could free Sōsaku.

C.A.I.N. new what it actually wanted, however. It was going to kill both Mendax and Sōsaku after he killed Nekrozoth, then absorb Sōsaku's ablities to finally reign over the entire omniverse.

Trivia[]

  • It is implied that it may have actually gotten one of the people who it had brainwashed to kill themself.
  • It is similar to the Nekrovirus, given that it is an A.I. made by an cataclysmic dark lord.
  • It can actually make itself a physical form that it can go around in.
  • It has the ability to actually take full control over the people that it has chipped. It can even speak right through them.
