Philip Jack Brooks, also known by his stage name CM Punk, is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Triple H) of the 2025 WWE fanfilm Brawl, the first installment of the WWE related fanmade film series named the Brawlverse.
He is a wrestling star and an iconic villain who decided to join the forces of evil, and he is now part of a terrorist organization known as The Doomsday of Pain, under the full control of their supreme leader The Stranger, and commanded by their second in command leader Randy Orton. CM Punk became one of Randy's two right-hands, along with his partner in crime JBL, who commands the organization's military wing and leads its troops.
Despite being seemingly a loyalist of Orton and a significant member of McMahon's faction, CM Punk plans to betray and then usurp Orton's position and then rule the world by himself, still planning to reshape it as he sees fit. He is John Cena's third biggest enemy (after Randy Orton and Triple H), serving as a major rival and nemesis to John himself and the second archenemy for the rest of Cena's group of heroes.
History[]
CM Punk is a former wrestling star within the WWE franchise, antagonizing John Cena and other heroic figures very constantly. Once Vince formed a terrorist organization composed of wrestlers and mercenary militants called "The Doomsday of Pain", Randy Orton went rogue and was followed by Punk, who became a delusional member of Orton's faction. He climbed to the rank of the faction's chief lieutenant and one of Orton's two chief enforcers and right-hand men, alongside his new partner JBL. He served as a significant high-ranked member of the faction, tasked by Orton to supervise the operation in Russia and assuring the nukes are launched properly and on time. He used that opportunity for himself and his own desires, planning to shoot the nuclear missile straight at Orton in China, so he can usurp his position and become the new leader, possibly above McMahon, of The Doomsday of Pain organization. He would then proceed in reshaping the world in his own image, willing to brutally murder millions or billions by continuing the faction's nuclear operations as the new global deity like figure.
CM Punk firstly appears in the storyline, assisting Randy alongside JBL to show off their power at a nightclub. After Randy kills Benny Hazel ruthlessly, with no tiny drop of remorse, John Cena arrives with a warning shot to Orton, CM Punk and JBL, injuring the villainous trio and stopping them from committing more atrocities in the local pub. Randy does retreat, but the trio continue their plans against the world and John Cena. CM Punk is called in by Vince McMahon/The Stranger, along with Orton and Asuka. The trio were scolded by The Stranger since Asuka's instagram was hacked by Cena, who gathered information from her profile and knew more about Vince and Randy Orton's plans. Vince officially waged the war. Orton and CM Punk prepared themselves for one final battle against John Cena, his allies and the entire world, as Asuka gathered her group of villainous girls from the faction, which is composed by both Becky Lynch and the hypnotized Brie Bella, sister of the heroic Nikki Bella. CM Punk catches a private plane to Russia, entering a military base and beginning to manipulate the Russian army forces into preparing for a nuclear war. He used this chance to overthrow Randy Orton by launching a nuke at China straight to Orton's exact location. However, his victory was short lived. John Cena, Nikki Bella and others from their group of allies have successfully invaded Russia, and they've defeated Christian Cage and some troops who followed Christina's lead, as soon as they've come into the base's area. Later on during that same mission, the ruthless temporary ally of John Cena who was Triple H insisted he had a plan for CM Punk. In order to help defeat the common enemy Randy Orton, H sent his enforcer Brock Lesnar to spy and gather information from CM Punk, who easily discovered Lesnar was against him. Punk then killed Lesnar brutally. Afterwards, John Cena and his allies have all arrived to fight CM Punk. After confronting Punk all together, the group of heroes split up. John Cena went to personally defeat Punk, while Nikki went to hack into the military base's technological systems to cancel the nuclear attacks entirely at once, while she intended to rescue the captive Alexa Bliss, and at the same time, Triple H pretended to lead AJ Lee and Seth Rollins to a safe zone, but in reality he secretly lead them to The Undertaker to sell them as slaves, or sell their souls if they would disagree to become enslaved. CM Punk often overpowered Cena in their massive battle, often showing he is more powerful than his nemesis. CM Punk took his sword out and struck Cena. He then went towards Cena, ready to strike him once more and causing his brutal demise. However, Cena kicks him and causes Punk to die.
Personality[]
CM Punk is a nasty warrior, and in many ways, he was the most ruthless member of his faction (alongside Orton). He is willing to achieve global dominance by pretending to assist both Randy Orton and Vince McMahon, before usurping Orton and possibly also Vince by launching a nuke at China and targeting Randy's exact location, before taking his position by force and achieving global power by himself, becoming a deity figure for every man and woman on Earth instead of his two superiors. He does seem to go along with his close partner and equal JBL, but he probably does this just so he can survive until he manages to usurp Orton and take over, showing that it's not genuine care.
Punk is a sadist, enjoying every fight with his enemies and/or victims and making things very personal against Cena during his final fight. He is highly ambitious, as he does not accept others being above or on top of him within the chain of commands, and he intends to rule the world so he can have things his way. Furthermore, anyone who would stand in a more powerful position, he would try and get rid of him strategically as soon as he can. He is also perverted towards females, as shown when he taunts Alexa Bliss infront of Cena for being captured.
Trivia[]
- CM Punk is originally a prominent villain in WWE, and according to the creator, his tensions with John Cena and his villainy in the official wrestling franchise are what convinced him to make him such a major adversary in the fanfilm.
- When he is present at the meeting with Orton, Asuka and McMahon, the Fanfilm's creator confirms that he is so perverted towards girls that he actually couldn't stop staring at Asuka and the other two villain girls as soon as they've arrived and Asuka took them for their mission.
