~ Caillou threatening Daddy. |
Caillou is the titular protagonist of the educational children's television series of the same name. In the AOK YouTube series, Caillou The Grownup, he is grown up but still has the mindset of his 4 year old self, and often bothers his dad.
He was voiced by Rama Vallury.
Personality[]
Caillou is an imaginative boy like in the PBS Kids series. However, he remained the same as a grown up but became extremely selfish, spoiled, immature, dependent, manipulative, rude, and abusive, especially towards his dad, who was fed up with his childish behavior and was unafraid to criticize him for it. This does not faze him one bit and Boris's efforts usually results him getting blackmailed. He doesn't seem to take responsibility for his actions, such as when he disregards what Boris and Rosie has said to him to become a better person and claiming that his date Becky wasn't a very nice lady when the real reason she left him is because of his immaturity. Caillou actually believes that he is the self-entitled god and creator of the Observable Universe, and that the world revolves around only him and everyone else is used to serve and worship him to cater to all his whims in order to selfishly get his way at all times, even if it's impossible or ridiculous. Unbeknownst to him, he is actually embarrassing himself, especially in public. However, this only led to his own undoing by getting ran over by a car.
Background[]
Caillou Needs A Job[]
In the first episode of this web series, Caillou was first seen eating a bowl of cereal and witnesses Daddy (Boris) reading the newspaper. After Daddy (who is a very grumpy alcoholic in this version) responds that he's looking for new car insurance, Caillou replies that he's interested in car insurance as well, only for Daddy to reply that he hopes for Caillou to afford his own. Meanwhile, Mommy (Doris) notifies Caillou that she's going to the store and Caillou stays home with Daddy. This causes the latter to yell at Caillou, telling him that his behavior is getting old and suggests that he searches for a job. Caillou then went up to his room to use his imagination as a businessman, he imagines that he does a really good job (in actual fact, his paperwork contains nothing but gibberish or nonsensical programming either way). Meanwhile, Daddy interrupts and admits to Caillou that he and Mommy messed up for enabling Caillou and that Daddy blames himself (though Caillou reasonably tries to sympathize with his father) and firmly tells him that he needs a job. However, instead of thinking about it, Caillou refuses to find a job, and wasted no time throwing a temper tantrum and threatened his own father that he will physically assault him, begrudgingly making him give in.
Caillou The Grown Up Goes On A Date[]
Caillou announces that he is in love (most likely lust) and going on a date. He daydreams their wedding, also claiming himself to be a good kisser. In reality, he was seen making out with an inflatable sex doll and popped when he noticed that he's going to be late. He then spots his date Becky and joins her. Caillou takes a brief glance at the menu and then makes the final statement that there's not a lot of options. Becky gives him suggestions but Caillou aggressively turns them down and requests pizza, despite possibly not being on the menu. Becky then wonders if Caillou always acts the way he does. Later Caillou forbids her to talk like that to her future husband. Because of this, Becky calls Caillou a psycho and ends the date after only one minute. Meanwhile, he went to order a pizza and brought it home. Caillou claims that the reason why the date ended poorly is because Becky was mean towards him and Caillou has done nothing but dodge a bullet, which Daddy finds very far-fetched. He then requests Daddy to tuck him in to bed but he refuses, wanting him to do it on his own, but gave in when Caillou threatened to burn down the house.
Caillou The Grown Up Gets Laid[]
Caillou was first seen laying in bed excited to tell Daddy about the events. Caillou, under the identity of "Steve" after he got banned from Tinder, had sexual intercourse with Dora the previous night. He then offers a ride with him in Daddy's car, but not without Daddy's wallet. However, Dora did not enjoy this due to Caillou's reckless driving and then ended up hitting Arthur's car. Despite the fact that the car accident was his fault, he blames it on an upset Arthur and Buster and prepares to assault and "tell on" them. Buster suggests to Arthur that they leave but he chose to attack him for what happened. This prompts Dora to realize what a psycho Caillou really is. Meanwhile, Johnny Bravo shows up and began flirting with Dora, who is smitten with him as well and decides to get a ride with him, leaving Caillou as well, much to his sadness.
Caillou The Grownup Goes On Vacation[]
Daddy wants to desperately leave with Mommy on a vacation for their silver (25 year) wedding anniversary before Caillou finds out, knowing he will force him to invite him, but he hears them. His father tells him that it's just for him and Mommy, but Caillou blackmails him into inviting him by telling Daddy that if he doesn't come with, he will flood the house. Not wanting to risk it, Daddy gives in. They go to the beach where Caillou pretends to be Caizilla and destroys kids’ sand castles, which causes them to cry. Their angry father tries to beat up Caillou and Daddy offers to help beat Caillou, but Caillou throws sand in the man's eyes, damaging one of them. Later, he hangs out at the hotel room while his parents have a romantic evening, he stumbles across the alcohol in the mini refrigerator. Mistaking them for tiny juice bottles, he drinks some of it and says it tastes like "stinging" but he likes it, he then drinks it all and gets drunk, he then ruins his parents' date and vomits on his mother's new ring. The man from earlier appears and wants revenge for damaging his eye, but Caillou throws a butter knife, impaling his other eye, horrifying his father and Caillou celebrates his victory without any remorse.
A Very Caillou Thanksgiving[]
Caillou and his parents arrive at his grandparents' house. His grandpa asks how everything is going to which Boris responds it sucks and hates “[his] big mean son”. Caillou denies being mean and retorts that he is a “big nice son”. His grandma agrees. While Boris and Grandpa watch TV, Caillou helps in the kitchen with Grandma and Doris. Grandma asks him to help with the mashed potatoes, then he does something he calls "Mashed Pan-tatoes" by shoving some of the mashed potatoes in his pants, which Doris finds inappropriate but his Grandma finds it funny. He decides to check on Grandpa and Boris. He then does an inappropriate and rather messy dance move he fabricated called the "Thanksgiving Thunderfoot", which Grandpa enjoys but Boris doesn’t. Caillou hears the doorbell and answers it and sees his Uncle Jim, Aunt Susan, and his favorite cousin/female counterpart Boue and she says to Boris "Happy Thanksgiving, Uncle Daddy!" then Boris retorts by saying "Thanks, but I also hate you". At dinner, the pair aggressively refuse to have turkey and demand pizza so they can be "Pizza Pilgrims". Boris then orders the pair to shut up, but Grandpa then says that if they want pizza; they should order them a pizza. Boris rejects the idea of having pizza on Thanksgiving, as they are going to have their Grandma's turkey. This statement starts making Caillou and Boue cry for a bit & they say that they don't want to. Uncle Jim says that they don't need pizza, but Grandma plans to use her phone to order them a pizza regardless. She gets her phone smacked out by Boris, which Grandpa then chastises by warning him that if Boris hits his Mommy again, he's gonna eat pea soup tonight, and calls him a little shit. Caillou and Boue then childishly taunt him by saying "Daddy's in trouble". Later Boris is about fed up with them, but Grandpa is also fed up with Boris, thus failing to notice Caillou and Boue's inappropriate behaviors (they are somewhat aware of the behaviors, but are too nice to scold them), which caused Boris to say "What?!" (yet, this is muted out because of the bleeped-out s word), and Grandma agrees and tells Boris he's been acting like a maniac all day, though Boris retorts and says that he isn't and clarifies that Caillou and Boue are. Jim joins in and adds that he ain't wrong and says that he also hates his kid, too, to which Boris makes a face as if to say "see what I mean?", but Jim eases his mood and asks Boris if he can have some scotch, but Boris rudely pushes him back and rejects, saying it's his. Grandpa sees this and says that Boris is drunk, but Boris denies by saying "I had a wet Thanksgiving, sure. But I'm not drunk!", to which Grandma corrects by saying that Boris is making a fool out of himself. This makes Boris say "Oh. Oh, I'm making a fool of myself? Okay. Okay! If I was making a fool of myself, I'd be making...", followed by Boris drunkenly making a scene by Boris completely acting like Caillou by mimicking the "Mashed Pan-tatoes" (much to Caillou and Boue's delight that Boris is understanding their behavior with smiles on their faces while glancing at each other), the "Thanksgiving Thunderfoot" (to Jim, Susan and Grandpa's shock), eating mashed potatoes like pizza (much to Grandma and Grandpa's shock) and asking Grandpa "How do you like it, huh?!", before calling Grandpa "Daddy" by saying "Daddy? Daddy?! DADDY?! ALL FUCKING DAY!" (to Grandpa's annoyance at first, but now in shock and horror, along with Grandma). This horrifies Doris, causing her to say "Daddy! You're acting like Caillou!", but Boris ignores it by saying "Oh, Grandma and Grandpa thinks it's cute when he does it. They always take Caillou's side! And he sucks!", followed by Boris grabbing and drinking his glass of scotch and drunkenly singing, "I'm Daddy. That's me!", ending with throwing his scotch glass, smashing it. Caillou suggests to call the police on his own father while Boue silently nods yes, which Grandma agrees with. Before she can though, Boris smacks the phone again which angers Grandpa, making him say "Alright I warned you. It's fighting time, you little shit! Get over here!". Boris tries to calm Grandpa down by telling him he needs to relax. Unfortunately, Grandpa is finally fed up with Boris' antics and says "I can't relax because I raised a psycho! I hate my big mean son!". Caillou and Boue happily cheer seeing Boris get beaten up by Grandpa without any concern.
A Very Special Episode[]
Boris comes home with a pizza and Caillou is shown to be very excited. Caillou then takes all the pizza and refuses to share it. He then ate all the pizza with his mouth open. Boris finally snaps and decides to end his misery, by grabbing a gun he has locked away in his bedroom closet. When Boris returns, he witnesses Caillou is in the midst of a heart attack after he ate all the pizza and attempts to shoot him. Rosie and Doris try to help him but Boris forbids it. They find out they're too late and Caillou has passed away, only for it to turn out to be a dream. Doris calls Caillou to come downstairs and invites him to go shopping with her. Caillou insists on staying home with Boris, much to his anger and dismay. It is then revealed that he had the same gun from the dream concealed in his torso. It is then unknown what happened after the events of the episode, regarding Caillou, or better yet, if this episode is indeed canon or not. However, after the episode, Boris decided not to kill Caillou.
Caillou in Quarantine[]
Taking place during the former stay-at-home orders of the COVID-19 pandemic, Boris is shown to be at his wit's end with Caillou's antics. During the past months, Caillou has woken him up by jumping on his bed, tried to flush a giant burrito down the toilet due to his boredom, clogging it in the process, then got Boris fired when he interrupted a global video recession conference. Doris forced the two to go for a walk where Caillou happily, but foolishly started dancing in the street, while singing the song of the same name. As Boris fought Mr. Hinkle, (whose real first name is confirmed as Paul), Caillou was hit by a car. Boris asks for the license plate to make sure he's dead, and Caillou's last words were the license plate number. It was shown in the post video scene, Caillou did survive, but was in a full body cast, as well as traction. On one of the legs, it says "Get well.... or not. -Daddy-".
Trivia[]
- It is revealed that in the Caillou The Grown Up AMA, he requests money from his parents (particularly his father) and is too lazy to work for a living, making him a dependent person.
- He had met Dora prior to the events of "Caillou Gets Laid", and they dated for a while.
- He is 22 years old in the series.
- His former date, Becky, mispronounced Caillou's name as "Cayloo", a common mispronunciation often used in Vyond (formerly known as GoAnimate) and Plotagon videos featuring Caillou, most notably the grounded videos made out of him. In fact, this mispronunciation may have been a reference to Vyond and Plotagon videos featuring Caillou.
- It is revealed that Caillou got banned from Tinder for an unknown reason, although it is possible that he was either stalking Becky or got extremely aggressive with his other matches.
- It is revealed by Caillou and Boue's grandparents that they thought of them as a nice gentleman and gentlewoman couple, despite them acting the opposite, indicating that they are extremely oblivious of Caillou and Boue's immature personalities. However, they are actually aware of their inappropriate actions, but instead of punishing them, they reward Caillou and Boue for their behavior, and even protected them from Boris's wrath.
- In his AMA, he revealed he used to have hair, but one day, he decided to play a prank on Boris by lighting firecrackers in his closet, but he forgot to get out and the fireworks burned his hair off and it never grew back.
- Caillou’s goal is to become a businessman, although he never does anything to achieve that goal, as it's only in his imagination.
- Boris is angry and filled with chagrin and misery in this series. However, it's obvious that he is putting all of his son's antics on himself, as Caillou is 22 years old, meaning he is a legal adult man and he has the ability to kick him out of his house at any time, but Boris seems to not have the will to force his son to move out. However, it is also because Caillou occasionally blackmails his parents into getting what he wants.
- In his AMA, Caillou reveals he doesn’t have a lot of friends, but he sometimes hangs out with Boots.
- In his AMA, Caillou reveals other sociopathic traits such as a grandiose sense of self, impulsive and hedonistic behaviors, mooching off the generosity of others, and absolutely no ability to follow any life plan whatsoever.
- In the first episode, after Boris admits that he blamed himself for the fact that he and Doris made Caillou the way he is, Caillou reasonably and remorsefully tries to sympathize him by telling him to not blame himself. This reveals that Caillou has a certain degree of sympathy, remorse and care for those who love him back and even tries to help them get through their plights. He doesn't show any reference to this in the later episodes.
- He is currently the only AOK villain to be on this wiki.
