A gun! Give me the freaking gun! WTH I can't pick it up!
~ Carl's first words

Carl, also known as Carl the NPC, is a supporting character in GroovyDominoes52's videos and the titular deuteragonist of the 2021 Roblox game Roblox NPCs are becoming smart!.

He is an NPC who lives in the virtual world of Roblox known for causing a lot of trouble in the game, mostly when fire weapons are involved, and is essential for summoning many of the endings in the game/series. He is also revealed to be the creation of John.

He's Voiced By Speakonia Website.

Personality[]

One of his most memorable traits is the fact that he's obsessed with picking up a gun and will show anger at anyone for touching it, however he can sometimes shows a level of Awareness about the Game’s reality and is quite reluctant on some occasions. It has been shown that, whenever he actually picks up the gun, he uses it to recklessly kill others around him despite having no reason to do .

Carl's relationship with the player is completely inconsistent and sociopathic, in some endings Carl is aggressive and is even willing to kill them, while in others Carl is neutral or sometimes even friendly towards the player, even considering them a friend.

Overall, Carl is a mostly neutral and unpredictable character who does whatever he wants without thinking about the consequences.

Biography[]

Carl's first appearance was in the "Roblox NPCs are becoming smart!" video. The video starts with Carl finding a gun on the ground and trying to pick it up, but no matter how much he tries, he can't collect it. Groovy then picks up the gun and ends up stuck, with half of his body buried on the ground. Carl gets angry at the player for "stealing his gun", saying he deserved it and refusing to help.

Groovy insists on asking for help, and eventually Carl lies that, by pressing Alt + F4 they will both get free robux (in reality, doing this closes the game). Groovy states that it sounds like a scam, with Carl denying and insisting that he tries the trick. Groovy replies with "well ok then" and it's presumed that he fell for the trick as the video suddenly ended.

Carl made numerous other appearances in GroovyDominoes52’s videos, mostly on his “I make your Roblox NPCs are becoming smart ending suggestions series”.

After the success of the NPC series, a game was made based on the series. In the game, Carl can be seen on a cutscene at the start. In the cutscene, he finds a gun but is unable to pick it up. Afterwards, the player can do some actions, such as talking to him, in order to summon specific endings with Carl. If the player says something out of the script, Carl will say “I don't understand” and the “Unrelated Ending” will happen.

Villainous Actions[]

In the game[]

  • Carl kills the player on several endings, such as in the Hacker, No U, Philippines, Karma and Bad Endings, sometimes for silly reasons such as the player simply calling him bad.
  • He's also perfectly okay with the player committing suicide, even letting them have the gun if they say they'll use it to shoot themselves.
  • Both in the series and the game, he tries to trick the player into pressing Alt + F4, lying that they'll get "free bobux" if they do so.

In the YouTube series[]

  • In the sequel "Roblox NPCs are becoming smart! 2", when Carl finally picks up the gun, he uses it to kill a NPC and Groovy simply because he finds himself awesome.
  • In the first episode of the "I make your NPCs are becoming smart ending suggestions!" series...
    • Groovy picks up the gun and generously gives it to Carl, but Carl still kills him (Betrayal Ending).
    • Kidnaps Groovy (Kidnapped Ending).
    • Kills Groovy for refusing to give the gun (No U Ending).
    • Turns out to be the impostor and tries to frame Groovy for murder (Amogus Ending)
  • In the "What was Carl the NPC doing while ROBLOX was down?" video, after getting tired of all the humiliation he received from players, Carl broke into Roblox's server room and clicked the "Deploy nukes i mean Shut Down Roblox" button, causing Roblox's servers to be down for two days. Though he does regret it and fixes them later.
  • in "Why does Carl the NPC want the freaking gun?", after Carl finally picks up the gun, he uses it to kill everyone in the server and only stops after Groovy uses his coding to delete Carl's gun. But once again, Carl regrets his actions and gets along with the players afterwards. There is no real proof that he is evil.
