BEHOLD, THE TRAVELER HE TRAVELS THROUGH MY MIND. I TOLD HIM TO GET GOING AND HE DIDN'T LEAVE ME BEHIND. HE TOOK ME TO A WATERHOLE AND TOLD ME TO CLOSE MY EYE. I FOLLOWED HIM AND HE SAID TRUST IN ME AND DROPPED MY HEAD INSIDE.

He put those wires in my head before I could decline.
I've seen more than my fellow man before my proper time.

~ One of The Traveller's songs, which began Nihil's descent into madness.
"You must think you're so clever. I won't let go of you until you're cured of yourself. Your true self, look at me; no words are spoken about this since we're both about to see the light of this world."
~ The Traveller threatens one of her closest "friends" about her "husband's" current state of mind.

Carmen Lilly or better known as "The Traveller" is an Overarching antagonist of Haven, where people in the year 2046 gain "supernatural" powers, she is the sole reason for Adam Goshenite's downfall into insanity which kickstarted a chain of events of child kidnappings and more popular powerful heroes having a sudden mental change in either personality or ideals, she is also the "wife" of Adam Goshenite.

Carmen is described as a sweet person at first, coming off as a remorseful woman with unusual amount of interest in the minds of people, seeing them as a way to make people more happy; this wasn't the case in the slightest and turns out that she is a cold, uncaring individual who wants to cause Neopolis's civilization and possibly the world to embrace their true selves rather than the ones they use in public eyes.

Biography[]

Past[]

18 years prior to the events of Haven, Carmen was seen as an genuine warm-hearted person who wanted nothing more but to help her friends, overtime due to her leaving behind the people she once knew, she became more cynical, to the point of wanting a child just so they could potentially amuse her in the future, the first was needing to find someone who had a crush on her, one was named: Adam Goshenite, they met every night at an apartment, usually talking about their own sorrows and problems. This eventually lead to a "romantic relationship", continuing to play this role, she eventually gave birth to a child, a year later. This is where she began to slowly show her true personality, which Adam never suspected in the slightest. She didn't return home some nights, or she came back drunk. Despite all of this, their husband was too afraid to ask not for his own safety but for his son's safety, they couldn't raise a child alone. The abuse would eventually get to the point, when powers began to form in Neopolis, she used hers to drive him to insanity. After Adam's personality shift, she took the chance to run with their child, leaving everything behind in the process and with the help of her power, faked her own death in-front of their "husband".

Present[]

During the events of Haven, Adam mentioned her in a few insane ramblings when talking to "The Immortals"'s leader, theorized that she might still be alive out there, the leader considered it due to how he described that her body was never discovered nor did it make the news headline. With this Adam set out to find her, only to find nothing.

Her first actual appearence is when she met with a very popular superhero "Prime", inviting the hero to a cup of tea and coffee she would gain his trust, more than enough to ask him to follow her and listen to a song she made. After listening to it, Prime's morals and ideals changed drastically, purging people who have "sinned" in his eyes and no longer holding back against criminals. After asking a few questions, the "cured" hero would be allowed to remove her mask, revealing a woman with black and yellow hair with pitch black eyes, expecting this to occur Carmen wore a wig and contact lenses. It was also revealed that the coffee shop she invited him to is owned by her. Unknown by Prime, most of the employees have been subjected to the same song he's listened to.

Her second appearence and subsequent encounter was with a child named "Doha", a child that was "befriended" by Adam, following her to his secret hideout in the woods, an orb would form in her wings, playing a song for him to listen to once he was comfortable enough and close enough to his hideout. The child, compared to his original ideals was now okay with causing immense amount of harm to people and be incredibly attached to friends who want to leave to go do other things, after this she gained knowledge that Doha made friends with Adam and tried to break him even more, telling him of the atrocities he has caused, to her dismay the child didn't care and even told her to go away. This caused a wave of anger to form but she quickly calmed down, leaving before reminding him of what the jester caused.

Personality[]

"People don't need to hide their true selves when I get this city to finally listen to my songs; there won't be any need for war or violence. Only the endless travelling and eventual collapse of everything around us. You don't need to be nervous.. You'll be perfect out there, with me always watching you."
~ Carmen explains why she's doing what she does to her only son.

Silent and seemly "charismatic" to who she speaks to, Carmen described by the small amount of people she's met is seen as a nice, compassionate person; one with high hopes and enormous expecations for her "friends", seemly always there for them and truly a kind soul one deserving a title of a "friend". Outside of this small group of people, her actual intentions are seen as monsterous, blinded by her own desires and unlike her "husband" she is aware of her actions, doing so to benefit only herself; even if this was manipulating their son into becoming a lust-filled "Vtuber" with a cult following in order to sneak in her "songs" inbetween videos. This would result in more people being driven to either insanity or becoming a delusional individual with no care for life, both roles she occupies. She also has a complete hatred for her "husband", wanting nothing but a son who she could manipulate into placing her songs online without them being taking down, when she got that son, she began to tell them over months of small talks that their dad was a horrible person who cheated on them, just so they wouldn't dare to disobey her every command. Outside of this, Carmen wants the jester to fall down a ditch, or even better to be forgotten in the eyes of the public, this doesn't mean she's filled with hatred to the point of intervening, she uses this as an scapegoat to not be seen by as a potential suspect in future cases where her "songs" were the main evidence. When seemly given orders to leave by "Doha", she growls in annoyance showing a side that hasn't been seen in years, a controlling person who always wants to be the leader.

Trivia[]

  • Her character's motives were inspiried by the song "Pyrrho" by Nick Lyons, the person behind Kanye Quest 3030. The song vaguely describes a man being dragged without his consent into a cult, where they seemly put wires into his head metaphorically reducing him to an insane man that can't come up with anything, the song also contains the last call of The Kauai 'O'o, a species of bird that went extinct in 1984.
  • Her having a bird-like appearence and gothic design was intentional towards the song's theme, they also come from the game "Library Of Ruina",
