Theodore Grambell, later known as CatNap, is the main antagonist of the cancelled fanmade Poppy Playtime tie-in Webtoon, The Hour of Joy Fan-Comic, serving as the deuteragonist of Part 1, and the main antagonist of Part 2.
Like his original counterpart, he is a life-sized recreation of one of the characters from Playtime Co.'s "Smiling Critters" lineup and was formerly an orphan who was chosen to be experimented on for the Bigger Bodies Initiative. However, unlike his original counterpart, this version of CatNap has a more tragic past. He faced abuse from the employees that worked for Playtime Co, leading him to follow a voice that’s implied to be the Prototype as a result, initiating a massacre known as the "Hour of Joy". Overall, he is the servant of the Prototype, along with being the brother and former best friend-turned-archenemy of DogDay (and later the rest of the Smiling Critters).

Part 1[]
CatNap is first seen lurking in the shadows. After overhearing two employees attempting to punish Miss Delight and DogDay, he kills the employees by slashing them with his claws.
Later, CatNap looks at himself in the mirror, trying to stop his claws from bleeding. He begins to speak to himself in motivation, expressing his sadism in killing people. Unbeknownst to CatNap however, Bobby BearHug overhears his planning, much to her dismay.
However, CatNap catches her in the act, and threatens her to silence when DogDay searches for them. Bobby later recounts on how CatNap murdered Ms. Brooks for complaining about not being able to sleep.
CatNap, sitting in his room, runs into DogDay, and is genuinely happy to meet him. DogDay remarks on how CatNap's voice box is still not fixed, with the latter stating that the employees don't care about him enough to fix it. DogDay also notices that CatNap is starving, before changing the topic and showing a drawing that CraftyCorn had made. CatNap becomes secretly upset when he learns that CraftyCorn had asked DogDay out for a date, while DogDay convinces the former to go and eat with him.
During supper, PickyPiggy bullies CatNap over some food, and taunts the former for starving himself. An angry DogDay yells at Piggy for her behavior, much to the latter's dismay. Piggy smugly confronts CatNap about an incident that had happened (after learning about it from Bobby BearHug). CatNap lies that he was sleeping too much before attempting to slash PickyPiggy. DogDay stops him and the two get into an argument about DogDay defending Piggy before leaving. In a fit of rage, he locks himself in his room, and shreds up all the gifts that DogDay had received out of anger, while expressing his jealousy of CraftyCorn hanging out with DogDay more than him.
Before he can rip up a photo of him and DogDay, CatNap breaks down and remembers the time when he first met DogDay in their first week at the Playcare, before going to sleep. The next day, CatNap prepares to eat some breakfast that was prepared for him by DogDay, only for the employees to beat him for what he did to a woman named Ms. Brooks days earlier (which is the same incident that PickyPiggy and Bobby BearHug were talking about). The employees then ban him from the Home Sweet Home and continue to beat and taunt him until PickyPiggy warded them off. After they left, CatNap yells at Piggy and blames her for the abuse on him, much to Piggy's dismay.
After CatNap leaves the Home Sweet Home with his things, he gets attacked by KickinChicken and Hoppy Hopscotch, who make fun of him for his situation along with stealing their friends. But DogDay intervenes and punches Kickin in the face, threatening to hurt him more if he messes with CatNap again, resulting in DogDay no longer being friends with Kickin and Hoppy. CatNap tearfully tells DogDay that he had been banned from Home Sweet Home. DogDay goes into denial, but CatNap stops him and the two have a heart-to-heart. CatNap expresses his desire for freedom.
That night, the employees remind CatNap about what he did, telling him goodnight. This made CatNap's desire for freedom increase. Suddenly, a voice tells him that the other Smiling Critters are "heretics", and that everyone is else is trying to stop him from getting freedom. It taunts him for trying to give up and states that even if DogDay were to be the nicest person to others, he would still be met with punishment regardless. The voice tells him to kill everyone in sight, including innocent people because they aren’t his friends. The voice ends off by telling CatNap that he is special and that he can use the Red Gas as a weapon.
Part 2[]
Eat[]
The next day, August 8th, 1995, CatNap overhears Bobby BearHug admitting to DogDay that she was the one who reported CatNap to the Counselors. But DogDay denied that CatNap killed Ms. Brooks. CatNap unleashes the Red Smoke, knocking out DogDay and Bobby. CatNap then slits PickyPiggy's throat when the latter tries to offer him cookies. He then grabs CraftyCorn and gouges her eyes out, and then leaving her to bleed with the Red Gas.
An employee who is leading a tour for the Home Sweet Home sees CatNap hiding behind the door. She prepares to introduce him, only for CatNap to slit her throat and decapitate her, marking the beginning of the Hour of Joy.
Remember[]
11:00 AM, and the toys began to slaughter and kill everyone that they see. KickinChicken, Bubba Bubbaphant, and Hoppy Hopscotch witness the Mini Smiling Critters killing several of the visitors in the Playcare. Kickin hears laughing coming from a hallway behind Bubba, and the latter goes to check it out. It turns out that CatNap lured Bubba into a trap by playing the Mommy Long Legs commerical. Bubba closes the door, only to hear knocking come from it. CatNap then enters the room and stabs Bubba in the back, taunting him once he's killed. Enraged, KickinChicken punches CatNap in the face.

Trivia[]
- It's implied that the voice that influenced CatNap to start the Hour of Joy massacre is in fact the Prototype. Though, the latter is not mentioned by name.
- It is mentioned by an employee at the Playcare that CatNap, as Theodore Grambell, had attempted to escape the Playcare before, only to be electrocuted and was nearly killed in the process.
- According to a quote tweet by the WebToon's creator, Rockrabbit_0, CatNap was originally going to lure Bubba Bubbaphant with the Smiling Critters theme song. But this was changed to wear he used Mommy Long Legs' theme song in order to make that scene more scary, along with the fact that at the time, Mommy Long Legs was one of the most popular toys.[1]
- Part 2 is split into different segments depicting the deaths of the Smiling Critters (e.g. Bubba Bubbaphant's death takes place in "Remember"). The titles of these segments are a reference to how the Smiling Critters will die.
- After the webcomic entered its hiatus, Rockrabbit_0 updated the Smiling Critters death panel to include DogDay and CatNap in it. However, due to the comic’s eventual cancellation, it’s unknown how the other Smiling Critters were killed.
- Although CatNap attacks CraftyCorn after killing PickyPiggy, Crafty does not die immediately and is instead left to bleed to death (to be depicted in "Red"). She's also the last of the Smiling Critters to die during the Hour of Joy, as DogDay and CatNap are implied to had died the same way as their mainstream counterparts.
