Hah. Still No competition, out numbered or not. It's 2 grains of rice against an entire roast Goose!
~ Pride to Motomo and Humility.
Tsk tsk tsk, so little do you know, about science!!
~ Robotnik bragging at Sonic and friends when Robotnik successfully got them trapped into a laser beam with great timing, and then held onto a remote that channeled on the crappy tv show Robotnik was going to forcefully maroon into them with another powerful laser beam in "SSJ Plush Adventure: Plan E-Vision!".
You see, you requested a Cog that would be an immaculate replacement for that disgusting lowlife you call... Misty Monsoon. I, for one, am able to accomplish this role, for what sets me apart from others, besides truly being able to manipulate the environment, is my relentless dedication to Toon extinction! Ah, but you do not want just anyone. You yearn for someone who is as dedicated to their role as Ms. Anna, has standards as high as Ms. Grayelle's, and is as sophisticated as none other than Mr. Virgil! Plus, you also do not want anyone as unassertive as Mr. Bonpyre, as annoyingly egotistical as Mr. Brian, as arrogant as Mr. Payser, as lazy as Mr. C.R.T. Bravecog, or... the infamous personality of her.
As a bonus,
señors, not only will the company be running smoother than a straight river on a spring day, but the Toons will find that I am too skilled and too adept in fighting that they shall be upset and sad that they cannot endure the hurricane that is me for I will ravage them all like a cyclone, and they will never rebuild from the disaster.
~ El Lament arrogantly listing off his qualifications.

Arrogant Villains are villains who have excessive pride as a prominent part of their personality. They are often overconfident, presumptuous, pompous and egotistical in their abilities, which can lead themselves to their defeats and setbacks if they have no backup plan on their behalf. They sometimes refuse to accept defeat even when it is very obvious what will happen or will keep on coming back even after being defeated. These villains also rarely learn their lessons or learn from their mistakes, leading to further defeats to repeat endlessly. Also, their overconfidence could be exploited against and used against them, oftentimes leading to humiliating defeats as a result.

Note: Not to be confused with Egotists, who are individuals suffering from an obsession with their own self-worth (though the two are often heavily confused, and both categories tend to overlap with each other). What really helps set these two apart is that while having an undeserved high opinion of themselves, arrogant villains also have a brazenly low opinion of others while Egotists are usually too busy obsessing about themselves to have low opinions of others.
