Guardians (not to be entirely confused with legal guardians) are characters who guard treasures, rare items or entire areas. They may be noble but some are also malevolent; many of them have little personality outside their roles as Guardians. Once crossed, many Guardians will not relent and may fight to the death to defend their prizes.

Editing Note: Do not confuse Guardians with the Protective villains, who protect and care about individuals. Guardians are not necessarily protective at all times; in fact, most are Failure-Intolerant.
