Characters who sometimes act as villains and sometimes they don't. Typically, this means that they "switch sides" (i.e. go back and forth) more than twice. When a villain switches sides, they either switch sides to heroes or neutral characters.

Note[]

  • These villains are only redeemed if they stop switching sides and decide to stay good or neutral in the very end of the story; otherwise, they should remain in this category.
  • Also, none of these characters are Complete Monsters nor Near Pure Evils because there is no break in the CM/NPE's villainy. Although some of these villains may never fully redeem themselves; they are never Complete Monsters or Near Pure Evils, even if sometimes they come very close.
  • This category also disqualifies villains from the Hate Sink category, as a villain occasionally switching to the good side makes it hard for them to be hated by audiences. This goes double for those who are mostly good but are somewhat villainous.
  • Villains who joins the heroes' side out of PRAGMATIC and SELF-SERVING needs, but still retains their villainous way, can NEVER count. Either some of them have already returned into evil or these kinds of villains will drop their hero facade ways once their needs and/or wants are fulfilled (e.g. SpongeBob Squarepants and Dream).
