Predators are carnivorous creatures whether they are Animals, Monsters, Demons, and/or Aliens who hunt and kill for food. This villain archetype is one of the oldest, if not, the oldest since predatory creatures of all shapes and sizes have collectively existed for as long as life has on Earth.

Predators in real life and fiction typically act out of instinct and a need to eat rather than genuine maliciousness; thus they are almost always considered Amoral and/or Feral.

However, this category should never be mistaken with human predators who are either Cannibals and/or Man-Eaters (if they hunt for food within their own species) or suffer pedophilia as Perverts (if they are sexual predators). This category is for creatures who have to eat other creatures in order to live, such as Animalistic Predators - however, these categories can overlap in some cases.

Although many of these villains hunt and kill for food, they don't necessarily need to do so in order to qualify for this category. Some of these predators are simply members of species that are predatory in nature, such as dinosaurs, felines, canines, bears, birds of prey, sharks and reptiles.

Since these villains kill to survive, they are rarely Complete Monster, though it is possible for them to be if they are cruel to victims and enjoy torturing them, be it physically, mentally or emotionally before eating them. (examples include Pepper Satanica).
