“ | Ohh, I get it now. You and your pals think because you beat Kage easily that the rest of us are going to be no challenge? Hah, that's a good one. Just think of Kage as a piece of paper. Now, compare him to me: a reinforced steel wall blocking you from going any further. I'm something of the … 'bodyguard' of our group, and it's been way too long since I got to enjoy a real fight. You won't be getting past me, mouthy little boy who never shuts the hell up. | „ |
~ Celeste to Latoshi, A Blond Ray of Sunshine, Part 5: Frozen Summer |
Summary[]
Celeste is a character in A Blond Ray of Sunshine — a Pokémon fan fiction series that takes place in a future timeline, almost one hundred years after the events of Pokémon Red and Blue. Making her debut in Frozen Summer, she is portrayed as the wild, violent, cocky trash-talking member of her group, The Clique, consisting of her longtime friends, Kage and Myst, and their leader, Ken. Her appearance is that of a human mixed with the features of an Umbreon, including black fur and yellow ring patterns covering her body, Umbreon ears atop her head, and pointed, bushy tail. Her background is shrouded in mystery, though it is revealed that she and her friends were all previously normal humans who went to the same school as Serenity.

Frozen Summer (2019)[]
Once Antoshi, Latoshi, and Mitoshi have defeated Kage in the forest where The Clique had been hiding, they are soon descended upon by Celeste. Latoshi, insisting he take the lead and deal with her on his own, very quickly gets into a vicious war of words with her. The two begin to fight swiftly and violently, with Celeste taking an early upper hand and throwing Latoshi into the woods, believing he is defeated. To her shock, he re-emerges soon after with only a few scratches to show for it.
Latoshi's aura explodes, confusing Celeste, who had never seen such a thing before, and begins to beat her down for a short time. Both of them go back and forth, each of them delivering cutting insults and giving into overconfidence multiple times only to be shocked when their opponent gets back up to continue fighting. Celeste eventually lands a tremendous kick that breaks Latoshi's arm.
On the cusp of victory with the bottom of her shoe pressed against his throat, Latoshi taps into a newly-found level of power that allows him to stand evenly with her once again, despite his injuries. He continues to taunt her until her rage boils over and goes into an almost animalistic state. He uses her blind rage to his advantage to find an opening and delivers a massive Shooting Stars attack that leaves Celeste unconscious in an enormous crater.
During the fight between Antoshi and Ken, Kage and Celeste emerge from the forest to look on alongside Myst. Antoshi's speed becomes too much for Ken to deal with, and finds himself enveloped in a giant sphere of Antoshi's energy, which the boy calls Red Giant, burning Ken intensely before exploding.
While the siblings cheer Antoshi's victory, Ken plays possum for a short time before firing off a sneak attack in the form of a large, pointed icicle that catches Antoshi in the arm. Myst pleads with Ken not to continue, but Ken is too consumed with rage to listen, launching a barrage of similar icicle attacks which forces the siblings to team up and defend against them. One is deflected and buries in Ken's chest. Ken collapses, believing he's about to die, stating his farewells to his friends before falling unconscious. Antoshi, however, uses his new ability to heal with his Ki, managing to completely fix the hole in Ken's chest and revives him.
Ken is shocked that the boy would save him, and respects him for the great gesture. He and his friends understand that what he'd been saying all along about wanting a peaceful resolution was true. Just as Ken offers his friendship to them, Serenity appears and quickly recognizes the four members of The Clique as the same group that she used to know from her time in school. Ken wishes not to explain what happened to them, and she does not press the issue. She is just glad to see them again, and the two sides part ways on good terms. Within the next few days, the blizzard is completely gone and the snow begins to melt, allowing life to get back to normal after a very abnormal situation.
Powers and abilities[]
As a human-Pokémon hybrid, Celeste possesses superhuman powers. While she does not use any abilities that an Umbreon would, she wields tremendous strength, durability, and especially speed. Her speed is beyond anything Latoshi had even seen from his speedster brother, Antoshi, and allows her to effortless gain the upper hand numerous times in their fight. She can strike with colossal power, and uses her strength in tandem with her razor-sharp, curved and hooked fingernails to draw blood from Latoshi. However, she is vulnerable to reacting to taunts and insults, taking them very personally, to the point where her anger completely clouds her thoughts and fighting ability.
