Overview

It doesn't matter in what order because at the end of day... I will kill you all.
~ Cell threatens the few remaining Z-Fighters, and likely the rest of the Universe.
Death, chaos and destruction, evil of the Universe!!! I order you!! Give me some of your energy!!!
~ Cell begins forming his evil Genkidama.
Cell continued his search throughout the Universe, for new and powerful rivals. Destroying everything in his path, little by little... he would strip away the Universe of all life... No one could stand up to him... No one would prove sufficiently challenging for him... And 20 years later... He understood, that there wasn't anything left in the Universe... His only hope were the dragon balls... and the wish for a challenge on his level!!
~ Ending narration of Chapter 11

Cell is the main antagonist of the copy/paste Spanish fan manga/web comic Dragon Ball C by Cellkai, using mixed up panels from the original manga to form a new story.

In an alternate timeline where Cell won that final beam struggle against Gohan, he allowed the heroes to live and left Earth so they could entertain him upon his return. Throughout this journey and his eventual return to Earth, Cell's character only grew in malevolence, leaving a colossal path of death and destruction behind him, not just on Earth but throughout the Universe.

Appearance[]

Manga Cell Render

Full appearance

Cell's appearance is the same as his canon self after gaining his Perfect form and keeping the lightning aura he got after coming back from his self-destruction (though it's not always present during fights, possibly to indicate when he's holding back and when he's not).

DBC Saiyan Cell

Cell's color scheme plus what he could hypothetically look like as a Saiyan.

Though he's based on his manga self his color scheme (seen in Chapter 1's cover) takes after the colors given to Cell in the anime, with overall lighter green colors on his armor/carapace and spots, the dark purple sections between body parts and the pink irises.

Also in Chapter 1's cover a hypothetical Saiyan version of Cell can be seen, representing the Saiyan in him, with horn-like hair shaped like his crown/helmet and an outfit that looks just like Vegeta's during the Android Saga but colored green instead of blue, plus the monkey tail all Saiyans naturally have.

Personality[]

Goten: He's very... strong!!!
Trunks: Hopefully he's not as bad as Buu...
Piccolo: No! He is far worse... Cell... is more cruel.
~ Goten, Trunks and Buu watch Cell beating up Super Buu.

Initially shown to be just as cruel and brutal as the original, after the 7 year time-skip between the Cell Games and Buu's awakening he only grew more bloodthirsty and combative, and in the eyes of others he was seen as a bigger and more vile threat than Buu.

He still uses the lives of others for his own goals, getting a similar scenario to when he canonically ordered his Cell Jrs to beat up the Z-Fighters so Gohan would be enraged and transform, in this new story killing off Goten in one shot to do the same thing for Gohan, getting him mad and making him stronger.

Likewise he is still very sadistic: To reward Gohan's new strength in his Mystic state he chooses to attack him with a new technique that ends up chopping his arm off and would've cut his body in half had he not dodged in the split second he was given. He is far more prone to kill opponents on the spot than before and less likely to give them a fair fight, and the only life he cares about is his own as evidenced by his response to his children killing each other out of boredom, to merely chuckle.

The closest Cell comes to being "benevolent" can be seen his promises to Dende and the Frost Lords, given the chance to live on if they give him what he wants (info on the dragon balls and an entertaining battle respectively) but with Dende it proved to be a lie and Cell's victories in battle always lead to either death or leaving opponents to survive and improve only to satiate his hunger for better opponents, and it's never done out of kindness.

He kept Dende alive so the dragon balls wouldn't disappear and as soon as Glacius died in one shot, Cell wiped out the rest of the Frost Lords in an instant, going as far as saying that wiping out their miserable race will be doing the Universe a favor, and that the only good thing they ever did was being part of him (since he has Freeza's cells and he's part of the Frost Lords' species).

In his quest for a worthy challenge he proceeds to wipe out all life in the Universe, since no one could stand up to him and those who approached his level weren't strong enough, with Cell seeing them as pointless obstacles in his quest. Even Super Buu, Gohan and Goku whose power he somewhat praised were still humiliated and beaten to near death before being killed without mercy, all he did was always just for his own twisted enjoyment.

Anyone who tries to fight him and isn't up to his standards will get instantly eradicated, as was the case with Piccolo who Cell at first ignored since he was so weak and there were many other stronger opponents around. Once he tried to fight, Cell didn't give him a chance of any kind.

How pitiful of you... Piccolo.
~ Cell right before casually vaporizing Piccolo.

Dende's visions of the future also reveal that he wouldn't just be a threat to the Earth and the Universe, but any realities beyond this as well. Since Cell had already messed up timelines due to the use of Trunks' time travel vehicle it's possible he might've tried to do this again to find worthy challenges, or might've even traveled to alternate universes (a possibility given the story takes some influence from Dragon Ball Multiverse).

Nothing... This universe is nothing more than an enormous disappointment... There's no point in keeping up this absurd quest... If I really desire a challenge on my level... My only option... are the dragon balls.
~ Cell after ridding the Universe of sentient life.

Quotes[]

Cell: Be grateful, useless trash... I'm giving you more time.
Krillin: I... don't get it... Time? For another Cell Games??
Cell: No... No more tournaments... It's simple. I am clearly far superior. All of you combined wouldn't be a threat to me. Killing you isn't what matters to me... Killing you here and now... It's of no importance to me anymore. So I came up with something much more interesting... If I killed you, I might be missing out on future fun... and that doesn't interest me. That is why I leave you in your pathetic planet. I know you'll improve, so train hard... because do not doubt I will return... I don't know when, but for your own good... you better improve.
~ Cell allows the Z-Fighters to live.
Indeed! The fight is only interesting if both fighters are even in strength...
~ Cell during his battle with Mystic Gohan.
Bah... I don't know why you're still alive... but that doesn't matter now... This must be my lucky day... I'll once again get the pleasure of killing you, Son Goku...
~ Cell to the revived Son Goku.

Powers and Abilities[]

It must be because of your Saiyan cells that push me to wish again and again to measure myself against powerful rivals, the more the better. Eliminating you would only be losing future entertainment... and I wish to be even stronger and I wish to fight even more.
~ Cell to Vegeta and the rest of the Z-Fighters.
No one in the Universe could confront Cell's enormous power. He would travel the galaxy without rest... Not even the gods would be safe of the terror.
~ Chapter 12 narration.

Following his victory in the Cell Games, Cell's power grew considerably in the 7 year time-skip, enough to make a joke out of Super Buu, take down Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks in two hits (hard enough to de-fuse him into Goten and Trunks) and overpower Mystic Gohan without giving it his all, putting his power level around Super Buu's stronger forms (after absorbing Gotenks and Gohan). More proof of this is in the fact that Kibito and Shin used the Potara earrings to fuse but were easily killed by Cell, despite the fusion having shown the confidence to fight Super Buu after he had absorbed Gotenks (in the original manga).

Cell has all of the same abilities he used beforehand, plus more. He is able to combine techniques, such as the Shunkanido and the Kienzan, creating the Instantaneous Kienzan, which can teleport wherever he wants to surprise his opponents.

DBC Instantaneous Kienzan

Cell's Instantaneous Kienzan, moments before chopping Gohan's arm off.

It was to be expected, that a perfect being like me... would perfect your tecniques... In fact, I've had more than enough time to... evolve in my own perfection.
~ Cell to Gohan after cutting his arm off with his Instantaneous Kienzan.

He has also mastered the techniques in a superior manner compared to their original owners, such as Piccolo's Makankosappo which requires a lot of time to charge up, Cell in comparison can instantly shoot it without charging it at all, though it appears to be an improved version since he calls it Cho Makankosappo, Cho likely meaning "superior".

In the original manga he hypothesizes he could use the Genkidama (he says so to Krillin in his Imperfect state after the battle at Ginger Town) and gets the chance to prove it in his final battle with Goku in the fan manga, though it's his own version of a Genkidama formed of evil, chaotic and impure energy.

Goku: You cannot use the Genkidama!!! Only a pure heart can gather the energy necessary to form it!!!
Cell: True... Many years ago I understood that I couldn't form a Genkidama, since someone like me could never gather energy that pure... so I began working on a way to adapt the technique for me... The energy that I gather between my hands is the energy of evil... of chaos... Because if in this vast Universe something good exists, there will always exist something evil. As simple as good and evil. The energy of evil.
Goku: It... It can't be!!
Cell: Let us see what energy teems more in the Universe... Pure or impure... Though I must advise you... There isn't much good left to call for help.
~ Goku and Cell in their final battle.

Cell also shows another ability unseen in the original series but that he likely possesses due to having Goku's cells: the ability to read minds, which he uses against Dende to extract all possible information on the dragon balls.

Additionally, even in spite of Buu's superior regeneration, Super Buu seemed unable to heal any damage dealt to him by Cell, somehow.

Trivia[]

  • Dragon Ball C is in part inspired by Dragon Ball Multiverse, a story where different universes in which events across Dragon Ball's history transpired differently get to meet up. This Cell in some ways resembles the one in DBC though Cellkai started posting pages for his web comic a good while before DBM focused on its Cell's story and how he came to beat the heroes and terrorize the Universe.
  • Since the only finished ending was Dende's, Cell remains beaten and sealed away in the story.
  • Cell originally had the smallest bodycount among the original series' villains, but in Dragon Ball C he far surpasses all other antagonists when it comes to death and destruction. Thanks to his intellect, genetic make-up and the ability to become much stronger after a near-death experience, plus the desire to wipe out all life in the Universe once they have nothing left to offer him in battle, Cell is arguably the biggest threat in the series, and one of the biggest throughout all DB fan works.
  • Though Beerus isn't acknowledged in the story given that the author had planned out the story before Beerus made his debut, when retroactively added into and considered in the story of Dragon Ball C, Cell is also responsible for killing him, since by killing Kibitoshin technically Beerus would've died as well.
  • In chapter 12 Glacius implies King Cold had more than one son rather than just Freeza as has always been the case in the manga. This would suggest Cooler's existence and the events of the stories he takes a part in might be canon to Dragon Ball C, though it could also be that Cold had other children but those have since died, only Freeza remained and none of them were Cooler. The only relevance this would have for DBC is that it could imply Cell might have Cooler's cells, though this is only a theory.
