Chara is the main antagonist of ULTRA!TALE created by Animated Zorox. They serve as the main antagonist of Episode 1 and the overarching antagonist of the rest of the series.
Unlike their original counterpart, who was the first fallen human with a pension against their own kind, this version of Chara is a monsterous spirit who, after absorbing Frisk's soul, now aims to wipe out the rest of the underground, starting with Sans.
Appearance[]
In the original form, Chara takes on the appearance of a white humanoid with red eyes and pink cheeks, along with a red red heart that has a monster heart inside of it.
Upon evolving into their upgraded form, their entire body turns red with a circle pattern on it, and their eyes turn black.
Personality[]
Chara is shown to be an incredibly sadistic entity who aims only to wipe out the entirety of monsterkind. They constantly taunt their enemies as seen by how they callously reveal to Sans that Frisk doesn't have the ability to reset anymore thanks to them. Their sadistic side is really shown at the end of the video when they say that Sans will be with his brother soon before attempting to take his life.
Biography[]
Chara's exact origins are unknown, although it can be assumed that they were likely similar to canon. Being an entity who fell into the underground and ended up under the care of the Dreemurr family before formulating a plan with Asriel to try and "free" monsterkind, before ultimately dying in the fallout.
In the present, Chara, after Frisk has gone through an entire genocide route, manages to merge with their soul, fully taking over their body so that they can finish the job themselves. Making quick work of Sans by slicing him in half, Chara presumably prepares themselves to go take care of Asgore, but is stoppd by the king himself when he comes in and throws the Soul of Bravery in his direction. Chara attempts to seize it for themselves, but are stopped by Flowey, who trips them up using his vine. After brutally killing him, Chara once again tries to grab the soul, but are stopped by Asgore, though only for a short time before being killed as well, it's all the time needed for Sans to grab the soul, and absorb it into his body.
From there, the real fight begins. Sans, now with the power of a human soul , once more begins to fight Chara, this time actually managing to stand a fighting chance. Chara, seeing this, evolves into their most powerful form to continue the battle. Quickly noticing that he wasn't taking the fight seriously, Chara calls out Sans on this fact, leading to him finally taking the battle seriously.
After awhile of back and fourths, Sans manages to restrain Chara using blue bones, with his plan from there being to save Frisk so that they can reset the world. Chara however, begins to laugh at this, before revealing that once they merged their soul with Frisk's, they could no longer reset. Frisk themselves try to deny this, but once Sans pushes them into telling the truth, they mournfully reveal that they can't reset anymore.
Sans, in a state of emotional devastation, releases them before Chara promptly takes back control over their body, revealing that they only let Frisk have control so that Sans would let them go free. Chara, seeing that Sans was now crying, sadistically tells him that he doesn't need to worry anymore, and that he'll be with his brother soon, before preparing an attack to finish him off once and for all.
However, before they are able to do that, Sans gets a last second pep talk from the Soul of Bravery themselves, and, after fully becoming one with them, Sans, now in his most powerful form, proceeds to lay waste to Chara, blasting them into nothingness, ending their reign once and for all. Sans, having failed to save Frisk and the other universes, opens a portal to the others, hoping he could save them when he couldn't save his own.
