Chara is the main antagonist of the Shift Arc in Ask Data, Chara, and Frisk.

Chara is a brown-haired human with red eyes. She has pale skin with pink cheeks. She wears a tattered green hoodie, Asriel‘s tattered rainbow bandanna, a white shirt, black pants, and brown boots.

Chara is depicted as a prankster who cares a lot about their adopted family as a child. Chara grows paranoid as the resets occur, eventually going insane. After the events of the Shift arc she gets depressed and closes herself off from the world. After the therapy arc she becomes more open with her feelings, but her past is still a touchy subject. She has a crush on Data.

Biography:[]
Chara lived with her loving parents until her father grew ill and died. Her mother, not willing to lose Chara as well, kept her in the house, eventually locking her in the cellar. Chara would only be allowed out for chores and dinner. Eventually her mother would tie her up when she left the building. Eventually Chara would use the lantern to burn through her bonds and light the cellar on fire as a distraction. As she ran away, the fire burned down her entire village, killing everyone. Horrified, she climbed up Mount Ebbot before coming to a big chasm. She decided to commit suicide, but fell into the underground instead. Chara was eventually adopted by the Dreemurrs. After three happy years Frisk Fisher fell into the underground. Frisk would fall in love with her, and eventually freed the underground. Annoyed that Chara only viewed him as a friend, Fisher would kill everyone Chara cared about so that she could only love him. Eventually he tricked her into thinking that he had rigged bombs to the mountain causing her to run there while he killed those she cared about. Eventually Hapstablook erased Chara’s universe from existence, leaving Chara in an alternate universe. She found Data!Frisk, believing her to be Fisher, tried to get Frisk to stab her, before Chara would stab Frisk back. Data!Chara would fight her, only to lose twice. Data would find the children injured and fight her. As a last ditch attempt, Chara would attempt to kill everyone (including herself) with a large amount of knives, only for Data to create a barrier protecting the kids, and used his body to protect her. Frisk’s reaction to the damaged shell of Data reminds Chara of her reaction to Asriel’s death, snapping her out of her insanity. She helps carry Data to Alphys’ place. She eventually moves in with Data, Toriel, and the kids.

- After the shift arc Chara would refuse to wash, and wouldn’t eat much, instead just watching television.
- Undershift Chara’s initial reaction to Data!Chara was that she believed that Fisher made a copy of her because he couldn’t get her to fall in love with him.
