Chef Hugo Antoine Schwein-Cochon is the main antagonist of the 2021 role-playing video game Angry Birds Epic: Uprising. He is the sadistic and traitorous royal chef of Pig City, who has betrayed his own kind and sided with the Citrean Army.
Before revealing himself as the main antagonist, he serves as a major antagonist in Chapter 1, the secondary antagonist of Chapter 2, and a minor antagonist in Chapter 7. Throughout the game, he slowly shows his true colors and serves as the main antagonist of the final chapter.
Appearance[]
Chef Cochon normally appears as a green pig with a white chef hat and apron, and has a twirly mustache. He also speaks with a thick French accent.
During the final battle, he goes under the name God Pig. In this form, he is much larger, has a white beard, and wears Greek clothing.

During the first few chapters, Chef Cochon initially presents himself as a comedic, mischievous, and incompetent minion of Lord Sinensis. When interacting with Burgundy and his friends, he would pull pranks, such as giving them exploding presents. However, this is just a facade for his true nature; he is a callous, sadistic, and psychopathic traitor who feigns loyalty to his master.
Along with Engineer-Postman Pig and Professor Pigsworth, Chef Cochon is one of few intelligent pigs. He is very manipulative. He is calm, collected, observant, and analytical. He absolutely hates King Pig, and desires to usurp the throne. He also likes to bully Professor Pigsworth.
He is also arrogant and egotistical, even naming his powered-up form "God Pig". He is racist against non-pigs. He is also cowardly, as he always runs from confrontation when his opponent has the upper hand. While Chef Cochon is willing to work with the law if it benefits him, he discards it once his needs are fulfilled.

Hugo Antoine Schwein was born in a dingy area of Pig City. Because his parents were poor, they put him in an adoption center, hoping he could have a better life. Hugo was eventually adopted by the Cochon family, and his adoptive parents taught him how to cook. During his piglethood, the only friends he had were two piglets named Victor and Marie. During his piglethood, Hugo was made fun of for unknown reasons. Little did the piglets know, Hugo did not care about this ridicule.
When Hugo was a teenager, he met a female pig who he had feelings for and attempted to ask out. However, the girl informed Hugo that she already had a boyfriend. Despite being rejected, Hugo would continuously try to win the girl's heart, to the point where he came off as creepy. With the girl rejecting him, Hugo's heartbreak eventually turned into rage.
He would eventually become the royal chef of Pig City, and one of the three second-in-commands (along with Helmet and Mustachio) of the Green Pig Army. He plots to usurp the current king, Smoothcheeks Mudbeard, and claim the throne. Over the years, Chef Cochon went along with King Pig's plans for world domination, plotting to overthrow the king so he can rule the world himself.
Shortly before the events of the game, Chef Cochon went to the Orazon Mountains and resurrected Lord Sinensis. He alligned himself with Sinensis, who started a new iteration of his army. As repayment for reviving him, Lord Sinensis granted Chef Cochon immortality and made him third-in-command. The Citrean Army took over King Pig's castle, and every single other pig was evicted from their own city.

- His birth surname Schwein is German for "pig", while his adoptive surname Cochon is French for "pig".
- According to the head developer, Chef Cochon's favorite food is anything that he cooks, which is unsurprising, given how egotistical he is.
- Chef Cochon, Helmet, Mustachio, Spike, and the Laser General are the only minibosses to have unique battle themes.
